This was the ultimate Super Sub scenario.2 goals down after 22 mins, the team got dogs abuse at half time.Manager Rikki McFarlane decided to stick on Alan Logan for Frank McDougall and the change worked perfectly with Logan notching a hat trick. The Stadium erupted when the 3rd went in.:)

What a team that was and a travesty they never won the cup that year, Brian McGinley had a lot to do with that though, out and out cheating in the replay to be honest.

Wilkinson put Saints to the sword but a 4 goal comeback saw Saints safely through to the QF....where we face the Soap Dodgers.

I'm fed up with this Diddy Cup and won't be featuring it again.

Met him again recently at a function , with his bruv in law , former Hibs and 'Well player Willie Irvine and their wives. Still claims to be the first player ever that Fergie paid money for !

Could be true. Came in at the same time as "Hey, hey, you, you" Donnie McDowall from Thistle.

I was behind the goal in the second half, John Sutton hit a shot just past the post which hit my wrist and broke my watch. It's still in a bag awaiting repair, haven't worn a watch ever since!

What a tremendous end to a game that was. Wee Stephen McPhee was a great player, he made a huge difference and nearly kept us up, despite not actually scoring a goal. Ended up playing in Spain and then had to give up the game as a result of an injury, if I remember correctly.
