  1. Plastic Whistle were credited as being interested in him on the BBC Scottish football gossip page earlier this week.
  2. If he resigns and is then appointed at Dundee compensation will be paid, that's normally what happens in these sort of cases, although it may take a struggle with Dundee via the SPFL to resolve it. If he does move to Dens Park I wonder what the chances of drawing them in one of the cups next season would be? Incidentally Alex Neil was on £1 million a year at Norwich so unless either of the ugly sisters want him I'd imagine he's more likely to next pop up at Hull or some other English Championship non-entity.
  3. As Div, JM1 and Dave The Buddie have mentioned Gary MacKenzie was profitable to follow as an anytime scorer in the second half of last season particularly with bet365 who would have him several points bigger than their competitors. The only problem now is that his headers were often (always?) from corners or free kicks taken by young Mr Mallan, no longer of these parts, so we need someone else who can consistently land the ball on Gary's head for the profits to carry on. I would encourage everyone who likes a bet to have a look at this next season as it should return a profit. Get him on penalties too!!
  4. Yes, hopefully he's adjusted to full-time training now and will push on after pre-season. It seems to have taken Nathan Austin a while to adjust to full-time training at Falkirk but he looks ready to make an impression whether in the play-offs or next season. Hopefully Josh Todd will make an impact and chip in with 6-10 goals next season.
  5. Kyle Hutton will be playing for Airdrie at Alloa today which probably explains his non-appearance.
  6. I'm sure Peter Houston will be pleased...
  7. How about some alternative lyrics to the song sung by Hibs fans about their McGinn brother as simply swapping "Stephen" for "Super John" but keeping the bit about better than Zidane is a pretty poor effort. If Hibs fans hear us singing that tomorrow expect much derision thanks to the blatant plagiarism.I suggest a bit of tweaking to something like this... We've got McGinn, Stephen McGinn I just don't think you understand He puts our armband on He's better than wee John We've got Stephen McGinn It's a bit different to the Hibs version and it's got the 'get it up ye' factor too!!
  8. As others have noted the 2 goals conceded today were both soft from our point of view although the second was from a farcical free kick where the Falkirk player fell over trying to hold off his opponent who had moved out of his reach. I'd like to see the goalie come off his line more whether to deal with free kicks, corners or pass backs - though in saying that he was out sharpish to slide in on Austin and knock the ball away. Anyway, onwards and upwards and on to next week. Ayr at Cappielow and Dumbarton at Dumfries while Raith are at Easter Road in the midweek after Hibs' cup-semi. Hopefully we can put pressure on Raith with a positive result on Tayside meaning they must take something from Leith - if they have to attack Hibs then I'd be confident of a home win but if they can sit back with 10 on the edge of their box they might well take a point or worse.
  9. Arithmetically Morton can still miss out on the play-offs being 8 points ahead of QoS and Dunfermline with 3 games to go. They can snuff out the threat next Saturday by beating Ayr at home, if they don't then hopefully Queens crank up the pressure by beating Dumbarton in Dumfries.
  10. You're assuming we won't be in the play-offs then? Could still be going as late as May 21st.
  11. Raith's run-in: (A) Falkirk (A) Dunfermline (H) Morton (A) Hibs (A) Us (H) Ayr Utd 4 games out of 6 away from home and they have the worst away record in the league.
  12. Current odds with BetVictor to finish bottom: Ayr Utd 5/4 Dumbarton 5/2 St Mirren 5/2 Raith Rovers 10/1
  13. If we end up in the play-offs there may be a few wishing for boring mid-table. On the plus side sales of incontinence pants, adult sized nappies and heart defibrillators will go through the roof in Renfrewshire in May.
  14. The more teams with something to play for the better, that includes Dundee Utd, Falkirk and Morton jousting for 2nd to avoid the 3rd vs 4th playoff game if they don't believe they can catch Hibs which isn't beyond the realms of possibility given Hibs recent form. It looks like QoS may be the only ones coasting towards the season's end - they are at Kirkcaldy on Saturday while Ayr play Dumbarton. I think we'll need 4 wins/12 points from our last 7 games.
  15. Comical. I wonder if Kyle McAllister is regretting joining such an unstable club.
  16. The under 20 goalie is apparently registered as an amateur and therefore not eligible to play tonight. If they converted him to a paid pro then some former club in Australia would be entitled to a development fee. Seemingly Raith Rovers asked Doncaster and Ian Blair of the SPFL for a postponement but were denied, Raith then asked for their request to go before the whole SFPL board only to be denied again. The SPFL board consists of Lawwell, Ann Budge, Leeann Dempster amongst others. What are the chances Raith will have signed Manuel Neuer on an emergency loan by a week on Wednesday?
  17. We're available at 45/1 to ruin their Scottish Cup display or 100/1 to win and both teams to score. If you fancy another 3-0 away win Paddy Power offer 500/1 although the miserable gits also offer only 500/1 on a 10-0 away win (http://www.oddschecker.com/football/scottish/fa-cup/celtic-v-st-mirren/correct-score). The first one was scored by Gary, the second by Stel-e-ios, the third one was scored by wee Morgan, it was the finest of them all......
  18. I don't think you looked very hard Ronnie! On the Ayr Utd website under the About Ayr Utd menu, Match Prices has the following info. Adults : £17 OAP’s and students £10 Under 16s £5
  19. Not forgetting Carswell in midfield. Hopefully he'll be as effective for them as he was for us. Apparently known as 'The Ghost' when at Motherwell by some of their fans.
  20. Chick Young initially reported MacKenzie as the scorer before changing his mind and suggesting Baird. He then told us there was some doubt in the press box as some thought MacKenzie while some thought it was Baird. The Press Association rep must have thought MacKenzie as I've checked my Bet365 account this morning and found they've paid out on MacKenzie as an anytime scorer at 14/1.
  21. He doesn't appear to be any taller than the manager who's by no means a giant judging by the picture above (No, not the Billy the Fish one).
  22. Yep, that was me. As I mentioned on the thread I started, there was a note in the window of the portacabin telling people to take their cars to Clark Street and the bloke there told me Purple Parking had bought St Mirren Parking. Very strange.
  23. I went to drop off my car with St Mirren Parking yesterday morning having booked through their website on Tuesday night. Upon arriving I found there was no-one there although the lights were on in the portacabin so I assumed they were dropping off at the airport and would be back shortly. Not the case. There was a piece of A4 paper stuck on the door of the portacabin advising that cars should be parked in Clark Street next to Oskars, sure enough I found the St Mirren Parking mini-bus type vehicle parked there. It seems Purple Parking have bought St Mirren Parking and relocated it to Clark Street I think to existing Purple Parking premises i.e. a big warehose type building; the bloke working there on Thursday morning said he only found out on Wednesday night. There are still a few cars parked at Greenhill Road but once their owners return from their travels and remove them it would seem the football club will once again have full use of the car park presumably in time for the next home game on the 28th against Falkirk. Perhaps an opportunity for "someone else" to set up another airport parking venture on site.
  24. You've been looking at the Tromso match programme haven't you?
