This is quality entertainment, esp now that there isn't much footie to watch.

When will dicko stop digging the already massive hole that he is currently in?

Contradicting himself in consecutive posts.

The point is that they both lied. To me Salmonds lie was the bigger whopper and he knew it.

Glad we are clear it is only in your own perception that Salmond being found not guilty of lying by an official inquiry is a bigger whopper than Carmichael admitting after an official inquiry he leaked and lied about his own involvement.

Glad you think so.

Even the judge that Salmond hand picked to head the enquiry found that Salmond "evaded questions and used muddle and confusion". Only a brass necked Nationalist would claim that was evidence that Salmond had been honest

So having read through the 20 page report from Sir David Bell, what was the one recommendation highlighted in bold?

So not only is it now acceptable to smear sturgeon, it's also ok to insinuate that salmond has corrupted the judiciary and despite being cleared insinuate that he was guilty.

Just keep digging Dicko!!!

Did Carmichael not order a inquiry by the Scottish Office into the leak costing the tax payers 1 million ?

Nope, that's just another SNP lie. That was a story started on Social Media claiming the enquiry cost £1.4m. Stuart Hosie then started to quote the figure on National Radio. There has never been a published cost for the enquiry however given it is such a small office with so few people to interview general wisdom says the figure been used by the SNP is well wide of the mark.

However Alex Salmond on the other hand DID spend £20,000 of taxpayers money on legal fees trying to fight the Freedom of Information request to see the legal advice he hadn't been given on EU Membership. And a Freedom of Information request by the Sunday Post revealed that Alex Salmond has spent upwards of £80,000 of taxpayers money on "overseas hotel expenses and subsistence" including £3,800 on a three night stay in a Grand Deluxe Suite at the Pennisular Hotel in Chicago for him and his wife as they attended the Ryder Cup. Salmond also spent £5k of taxpayers money hiring a limo to get himself around London going to sporting events like the Wimbledon Final where he acted like a prick. I wonder how many food banks that could have supported. rolleyes.gif

Since it was you that answers I will assume it did cost around £1 million. As for food banks, something few people knew about in the past but thank to the Tory government everybody now know about it. A business that is growing by the minute thank to the Tory party thumbdown.gif

The figure was 1.4million and it originated from an apparent reliable source in Westminster. It wasn't made up by the snp.

Funnily enough, the figure has now been withdrawn.

Keep digging Dicko!

The claim was first made by Wings Over Scotland quoting a "reliable source" that it still hasn't named. The figure has been ridiculed by those who know the costs for these kind of things across many outlets now all citing the fact that the office concerned is so small with so few people to be interviewed that there is no chance in hell it would have cost anything like £1.4m.

But it did cost something so the fact still remains, he wasted tax payers money to cover up a lie and for that alone he should be out of a job.

Everyone ridiculed the cost that was quoted. It remains to date, the only figure. Strange that government hasn't thought it prudent to give a more 'accurate' figure?

Edit to remind proven liar that it was actually Paul Flynn, a labour MP, who first mentioned 1.4 million cost, claiming a 'reliable source'.

Fair enough - I'm not defending Carmichael. But you have to apply your logic equally. Therefore Salmond should also be out of a job for wasting tax payers money on fighting the Freedom of Information request in an attempt to cover up the fact that no such legal advice on EU Membership existed.

Aye funny that. He's named as the source by "Wings Over Scotland" who claim they saw a tweet from him that now no longer exists. A Tweet, it appears, that wasn't seen by anyone else! Not by anyone in the media, not by any SNP MPs, and not by anyone in his constituency. Wings Over Scotland is ofcourse the organisation that The Guardian cited as being the cybernat source of the figure that Stuart Hosie then started to quote on National Radio. Now if you want to talk about proven liars we know Wings Over Scotland has loads of previous on that matter whether it's claiming nurses are actors or claiming that members of the public are related to ex Glasgow Lord Provosts. .

I don't recall any nationalists on here writing they wanted David Cameron to win the election. Can you provide any evidence of that?

Dicko is right. I personally wanted the Tories in to further the cause of scottish independence.

It seems the bedroom tax, trident, several stupid and illegal wars, a massive democratic deficit, corruption over expenses, an illegitimate and undemocratic house of lords and a campaign waged against disabled people wasn't a good enough reason for Scots to vote to leave this corrupt UK state. It would therefore suggest that perhaps much more hardship is necessary to overcome the fear of losing 20p a week in pensions. The only people capable of inflicting genuine hardship on people are the Tories.

For the longer term good I wanted them to win.

Since this is a thread about Carmichael good of you to agree that he should be sacked. If you want to open a thread about Salmond feel free to carry on.

I only see STuDic's posts by proxy and this is one of those times.

Many people have requested a by election to give Carmichaels constituents a second chance after he was found out.

Waasn't Alex Salmond elected well after the incident StuD mentions

Many of the people who are requesting taxpayers money be wasted on a by election in Orkney and Shetland do not live in Orkney and Shetland and therefore had no vote there in either the General Election or indeed any subsequent by election. It seems a bit strange that a party that likes to push forward an agenda of local democracy has so many supporters determined to dictate democratic terms to an group of islands that have long said they don't support Scottish Independence.

However I'll play - lets drop Salmond and his lies for now and lets look at Sturgeon. She fought the General Election on a mandate of Full Fiscal Autonomy. She claimed it was vital for Scotland and that it was her red line policy to work with any Labour Government. Yet now in the latter stages of a negotiation process that will see more powers being devolved to Holyrood we find out that the SNP have dropped their demands for Full Fiscal Autonomy now that they have discovered it would leave Scotland with a £10Bn budget shortfall. Maybe we should give Scotland a chance to re run the General Election since Sturgeon so clearly lied.
