Er… I made no point. Merely noted an ironic historical reality.

I also like to hear other nations' anthems. Aye, with The Flower of Scotland blasting out, the Scottish support in full voice is something special. As for other national anthems, I don't give a flying so I wouldn't boo or join in.

Reading numerous reports, all saying the same thing that, for some reason, the wheels have come off the Tartan Army bus. We've two games before we kick off the tournament against Germany on Friday 14th June. Gibraltar away on the 3rd June and Finland at Hampden on Friday the 7th June. Clarke, who has overall been rightly praised, has to do something to shake the squad up. That's his job. As for the players, it's a mystery how "off the boil" they were last night and need to have a long look at themselves this morning. Here's a positive from a ex pro. when you've played the game you know you know 😊

Better than all our other midfielders who play in one of the most competitive leagues in the world? I personally don’t agree. It’s all about opinions I guess. There's been plenty young players who have potential, not many become legends. Easy to throw opinions around, pundits, and the general public, will say anything to attract attention. 😉
faraway saint
Some interesting views on Gilmour. I happen to think he's got a wee bit about him but he's no John McGinn or Kenny Dalglish. https://forum.pinkun.com/index.php?/topic/150532-billy-gilmour-and-a-tweet-that-aged-well-not/ Edited March 30 by faraway saint

Great player who's at his peak, Billy Gilmore is 8 years younger can see him becoming Scotland's most capped player

faraway saint
The underrated Che Adams has been scoring regularly for a high flying Southampton this season. 2nd top scorer with 15 goals. The English Championship is a pretty decent level.
faraway saint
Squad sizes have increased from 23 to 26. Not sure we have the depth of squad to add 3 players who would improve our starting 11.

I think in our case it's more about cover and might allow us to take a risk on a player who is recovering from injury and "might" just make it. With the injuries in our defensive positions it will allow other names to come in. I'm just concerned about our lack of quality althout Patterson, a player I've had confidence in, did have a recent nightmare, possibly down to a lack of time on the pitch. Aye, hopefully Hickey can get fit (I prefer him to Patterson) but even if he's 90% fit this allows us to take him and someone else (Stephen O'Donnell probably if history is anything to go by). It could also allow us to push Tierney over to RWB if required.

Anyhow, roll on 14th June, hope you've got your motor home journey planned. 👍

Flights to Stuttgart all sorted, Motorhome booked and pick-up arranged with 70% of our berths booked.....trying to leave a little flexibility between games to maybe head into Black Forest area etc. Can't wait for it to be honest although a little concerned about two weeks in a confined space with the Mrs and our youngest (20yo) daughter Edited Wednesday at 01:30 PM by WeeBud
