In terms of quality the current tournament is mediocre, in terms of finance it's clearly a loss leader for tapping into the women's market.
What happens in the future is anybody's guess but this is 2019, the former is my opinion and I stand by it, the latter should have been self-evident but I provided evidence that the professional league down is losing money and that the tournament in question is subsidised and piggybacking on the men's game.

Regarding John, it will depend if Hibs have a clause about his promotion in their agreement with Villa. If they do we would be entitled to a percentage of that, but I don't know if they have that clause. My guess is that they will, but the amount we would get won't be huge, although a nice bonus if it does come

Fair points. There'll be no spitting the dummy from me if the resolution is not successful either.
As you say, the option has always been to spend. Having "Save the Pot" as an option should satisfy me and other like minded folk who have been arguing for it's inclusion for some time. I say should as I cannot speak for others but know, it will satisfy me. The members can then decide to spend or save and it stops folk like me thinking "bleeding eck! Footballs for a professional football club??? whatever next " when notification of the votes goes out.
My discussions with SMISA have been open, honest and respectful. Disagreeing with each other is part of life. We can disagree and argue our points without falling out.

If and i know it's a big if, the proposal was voted through and the option to save every spend was successful each and every time, it would generate over £200,000 (at current member numbers) which would be very useful come the year 2026.

If the spend options are appropriate, they'll get my vote too and that is what I would expect of every member. My entire agenda is for the members to be given an option to save the pot if they feel that is appropriate.

If members don't want it they will not vote for it. If it complicates the voting system as the board have said, then why do the other options not complicate the voting system. If they want one less option, i would say that this option could replace the "save until the next vote" option.

A great proposal which I fully support. 
If the spend options are appropriate, they will get my support as priority but I will never support spend for spends sake and this gives a perfectly reasonable alternative.
 
I was surprised at the wording of the SMISA reply though, as they are not just presenting the option for the membership to decide, but essentially advising to vote against it!
 
If this was a political party, they are essentially trying to use the whip!
 

To summarise Smisa's response, "no fecking way are we accepting a lowly member's proposal, ffs! Do you think we are going to tell Gordon we arent giving him anymore money for carefully considered options like.. matchballs and hand dryers?
i admire you're detailed approach, but you are actually up against the club, and as was evidenced when Smisa members had the temerity to decide to donate some of THEIR funds to a long established youth community football club, the chairman went Radio feckin Rental.

Members of SMISA will have received formal notification of the SMISA AGM on Saturday 30th March. Within this notification is notice that I have submitted a Members Resolution Proposal in accordance with Rule 26 of SMISA's constitution.
That  Resolution is to add the option ‘Save this Discretionary Spend Pot’ as a voting option for the members in the next and all future SMISA members Discretionary Spend Votes. I have attached the proposal along with SMISA's response/counter that was sent to the members also.
I have been quite vociferous in my objections to some of the options presented to the membership and have championed having an option for "Saving the Pot" for when the Buds is Bought since virtually day one.
The proposal is to add the option to save the pot to every vote to allow the members the choice to save or spend, especially when less inspiring options are presented to us. The proposal is not to replace options but to always be an option available to the membership if they wish to vote to save the pot.
I met with 2 members of the SMISA committee in November, which I thank them for their time. Our discussions were constructive and healthy. I have since exchanged a couple of emails with them too. The one thing that was apparent is, the 3 of us all want the same thing and that is the betterment of St Mirren FC. We just see how that is achieved ever so slightly differently.
Both my proposal and SMISA's counter are attached for your consideration. I will however, post a response to SMISA's counter argument separately.
For this to be passed, it requires votes in favour. If you cannot make SMISA's AGM (hopefully you can), please consider giving me your proxy vote to vote on your behalf. Thank you.

A member wishing to propose a members’ resolution for consideration at a general meeting shall give notice in writing to the Secretary of such wish, and of the justification for, form and content of the resolution, not later than noon 28 days before that meeting is to be held. The following provisions apply to any directions given:
26.1 any direction must:
26.1.1 be consistent with these Rules and with the Society’s contractual, statutory and other legal obligations; and
26.1.2 not affect the powers and responsibilities of the Society Board under Rule 27.

I prefer to get to the ground as near kick-off as possible, especially in winter. The principal of buying a season ticket is to give the club money up front to use at the start of the season and as an incentive your seat is reserved for you. I would not change that.

Just bought a ticket for my own seat. the seating plan did not show it or any around it as available, so maybe they have fixed the error.

10 or 11 players in at the window, then we can comment on Orans' prowess, we certainly need to lose those who wre just going through the motions yesterday.
 

In my opinion it would make sense saving as much as we can to give us a good start when we buy the majority share. We have seen Gordon ask for financial help a few times now which would suggest we are going to need to do the same, that is why we should save money, Get to the amount we need to seal the deal, lock it away until then and lock away any excess until then.
For an example , the astroturf at Ralston could be in need of replacement at the same time as we take over.

Watched Saturday's game on the telly, just couldn't muster the will for the six hour round trip, rain, bigot infestation and the eventual final outcome. What did hit me between the ears though was the programme on sky before the game 'SPFL Matters' where Boyd and Commons were interviewing big Anton.
The as you would expect they were on about being in Rio's shadow, playing in the EPL etc, but big Anton put them firmly in their place when they did eventually get onto talking about St Mirren. They asked him something like 'how frustrating/demoralising is i, when your teammates just arent up to it?' He chopped them down straight away by saying very clearly 'we are all frustrated, but at the business end of the season, when there are others round about us, WE WILL stay up!'
having seen how Erhahon, Jones, Edwards, etc got on, I Believe Anton.... i think despite the now monotonous, feeling sorry for yourself, excuse ridden drivel being peddled by some about 'Stubbs Duds'. We already have the players, quality, desire and passion in the squad to remain in this league, and that will start this weekend in Dundee. The squad can go there with their heads held high to get a win and push Dundee down below the surface.
We will start to claw our way back in Dundee, it will be a long, bitter hard fought battle till May, but I believe Anton will lead us through it, and show his qualities in leadership, professionalism and team work. Youre not going to hear him whingeing about his teammates! A lesson a few others should take!

I do like the new hand drier in the west stand toilet. but i think the club should have a maintenance budget that covers replacement of standard equipment, it's not an emergency situation and just seems to be a reason to spend money because someone asked for it.
I'm considering an option on my subscription, this would be to save my cash in my own account and hand it over (plus any interest) when the time comes to buy the shares.

Great to see a community option, but to have SMiSA funding the Community Trust? Does this mean SMiSA will no longer look to run their own community projects? More worrying, are the Community Trust now the second club related Trust incapable of securing community funding?
