Absolutely, that's what we all want right now, the death rate to come down. Sadly the way recording works and actually showing symptoms of the virus, we still might see a bump regarding the pre English lockdown week where too many muppets treated it like children and the last days of a school holiday
Hopefully we do see the benefits because right now unless there's a fall, the averages will see us hit 80,000 deaths by around the 10th - 12th January as I predicted (too much ridicule from a tiny minority)

As expected the lockdown is now having a downward effect on hospital cases with the virus, I'm sure we'll all be glad when this works it's way through to deaths.

Flu deaths should hopefully be quite a bit lower this year with the restrictions in place. The restrictions don't only slow the transmission of covid19, they will curb the transmission of other viruses like the flu that spreads through human close contact.

I get all the rock and a hard place stuff and generally agree however it seems the risks are being downplayed. Multi generational indoor gathering is dangerous especially with the asymptomatic rates in schools. I don't think this is being stressed enough.

Yup, cases (but not hospitalizations or deaths yet as there is still a lag before these will drop) are indeed reducing but only after the lockdown restrictions you were arguing against last month were introduced, and then almost as soon as they are seen to be working BJ wants to downgrade restrictions beyond what they were previously, with the possible exception of hospitality, when lockdown ends on Dec 2 and have a holiday over Christmas undermining the sacrifices made over the last month - if it wasn't for the nonchalant attitude he's had towards the pandemic over the last 10 months I'd find it hard to understand.

Surely I'm not the only one that's dumbfounded that there are still people that can't join up the dots regarding the situation we were in February/ March compared to now? We acted too late to lockdown then and we still have people using low case rates as a reason not to lockdown now? 😪
The steps we take are to try and curb a repeat of what happened earlier in the year, some very short memories out there.

That could be very decent for us, development costs we’d get in the region of 3.5% of that money.(£350,000)

In health terms they're doing much worse than their Scandinavian neighbours Finland & Norway who did introduce lockdowns and as I've already pointed out they started off with a far better health infrastructure than the majority of countries.
You may very well be correct about the economic side of the pandemic but that's a different kettle of pickled herring.

Far from the best performance, far from a classic but job done. Well done Saints on progressing to the next round.

Few unanswered questions for sure but I feel some confidence is acceptable regarding this development. It is very positive and hopefully it can go someway to getting back to normality.
This was one of my main concerns with people wanting to press the nuclear option regarding the elderly and vulnerable as early summer 2020 in lifting all restrictions and just letting the people most susceptible die out. Yes our life has been restricted but if normality does return within the next six months to a year, many of us (including me) will have seen it as a small price to pay for saving countless lives. the "kick the can" approach has been fully justified while we work on these vaccinations IMO.
Let's hope it's a light at the end of the tunnel, many needless deaths avoided. A reserved amount of optimism from me 👍

Yeah I noticed that too, it has been tested on 43,500 people so far, but you're right it might not be suitable for GP surgeries.
There is also the issue over how long protection will last, maybe as little as 1-3 months, but I still feel it's a step in the right direction.
Edit - 50% of people tested given placebo so 22,000.

Yes, if the person receives them directly from let's say a customer, then they are liable for Income Tax but not for National Insurance purposes.

If they are paid out by the employer through their wages, it is the employers duty to deduct both the Income Tax and National Insurance contributions that are due.

In both cases, tips should not be included in making up to the minimum wage levels.

That's utter nonsense, along with Cammy, two new boys were the best on the park. We dominated Dundee United for the vast majority of the game.
