If that's true it just confirms for me that the sacking was premature and if we are relegated it will be largely GS's fault.

Aber, Murray , Goodwin dont need to say anymore. 

Rae was actually sacked in mid-September.
I've already said many times that I would agree the football under Rae was almost always fairly dire to watch. I've also said I would like Jack Ross to succeed with the club in the short and long term. I don't think it is much of a leap to say that had Rae been given more time results would have got better and we would have won some league games. Ross's cup record is used in his favour, almost half of our cup wins this season came under Alex Rae. Why is it important to count cup wins among the evidence to support continuing with Jack Ross even if we get relegated but cup wins under Rae are somehow irrelevant in taking into account Rae's record? Rae also had injuries to Morgan, Quinn, MacKenzie, Gordon, and McAllister during his 6 league games where we struggled to get results.

I am behind Jack, BUT lets say we do go down then the beneath games have been disasters
0-3 QOS. They hadnt won in months
0-1 Sons- Poor tactics and got suckered
0-1 PARS again poor tactics got wrong
1-1 Ton , 2-2 Sons- Cant hold on to a lead
1-1 Ayr poor Tactics miss another pen
 
So that's 17 league games and I  highlighted     35% of them, all must win games , 15 lost points and main reason we haven't gained.....
BUT- Last 12 games , mainly Cups P 12 W6 D3 L3............... Do that in our last 13 and  that 21 points,   reckon that will secure us 9th.................
I reckon under Jack we play ok however we have not shown any spine under him, that now has to change

Ayr have not won a league game since 22nd October - 17 weeks ago. In all that time we have made up a grand total of 2 points on them. The reason why Jack Ross should be under some pressure if things stay the way they are now is that since he has been in change almost the entire league has pulled away from us: the gap between us and Morton went from 8 points to 27; the gap between us and Dumbarton went from 2 points to 12; the gap between us and Dunfermline went from 3 points to 12 ; the gap between us and Queen of the South went from 14 points to 17; even Raith Rovers had a gap of 13 points on us and after their disastrous run they still sit 12 points ahead of us - all of which suggests to me that under Jack Ross we have been on our own disastrous run(s).   
Ayr, Dumbarton, Raith Rovers, Dunfermline and Queen of the South have either had bad starts to the season, or are part-time teams or have had horrendous bad runs which hae seen managers getting sacked and despite that St Mirren have made no positive impression on catching any of these times when calamity has struck them. Ayr may well end up staying up despite not winning a league game since October and if that scenario did unfold then I wouldn't lose much sleep if the BoD told Ross he would not be in charge next season - likewise if our winless stretch in the league continued much longer.

It seems that some are stating, quite clearly, that, no matter what, JR should stay as manager for next season.
If you were running a business and had made a few wrong choices would you then stick with your new manager even if the business was heading into oblivion?
If so, maybe running a business, or understanding business, is something you should re-evaluate.

Tommy Craig was properly horrific. Massive blunder by old BOD.

I honestly don't think we are seen as the sacking club of Scottish football, I think we simply made a few really bad appointments in a row and haven't recovered from them.
As a few people have said the rot didn't start with not renewing Danny's contract, it started with appointing Tommy Craig. Everything we have done since has been in an attempt to recover.
Murray was a reasonably popular choice but ultimately failed and Rae was no ones choice but did well until he lost the manual on 'how to build a squad' during the summer. I don't think either would have got through the doors though if Craig hadn't relegated us.

Beat the odds against Dundee and we were far from our best on Saturday, so yes I'd say we have been lucky to get to this point.  Have you seen the way our league campaign has went...

Completely off topic but.................I must be honest bud and say I don't get the constant references on here to SAF as some sort of yardstick for rookie managers at St Mirren. The guy is probably the greatest living manager and maybe the greatest of all time. He was an anomaly for a club like ours and I don't think British football will ever see his like again, let alone us.
For every SAF, football is littered with far more Gary Locke's and Ian Murrays.

Dumferline and Morton not so long ago were in League One and they couldn't beat lots of Part time teams.........
 
I am not on drugs ( however!!) but its still with us..... I expect to see a fight.... If I do then I am sure we will be ok. If I don't then thank god most players are on short term deals, and no more stupid pay offs

10 new players is a big difference.

The reason I moved from the north bank to our new main stand was to get away from foul mouths shouting abuse at players. This the one thing that could keep me away from football. We are there to support the team the day the twats become the main noise is the day I chuck football. I'm not there to listen to headless chickens shouting abuse at young boys. 

The buck stops with Stevie Mallan as to why he hasn't done it in the Scottish Championship. Nobody else. Blaming fans is a nonsense. He has talent no doubt but for me he has went backwards. Maybe that is the situation at the club etc but I doubt it, I think the buck stops at Stevies door. At the moment he wouldn't get near the Barnsley first eleven. I seen piles of English football at Championship level, 75 of the 92 teams and some 2 and 3 times over and he's way short at the moment. The potential is there but for me if he went to Barnsley he would be there a couple of seasons and no more. We have a guy who has been released by Wycombe in English League 2 who is head and shoulders above him at the moment. What McGinn is doing is what Steve Mallan should have been doing all season. 
Do we really think if it was just an issue whith what position he was playing that JR wouldn't accomodate it given where we are?

I agree, imagine having fond memories for a man who kept us in this shit league. What is bizarre is how many supporters focused on him being an ex Rangers player rather than a St Mirren manager.
