the very fact that you highlight a single goal from 3 years ago actually destroys your point and makes mine
5% of goals come from a move that starts at the back
70% of goals come from a move that starts with a regain of possession in the attacking third
go figure which 'gamble' is likely to pay better dividends

you cycle alongside him or in a group at a pace you can all chat at.
what is difficult to understand about that?
i cycle 18 miles a day as part of my commute but have never cycled as part of a group.
howeve, i used to train for running with a group before my knee forced me to quit and the majority of runs were at a pace you talk
even with the faster runs, you could still chat on the run to the session and back again
i used to run on the cycle track in paisley quite a bit and regularly had groups of chatting cyclists coming by
running and cycling are fantastic social sports

The bod are in utter desperation imo
they recently thought they had a deal and its obviously fallen through
and they now own more than 52% in the process
i don't think they know what they are doing

I wouldn't give teale the job
the very fact that we lost a goal at parkhead by losing possession in defence after a pass from the keeper rules him out imo
it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that you don't try and pass your way out of defence, particularly at parkhead
losing 3 goals in the first 20 mins? Clueless
allowing David longwell to assist him? Clueless
teale and longwell should both go

The reason that TC was appointed is because the BoD thought that the sale of the club was just around the corner. Literally. They thought they could save Lennon's wages by getting shot of him and appoint the "brains" in TC and it would save them the hassle of looking for a new manager.
They let it go this long before sacking TC because they still thought the sale of the club was around the corner and they'd leave the responsibility up to the new owners.
Its my belief that the sale of the club has fallen through and the brutal realisation that they were stuck with the club, stuck with a clueless manager and heading for the Championship sunk in.
I believe it can still be turned around. We need to get in a decent manager and hope he can conjure up a couple of decent transfers in the window. We need a half decent striker, we need to get in a centre half to replace the hopeless McAusland and we need to stop these ridiculous passing tactics.
I don't want to be reading the line "St. Mirren conceded another goal when McAusland lost possession after receiving a pass from Ridgers" ever again.

You have been in the training ground with him ?
You realise he has played at the highest level.
Im not saying he is the man however if gets results in the coming weeks he will be made manager. Why the hell would you want to bring in someone new if you have someone within saving money to bring in a decent centre back in January. That's how I would play it.
However this is st mirren fans so kick the shit out of someone before they can prove themselves

    miller's signings were mixed
he played a blinder in getting cooper, Hamilton & Chalmers for peanuts
and of course he signed Ian ferguson
reading that back, in fact, these were incredible signings
he also signed Kenny mcdowall... A name to be debated...
the signings that i found a bit dodgy were jim Rooney, Brian Gallagher and peter mackie
Rooney, gallagher & mcdowall did a turn but there were a few players available in that era who i was disappointed we missed, eg Robert Connor, john brown, john colquhoun, Craig levein, Gordon durie, tommy coyne and Keith wright.
if miller had signed a couple of these guys instead then he's have gone down as a love street all time great

Has the SNP employed Lord Haw Haw?
Nobody was duped into voting NO. The last minute promises made a negligible difference.
Meanwhile, the SNP spin machine has its subjects convinced otherwise.
Meanwhile, the SNP spin doctors are convincing its subjects that evil labour must be killed for siding with the tories.
What shite! Labour has been in turmoil for years with Blair and Brown making them unelectable... sod all to do with their stance on independence... ironically the one decision they have got right in years.
As was stated to earlier... 63% of eligible voters did NOT vote for independence.
Gonnae stop stamping your feet like a two year old wanting a sweetie and grow up! Democracy is not about throwing tantrums until you get what you want... regardless of what Saint Nicola tells you.

    Gus Macpherson for me
Saved us from relegation to the Second Division
    Got us into the SPL
Kept us in the SPL 4 seasons in a row (the first 2 of which he managed with a £3 million debt and no training ground)
Who can forget some of those classic wins when it really mattered - up at Dingwall to effectively clinch the title, 3-2 at Fir Park after going 2-0 down, the 2-0 win at Falkirk.
When Gus arrived we had just conceded 72 league goals in the First Division. He immediately sorted out the defence and used that as the base.
    That is what we need.
    Get him back now.

Agreed Drew, I think this is an excellent debate with some forthright and weighty opinions. Back in May we had all barely logged in and warmed up the fingers and it was all over (quite literally as it turned out).
This time it feels like a more considered and professional approach is being taken by the club with regard to appreciating who is out there, and what each candidate might bring. I'm a proponent of zero'ing in on a manager who can deliver survival over 22 games, so it's been great to read the opinion of others who believe it's a better approach to think longer term, even to the extent of, if the worst happens, who would be best placed to get us back out of the Championship. All good.
