    9. St.Mirren For Sale

The majority shareholding in the club was up for sale for 7 years! Eventually the shareholding was purchased by Gordon Scott and SMiSA in July 2016 with almost 1300 supporters contributing to the successful bid.

This forum is now really just an archive of some of the threads that took place in that 7 year period.  ps; Anyone mentions the Argies they get banned.

    • Has Mark O'Hara been rushed back too quickly?  He's not up to his full speed yet, which is understandable given his recent injury woes (two different things I believe?)  He's one of my favourite players and he's done tremendously well for us for most of his time here. I fully agree with this. Scottish Football is basically the backwater of Association Football.  We've regressed as a league dramatically over the past twenty or even thirty years or so and cheap imports of players who were regarded as mediocre in their own countries didn't help.
    • Maybe you could take your own advice?   If there was a Champions League for being a boring, repetitive, obnoxious, self promoting, pompous arsehole, you'd win every year by a country mile!
    • I think today's game is up there with the poorest matches I've ever attended.  Neither team covered themselves in glory and it was a poor advert for Scottish Football.  Indeed, neither team deserved all three points and unfortunately for us we weren't the team that got them. The one thing about football that all football fans could possibly agree on is that we all see things differently.  For example, I thought Liam Donnelly did quite well, especially when moved into defence.  My season ticket seat is quite low down in the West Stand and I saw him, in the Second-Half especially, making a lot of important tackles and making a number of important interceptions down the right-hand side which crucially stopped Rangers players getting towards our box.  Would I have preferred Jayden Richardson in that position, of course I would have but we unfortunately lost him after his clash of heads with Alex Gogić.  Liam Donnelly did well given it wasn't his usual position.  He was also involved in some nice play with Mark O'Hara, Dan Nlundulu and Jonah Ayunga (it was nice to see big Jonah back). Anyway, we seemed to be a bit lackadaisical at the back for the Rangers goal and, that goal apart, I felt we were fairly comfortable. There was a huge improvement in performance in the Second-Half and with a bit of luck we might have managed an equaliser and got a deserved point as we were no better and no worse than they were.  I don't like saying this about any St. Mirren player but I just can't see what Allan Campbell is supposed to be bringing to us.  Yes, he runs about a lot and tries to get on the ball but I can't see a positive end to his runs and passes. Jacob Devaney is a class player and I hope we see him starting more games between now and the end of the season. Hopefully Jayden Richardson will be okay as we really can't afford any more injuries at this stage of the season. Hopefully the interim coaching team can get enough out of the players while they're in charge to keep us away from automatic relegation and the playoff slot.
