What gives you this impression. Not getting all this conspiracy stuff. All 12 teams agreed to the Covid postponement rules before a ball was kicked. We don't meet them as it stands so rightly need to play the game. Better it's the green filth than the Fakes or RC !

BBC were reporting live from the ground and said after this morning's PCR results the game is on. If it's 11 positive or isolating including non playing staff I'm not sure the team will be as weak as folk are thinking it might be especially as the reporter said we have 8 1st team squad available although that might be 5 out field and 3 keepers or it could be 7 out field and 1 keeper. Just need to wait and see the team sheet.

So 8 1st team squad available according to BBC. Team might not be quite as weak as some are thinking but bench will be skin to a nursery I expect.

In classic donkeyesque tinpot SPFL style the game will be postponed at 5.30 or something mental like that.

Surprised you even need to put an alternative out there !

Anyway have the latest test results come back yet, floodlights failed, sprinklers been left on all night etc etc ?

Just checked current rules are min 13 players 1 of which must be a keeper and of those 13 there must be 8 aged 18 or older. As of now we must meet the minimum requirements or the game would have been postponed.

I suspect it will pan out as you predict. There will be "devepments" in the morning. It would be classic SPFL to go for the late call off with fans having set off travelling needlessly. That said the thought of a few mutants experiencing a late call off having crossed the Irish sea doesn't overly disappoint me [emoji57]

When do you ever see a manager watch opponents in with supporters. It clearly wasn't that scenario. Game was live on TV he should not have been there but only in the Covid sense. Madness amidst an outbreak at the club for him to mix in amongst supporters .

Does anyone know who is available. Clearly the earlier stuff about 13 fit inc 3 keepers was nonsense given we haven't met the criteria for a postponement. Be good to know who / how many were available at least to make a decision whether to travel up for the game or give it a miss.

I'm more concerned about Goodwin being there given the Covid situation at the club. Not really a good look when we are asking for postponments just 48hrs later.

This should be decommissioned immediately. Totally played out and as limp as a week old lettuce. This series has been utterly cringeworthy which is a shame as it used to be decent.

I see the dome is down again.
Looking at the area around it ,it is possible to build a full size inside football pitch with changing rooms similar to the coveted one in Toryglen ,this would be a great addition to the club ,the town, and the community (most deprived  area in Scotland)It could be used for multiple  sports and events.
This would be a good project for Kibble to commit to the area  and run as a community venture.

We are like a stuck record (vinyl)...........
Same old problem year on year. We have theoretically tightened up our defence and we have a capable mid-field but we have had no real poacher goal threat since........... let me think now......?
Probably Mark Yardley (2003), Dougie Somner (1983), Frank McDougall (1984) or Barry Lavety (2004) who have been our most recent goal threats. Whilst these mentioned were good in front of goal, our best instinctive goal scorer still probably remains as Gerry Baker
That is a sad fact. Yes there have been various players since Baker that have donned the black & white jersey who have been quite good in the penalty box but Gerry stands out like a Jim Forrest or a Mo Johnston.
Baker's average over 3 playing seasons was 22 goals. Compare that with Lavety - 7 goals a season, Yardley - 8 goals per season, McDougall - 11 per season, Somner - 13 per season.
So as much as we complain at not sticking the ball in the net, despite getting into scoring positions, we haven't had anyone that regularly hits the net for 17 years and probably more as Barry wasn't too proficient in his latter years. What we have are players who aren't sharp enough despite the training, because they have to work blo*dy hard to get into the scoring positions however they aren't instinctive so they don't anticipate to move into, or be in the position that true goal scorers do. An amusing example of this is Jota playing for Liverpool on Saturday - he got into the position then didn't have the composure to finish it off, instead he just didn't take a look or take a second and place the ball (if you haven't seen it, it's worth watching how not to try and score).
So what Alnwick is saying is true. He was at Rangers and he will have seen natural goal scorers in action on a daily basis at training and in his occasional run outs for the 1st team. We haven't anything near that ability, but to find it you either have to pay quite a lot of money, accidentally find a gem who will leave you after a couple of seasons, or keep trying to find a journeyman who might just come good for a season or two. So far none of these has appeared for 17+ years and counting.........

I think you are slightly missing the point here. Of course he won't sign anything we can offer him and everyone connected to the club including Goody know that. This is about being seen to be doing all we can yet knowing full well it won't be enough. I suspect we will have made an offer we know is well outwith our wage structure on that very basis ie that Jamie is highly unlikely to sign it no matter what.
Jamie will go and the club can legitimately say we did all we can to prevent it. They owe that to the fans especially with majority ownership, that's what this is all about.

Of course that is the case. This is no criticism of the club, we are absolutely right to be asking the question and its a no lose situation for us. Just seems some fans thought he might be signing it - of course he won't be (barring some exceptional event like a leg break between now and January). This is just good PR from the club.
