  1. He was anonymous? I genuinely worry about what some of our supporters are watching at times. Quinn is a classic example of a player that you don't realise how much you miss in the team until he's not there. He's not as good as Goodwin in the role because he's not being asked to play the same role as Goodwin.
  2. Quite embarrassing that folk are giving the gaffer a hard time for being interviewed on TV
  3. When was he on trial with us? I've heard this from a few people now but I don't see anything online about it at all.
  4. I would like Ayr as quite simply, it's the best away day in Scottish football.
  5. That's the only part that matters. Everything else is just posturing and passing off 'what you heard' as fact. No worries.
  6. I've seen you post a few times in the last few days along these lines and feel compelled to pick you up on this revisionist nonsense you're spouting. Gilmour and the BoD did run with this line but contrary to the line of history you wish to peddle, it WASNT met by universal acceptance by St. Mirren fans. It was met with dissension and debate by many which in turn was met by a scoffing 'we know better' attitude by the members of the board who we're sitting in the main stand that night spouting a load of shite. I said on here at the time it was shite, I maintain it was shite and I sure as f**k wasn't alone in that viewpoint. The very fact is that when it came to the crunch, despite their opposition, the board decided to accept the majority of the fans opinions and vote to exclude Rangers from the SPL. For me it was definitely passing the buck to the SFL by the SPL as a whole and not St. Mirren FC in particular. At that point in time there was no single governing body. By the time the SPL voted them out, the decision on their future was completely out of our hands. To implicate St. Mirren and their fans as the reason Rangers are still in existence is convoluted to be polite and an absolute load of slavering bullshit to be blunt.
  7. Unfortunately we should, much as it scunners me. We reveled in it only 3 years ago when Celtic formed an orderly line to applaud us onto the pitch after we won the League Cup. We should afford any other side the same graciousness.
  8. I would like to think the 3 league cup ticket will be priced accordingly to at least make it tempting for fans. Not something stupid like £60 for the three games.
  9. FFS. Let's set this straight once and for all. The vast majority on here don't give a toss who a footballer/manager supports. I don't give a shit who Carswell, Agnew, Rae or anyone else is a fan of. However, it is beyond f**king idiotic to put onto a public forum a post which more or less decries the Derby match you've just 'participated' in as part of your employment as a side show to 'The Big One'. It's completely disrespectful to the club, it's fans and the staff. I'd have said the same thing had it been, for example, Darren McGregor (when he played for us) publicly pushing a derby victory over our local rival to one side as he was more enthused about watching a Hibs v Hearts match. It's really not that difficult to grasp why Carswell's comments would piss off people who attend week-in week-out.
  10. You need a reversing sound with the amount of backing up you're doing here. Saying someone isn't very good at football, isn't imposing enough to be a player at this level and is effectively a ghost isn't a personal attack. It's an analysis of his ability as a footballer. Calling someone a 'c**t' is very much a personal attack. Regardless of accuracy.
  11. I don't care who a player supports as long as they do the business for SMFC. Broadfoot, Samson, McGowan, Adam, Shuggie Murray, Jim Goodwin. All well documented supporters of an ugly sister who did the business in the stripes. Scott McKenzie, Jamie McCluskey, Carswell, Agnew. None of them good enough to garner any sort of goodwill from our support when making an arse of themselves be it on twitter, telly or at a club function.
  12. Jamie Langfield - punt Daniel Wilks - keep Jason Naismith - keep Sean Kelly - punt Andy Webster - punt Jack Baird - keep Keith Watson - keep Jordan Stewart - punt Gary Irvine - keep Jim Goodwin - punt Alan Gow - punt Stuart Carswell - punt Cameron Howieson - punt Stephen Mallan - keep Scott Agnew - punt Lewis Morgan - keep Lewis McLear - keep Barry Cuddihy - punt Alex Cooper - keep Kyle McAllister - keep Rocco Quinn - keep Cal Gallagher - punt David Clarkson - punt Lawrence Shankland - keep Steve Thompson - punt Not many senior players surviving the cull if I had my way.
  13. Mackay is on loan and I'm not sure you've seen Anier play if you reckon he's worth money. Also Souttar is at Hearts now is he no?
  14. Rae has done wonders to pull together the shambles that was left for him in December. 7 wins in 13 league matches, compared to 2 in 16 previously says it all really.
  15. I'm sure he'll have many restless nights mulling over what potentially your footballing ethos may be.
  16. One of my favourite Saints players ever. Truly a guy who always seemed at his best in the stripes as it never really clicked anywhere else for him. St. Mirren and Vanzy always just seemed a good fit for one another.
  17. No, it's somewhat embarrassing that the young left back that Norwich paid £1m for, according to you, was Tony Andreu. A 26 year old French attacking midfielder who not only wasn't a product of Hamiltons youth system but in fact played for Livingston before he signed there. Oh and incidentally, it was paid by Alex Neil who had just left Hamilton for Norwich himself. They'd have never commanded thay sort of fee otherwise. Stephen Hendrie was the left back, he signed for West Ham and the fee was nowhere near £1m. Perhaps with performance related add ons it will be one day but considering it was as part of a pre-contract agreement, there's no chance a seven figure sum was exchanged. If you're going to accuse someone of talking shite, make sure you're not talking shite yourself first.
  18. Can only echo what everyone else has said and feels about David. Universally appreciated by all the fans of SMFC (well, almost all, the disappointed daddies aside). Good luck in Orlando you jammy, spawny bastard. Take plenty of sunblock, gingers burn up like mad out there.
  19. Mallan along with Jack Baird were the best two players on the park yesterday. Aside from that, all four new signings looked very good as well.
  20. The difference in the attitudes of sports media between Scotland and England are all to prevalent when situations like this arise. Everyone in the media in England seems to be getting on board with what Leicester are doing. Ian Wright on MOTD came out last night and said they'll do it and he frankly hopes they do....This is a man whose team is in the race still. Contrast this to Scotland and it's sports journalists. Take the commentators for the BBC earlier in the season when St Johnstone went to Ibrox and won at a canter or when Ross County comfortably disposed of Celtic last week. On both occasions the desperation of the pundits for the establishment clubs to get back into the match was dripping from every syllable. Take Aberdeen, an Aberdeen title win is only going to happen due to the incompetence of Ronny Deila if the press are to be believed, very little credence is actually being given to a side who are ballsy enough not to be put off by the reputation of the big fish in their tiny pond. There is genuine lethargy in the sports press in Scotland. They fear change as it causes inconvenience for them, as we've all witnessed in the past 4 years. In England though? Well they've finally dropped this nonsensical notion that they have the best league in the world, they now call it the most exciting in the world and let's be honest on the basis of this season it's been difficult to argue.
  21. How dare he? And only the 17 goals in his second season to soften the blow of such a scathing analysis of the club.
  22. If we don't replace him I wouldn't be too disappointed. Hopefully one more to come in tomorrow though, would be nice.
  23. I'm not exactly having a pop at Shankland by suggesting he's not a good outlet to hold play up. That's an indisputable fact really given how little of the ball we see in the opposition third. More along the lines that I feel Clarkson will compliment Shankland a lot of the time.
  24. Think the biggest difference with Clarkson, which was the reason I wanted Mehmet in was that everytime he got the ball played into him he made it stick in that final third. Neither Shankland nor Gallagher can do that. Very impressed with him.
