FT: Bodmin Town 4-3 Callington Town.

Cracking second half and 3-3 in added time. Bodmin had a last minute penalty, saved, only for another penalty to be conceded after the save. Second was scored and the win was sealed.

5th placed finish, bit disappointing for a club who's won this league a few times in recent years (and declined promotion opportunity).  Missed 4th by GD. Still can't complain too much.

Fair to say Cardiff had a strong side tonight  three penalties given too. Canny complain about seeing an EPL side for £10, and Cardiff fans are getting a few days holiday in Cornwall too (they played Tavistock two days ago, not sure if they have more to come). Great to see a side of that size come to this town, should have made some decent money today. We had Cardiff down last year (Championship side back then), and had Leeds and QPR in recent years under Warnock too, but not sure when an EPL side last visited.

This does seem to be a common occurance in Italy, big teams facing little teams in pre-season and sticking 20+ past them. No holding back!

Maybe we should play a lowland league team in a pre season game next season.

In truth I think it shows Saints should have at least had one or two 90 mins against some sort of opposition, even if it was amateur. Cardiff were able to try different tactics, move players into different positions, even finish the game with ten men when Warnock didn't bother with a sub for Mendez-Laing having a knock. At the very least it allows you to gain an understanding of each other and what the manager wants. It's better than going in blind on opening day. We did well v Killie because most of the XI knew each other already. Too many new bodies making a debut in a competitive game didn't do us any favours, nor did it help our usually decent players like Cammy Smith and Bairdy. Thank f**k we had captain McGinn who was clearly desperate to change the situation at hand.
