I took a Grenockian dame home and woke up with a sair heed and a heavy dose of the Billy Clabby

Lex got a reaction from E=Mc2 in Stabbed In The Back
You don't know he's been stabbed in the back at all.
Anyway, if he has, who cares? It's a big bad world out there. Danny will get a new job, he and we move on.
Tommy Craig is our new manager, let's all get behind him and our club.

I did say that before Danny left the club, I naively assumed if Danny left Tommy would be going with him. Oh well... It's been emotional ;)

I may be in a minority but I am reasonably pleased with this appointment. I would prefer TC above many other names given. TC has the Newcastle connections and good connections in the game. He is a recognised expert in youth development and coaching. And with 11 players out of contract he knows who to keep before they all vanish in the next week with other clubs sniffing about the likes of Goodwin etc. Teale will not play much I would imagine so a player-coach is a good role for him. And with Goody having a lot more responsibility he may curb the wildness in his game. And appartently Thommo just wants to concentrate in playing for a bit longer. Not only have we kept some stability we have probably kept some of our better players.
I, for one, am behind the new team. Bring on the new season (just not the now - I need a holiday)

Well I don't. Danny is a nice guy in public and because he won a cup he is a club legend.
However, he was well paid to do a job in his time here and he leaves with his reputation intact.
There are plenty of ex players who will tell you a story about being stabbed in the back by Danny, right back to John Potter and Gareth Wardlaw, right up to Lee Mair and 3 seasons worth in between. Forgive me if i lack sympathy now it's apparently happened to him.
He's history, let's move on and look forward.

Lex got a reaction from BAWZ in John Collins
Funny how the same people who've been championing Danny's League Cup win are asking what Collins has done in management
I'm sure many people have referred to Alex Ferguson as a 'knob'. Being a nice guy isn't a required skill for being a good manager.

It's definitely growing on me.
We will get fresh coaching ideas and contacts from Teale and Goodwin. We will retain and perhaps enhance our relationship with Newcastle United, along from benefitting from Tommy's large network.
I think we could be onto something here

I have worked with people in a team where there are clashes of personality and a view that the team leader was not the person for the job. But the projects got finished and only then did the setup change when the job was done.
DL had a contract and the BoD honoured that contract so Danny left with honour and dignity. It would have been worse if he has got the bullet a few months ago when we were on a downward spiral. I think ihis departure could have been handled better but do not believe it to be a stab in the back.
Our BoD are a hands-on board. They know what is going on within the club and the personal qualities of their employees better than anyone on this forum. They have never let us down and have proved to be one of the better boards in Scottish Football. Maybe this is not their finest moment but I think they also deserve some slack.

WTF do you expect a person who has just been promoted to the top job after 4 years as assistant to be, miserable as hell ! FFS I cannot believe some of the pish being posted on here tonight. Just get behind the team and give the guys a chance. Any managerial appointment is a risk but this looks like a safe if somewhat uninspired decision. Some of the abuse on here is scandalous and personal and not warranted.

Danny Lennon got four years at St Mirren his full contract term he was not sacked '4 years' Going by the constant we want Danny out for a couple of seasons now I would say the board did well by Danny Lennon.
Most work places if a suitable candidate is available within then that person deserves his promotion. Our club is giving the chance to three employee's two of which are young. Gus who ? He was an assistant manger and did alright. Something I would very much say of our board even if you don't agree with the appointment they are 100% loyal. Not sacking Danny and promoting within.
Your thread leaves a nasty taste in my mouth and has not been thought through properly though we are entitled to our opinion. No way is our board back stabbers
