So we have paid the wages for the sports scientist for one year before the bowl gets passed around again?

Smisa needs to grow a bit more of a spine and be willing to say these should be cost already accounted for within the running of the club.

Pretty disappointed in the spending choices.

Sports scientist should be in the club budget without Smisa spending.

Extra weights for the training ground could easily been deducted from players wages.

I feel Smisa money should be for emergencies or for the greater good, not making up the shortfall in the budget for the team. We can't keep going on in this manner when we fully own the club.

    With the current squad;
    1. Dundee Utd - With the talk of their financial difficulties, I reckon they'll properly go all out to ensure they get promoted. Should still have the biggest budget in the league.
    2. Falkirk - Loy is a great signing and should guarantee goals. Houston always has his teams challenging.
    3. ICT - Probably have strong home form which will see them challenging for 2nd
    4. Morton - If they avoid injuries they had in the second half of the season, Duffy actually strengthens in January, if they need it and their signings perform as expected on paper.
    5. St. Mirren - Reckon we'll have a pretty average season. My main worry is who is going to fill the void left by Mallan, not only in goals and assists but generally dictating games. I think we'll struggle for goals.
    6. Dunfermline - Very similar to us, in terms of potentially missing that bit of quality or edge to push them into the playoff spots
    7. Livingstone - Reckon they'll be hard to play against
    8. QotS - Over reliant on Dobbie?
    9. Dumbarton - Will probably cause a few upsets but will struggle to maintain runs of form. Will stay up in the playoffs.
    10. Brechin - Part time new boys will struggle
One of the teams 1st to 4th is probably going to have a stinker of a season and blow my prediction out the water.
5th to 8th can all be pretty interchangeable

I'm bemused why anyone wants to watch us again this season.

Results, results, and again results, it's all that matters. For all well we've been playing I want us safe and giving management an extra few weeks to shape their team for next season, as let's face it, it'll be pretty different.

I hope we sneak a draw or a win against Hibs, who will be up for it on the day, with them lifting another trophy.

Surprised its not been mentioned, but apologies if it has. We looked out of sorts for the first 20 minutes, only when Ross told Smith to drop into midfield to make a 5 did we actually get a foothold in the game.

    This deserves its own thread.
I reckon Mallan's 3rd (yes, it WAS a hattrick) is the best goal I have seen scored at the 2021 Stadium. Arguably, it is the best goal I have ever seen scored by a St Mirren player.
I'll need to see it again, but I had to give myself a wee pinch to check that it actually happened. I was sitting just to the left of the goal in the South Stand, so had a fantastic view of it. It was one of these goals that you simply have to shake your head at, as it just didn't seem plausible.
I could see the white of his eyes, and Stevie knew exactly what he was looking to do with that strike.
Arise, Sir Stevie Mallan - what a memorable hit that was!

Need to do better in the second half. Pretty disjointed so far. Hopefully some tweaks can get us going in the second half.

    Nope.

Scores goals in the box though. 100th appearance and goal.

    Legend.

No to the hall of fame boards. Seems overly expensive.

No to the season tickets. We aren't exactly selling out games so I don't see why we'd have to buy the season tickets. The club should be doing more regarding ticket pricing to make football accessible for all.

No to the youth sponsorship. I'd prefer we used it to give free football for young people of a certain age. Get involved with something along what the charity McLaren works with. Get as many people benefiting rather than one team.

I'm just repeating posts I made when AR was sacked.

Why was he sacked? Cause we were bottom. What was the new managers objective? Get us off bottom.

Simple really. And not too hard either. We were what, (from memory) 4 points off bottom when we changed manager.

And we were chasing clubs with a fraction of the budget of ourselves. Teams like Ayr and Dumbarton simply couldn't get players like Loy, McGinn and Smith. Their budget doesn't stretch that far, ours does.

Yet despite this... they're all still ahead of us. Despite all these favouring factors, we are still 10th.

Still 10th and we've played a game more than 9th.
As i said when AR was sacked. The new manager (whoever he is) should be given a contract to the end of the season.

If he keeps us up he should get the summer to build his own team. If he takes us down he should be sacked.

    Nothing to add.
