Celebrating Sma Shot's day today but if this fine weather keeps up I will probably just stay in the house or go the the pub. Whatever I choose I will celebrate my decision and the 4th July will always be remembered by me.

When I saw the thread title I wondered......Is McD a yank?

Anyway,my elbow will be bending this evening at a Wedding in Ardrossan.

Deferably not a yank. Enjoy the wedding. Ain't been in Ardrossan for years. Are there any good venues for wedding there nowadays?

Sowwy. :bag

Naaaah..... You're possibly correct. :P

I was thinking that each of them were cousin to my Maw - and that would have been a perfectly accurate way to describe it...

...then I subverted myself (ooooh Matron!) by using 'friends'.

So this is a memorable 4th of July - you got something right. :)

I'm celebrating Sean Batty and Judith Ralston actually getting today's weather forecast correct. They both said it would be pishing down, and it is.

Congratulations to both - first time in 2015 they've managed it.

Like a mcgills bus, you wait ages for 1 then 2 come along at the same time

A lovely Elderslie woman, still sharp as a tack and active, is 100 TODAY.

She and her sister were my Mother's cousin and great friends.

I'm hoping she has a great day. smile.png

I'll toast her health with my first swally tonight.

Never joined in our Thistle supporting friend dave.j's Elderslie thread but I've always liked the place for several reasons.

1. William Wallace.

2. I got very friendly with a Grammarian girl from Elderslie. And you know what they used to say about them. Eddy, if you read this, I know things changed a lot in later years. Allegedly.

3. Davy Orr lived there.

4. I liked playing fitba in the pitch beside the church.

5. There was a gorgeous lass at Camphill with me who was from Elderslie. She was a minister's daughter.

6. Had some good nights at the golf club.

That's probably crossed umpteen threads.

Nice thought. Good man. Me, too. :)

The fenced one? Was that no ashy...?

A minister's daughter...? Who? PM me.... :)

That's probably crossed umpteen threads.

You'll not be the first Buddie to have done that. In fact, I believe an industry could be created from simply that...

FFS faraway, maybe someone is not with us any more?

Hope you have a good day Bluto.

Great, Davidg, get it right up ye.

And... just to blunt your elation... davidg's suggestion was accurate.

Mah Maw is deid: the other two still going strong. :)

The orange muppets will be traipsing through Glasgow city centre today, no doubt creating a din with their flutes and drums.

Looking ridiculous and getting very wet, I hope.

If so, well worth celebrating.

What sort of time do these walks take place? Having a family day at the Quay, don't want to get stuck behind them on Paisley Road West.
