marrez
They'll play Harkins on the left and gowser through the middle. Play Gowser in the middle and Harkins on the bench more than likely, or the other way around. To be fair to them, Harkins always seems to work at Dundee for some reason, maybe Gowser for them will be like Harkins was for us.
pod
Releasing Harkins and McGowan , has probably enabled us to offer McLean a better wage and keep him , and bring in James Marwood and Ellis Plummer , only at the end of the season will we be able to decide whether it was good business or not . And to me its more about how well the new signings do for us , than how well Harkins or McGowan do at Dundee Stating the bleeding obvious mate Edited July 3, 2014 by pod
windae cleaner
Without doubt Gowser and Harkins will destroy us at least once this season. this whole scenario smacks of Dougie Bell all those years go , we couldn't harness his young talent but Aberdeen made him into a multi honour winning midfielder. I'm 100% convinced that Hartley will succeed with them together where Danny failed , and Tommy wouldn't even give it a shot ! All Hartley needs to do is get Gowser fit again. He was unfit last season due to unprofessionism off the pitch and hence the poor performances. This will be the kick up the arse he needs He was meant to showcase for the Championship teams last season but he piled on the weight and the scouts noticed his body shape. Dundee imo have won a watch here

Sergie's no1 fan
Risky business from Hartley signing someone like Harkins alone who is more than capable of stirring it in the dressing room. He has signed Kevin Thomson and McGowan on top of that. Their dressing room will be full of ego & explosions. Lets not forget Hartley is no shrinking violet himself. He needs to be in control from the start or wasters like Thomson and Harkins will cause him all sorts of problems. Dundee are always not far away from a meltdown. Both are prone to throwing a huff if not selected in starting lineup. Gowser knows Hartley from his playing days at Celtic, though will be interesting to see how he works his discipline under a new manager and if the move from Airdrie will pan out. dave.j
Hartley in today's paper his midfield 3 will be ferry, Harkins and McGowan. And the three will be given a free role and expect to change between DM and AM roles. Don't see that working too well. Harkins certainly has never been known as a runner/worker. Though with his range of passing the DM role would suit him. He joined thistle from Blackburn rovers as a fat centre half. We got him fit and made him an attacking midfielder. Absolutely fantastic news for the rest of the league. Hartley has no idea what he's doing.

Like TC says, that would be brilliant for anyone to play against but surely he wont be that naive. And where does that leave Kevin Thomson? Think hartley has treated this pre season like one in football manager 2014 Plus, none of the 3 have ever been high scorers, fancy Kenny to score more than Harkins and McGowan combined.
