A reputation that is intact, err, except for the sackings of Fitzpatrick, Hendrie & Coughlin mid season and the end of season sackings of the manager who led us from the doldrums of the First Division to establishment in the SPL and the guy who won us the League Cup...
If the BoD can sack these guys then surely they can sack possibly the worst manager in the club's entire history. Indeed, possibly the worst manager in football history!

I suspect there is an end of season performance clause in his contract, a bit like the one that allowed Kilmarnock to sack Sheils.
The problem with that however is that if we sack him now then the clause never kicks in.
Just my guessing....
But... nevertheless... whatever the contract has in it... what a mess!

I remember the majority of Falkirk fans told us that Michael Higdon was shite.
And then the majority of St. Mirren fans told the Motherwell fans that Higdon was shite.
The guy who sat behind me in the main stand every week in Higdon's last season was continually banging on about how shite Higdon was.
The fact is that most football fans are clueless and haven't got a clue what they are watching.

Ball & Marwood on the bench along with Teale plus the signing of the permanently injured Osbourne. If TC hadn't wasted his transfer budget then that's 4 wages that could have been used for 4 players in the starting XI. And Goodwin is suspended.
That's 50% of the outfield team.
TC is to blame - not the injuries.

That is indeed Brian McLean formerly of Motherwell of Lanarkshire footballing club.
He was a decent player several years back and I distinctly recall a story whereby a Mr Angus McPherson made attempts to sign said Brian McLean but alas was unsuccessful in his endeavours, unsuccessful indeed.
I see the forum has thrown up a plethora of footballing experts who are able to judge accurately the abilities of Mr Brian McLean without seeing him play. Why did we bother with a trial....Tommy should have just started a thread on here!!!!

Question
would we be better off just now if we had mcgowan instead of Reilly and magennis instead of ball?
and possibly carey instead of wylde?
i think we would
mcgowan, magennis and carey are not world beaters but they are better than the players that replaced them!

Yardley scored 27 league goals in his only season in senior football before joining st Mirren, finishing as top scorer in Scotland.
are you saying that wasn't successful?
lee mair had decent spells at Dundee, Aberdeen & Dundee united, just as decent as his time at st mirren
Stephen mcginn's career has suffered from injury
Jim Goodwin played hundreds of games in england
Steven Thompson won Scotland caps at Dundee united and earned a big money move to rangers. He earned a fortune playing in England.
this is the inconvenient truth
ho hum!
