I'd a very similar conversation with an ex-SPFL manager on Thursday. I'd be prepared to accept a relegation if we were going down the route of building a club ethos from top to bottom, basically getting the right people in at all levels to maximise our potential but ensuring that they are all sharing the same strategic vision.
He'd never touch us with a barge pole I suspect, but I'd like someone as determined as Ian Cathro as his views on player development appear great and he also talks positively about building a team of the right people around him and that doesn't mean the same old faces.

I would agree that if you can make the effort to speak to someone you are likely to get offered a good service, and can vouch for the work Ross does with Panda club and similar. However in this day and age there should be more promotion of what we can offer without relying on fans to make effort to chase down someone at the club, assuming they know the person to speak to. We should be listing things better on the Official site about what is available, it wouldn't take huge efforts to make it happen just some proactive thinking rather than reactive. We have facilities that are sitting redundant for most of the week that we should be securing some bookings and income for.

Don't you know we don't read applications now ;) However if you're already at the club, even making the tea, you're in with a shout

I expect around 1,000 at the cup game next week.
And I won't be one of them, I haven't missed a home game through choice in my entire life. This is a first.

This is almost as bad during the heady days of Bone. Would dutifully go and watch another turgid 90 minutes watching seasoned performers such as Gardner, Eck Bone, David Byrne (naw, no of Talking Heads), Jobby Law amongst others strut their stuff. Then after the usual defeat to the likes of Hamilton Accies would dutifully wander along to either Joe Allen's or Langs, drown my sorrows and wonder out loud why we put up with such mediocrity. And would go home feeling like absolute shit wondering whether we would ever see the glory days of the 70's and 80's ever again.
Now though? Just as bad as those days but have got the stage of almost past caring, a feeling I don't like one bit. Can't get myself up to be angry anymore. It's almost a case of bracing yourself for the inevitable shit performance and defeat and then moving on. A feeling that I had after the Thistle game.
The stagnation round the Club is so obvious it is stinking the place out. Sad times.

There are 6 of us who sit together regularly and have done since we were in our teens. Next week, at 30 years old will be the first time in my entire adult life that I have willfully missed a home game, despite not being otherwise engaged. The same can be said for all 6 of us, This isn't an organised boycott, we're simply tired of throwing money at a product which isn't only shite (I mean we've been there through Bone, Fitzy, Coughlin and parts of Gus and Danny), but is completely filled with apathy.
In fact, we're already booked (but not paid yet) for hospitality on the 6th of December for our Xmas day (and night) out and we've only in the past hour been discussing canning that altogether on the grounds that we're going to end up pretty f**king depressed, combined with the fact that at least one of us may end up with a lengthy ban from the club if we encounter a now standard performance and we decide to make our feelings known.

We already had Osbourne, McGinn, McLean, and Goodwin for central midfield spots so at that time he wasn't going to be able to get regular games. Injuries have resulted in us scrambling and putting players into roles they are uncomfortable, by which time he'd been loaned out.

Saturday was the first time I recall a chant telling our manager to GTF for quite a while. Can't remember similar for Danny or Gus, even when they were disliked by many, might be back to Coughlin for that.

    Lifted from the BBC...
"While the SFA has its own rules on dual ownership, the Premier League in England does not. The Football League does, though, along with Uefa, which means that if Ashley sought to increase his stake further - by challenging the SFA's stance in the courts - and Newcastle were relegated, or both Newcastle and Rangers qualified for Europe in future seasons, he would face further problems.
If Ashley did seek to raise his stake in Rangers, particularly if he was presented as the only viable option to the club's funding crisis, the SFA board would need to vote on the matter."

I ran again this year, 3rd year running...managed under 2hrs (just), which was ok considering I pulled a muscle in my back and was in A&E 6 weeks ago.
Saw quite a few of the reverse rett t shirts on way round. Knew I'd heard about it before but couldn't remember what from, but now remember it was Mavis via here

I'm expecting that there is a combination of caricatures (sorry..campaigners) outside. A Scottish Mrs Doyle representing the yes camp "go on, go on, go on, go on"... and an ex-girlfriend type representing no "please give us one more chance" as she's worried it's over.
