  1. The Daily Star are usually pretty spot on with Saints stories. Normally to do with transfers but so who knows. Just need to wait and see it play out. Can understand potential buyers wanting to hedge their bets on waiting to see what division we'll be playing in.
  2. Dam I was hoping the lamppost would be playing centre half for us. Cheesys fault again
  3. Hopefully a better, more commanding version of Darren McGregor . Our centre backs don't contribute enough goals from set pieces. Hopefully this guy can be as effective as someone like Chris Innes scored in crucial 1-0 games.
  4. McDonald is a great signing for Motherwell when you compare him to our marquee signing Alan Gow. No doubt about it Motherwell have went balls out with that signing . A last throw of the dice. We win 3 points tomorrow and they don't win, they'll be shitting it. Our record against Accies is honking but this is as good a time as any to play them. 2-1 Saints, Genev to open the scoring with a thumping header from a corner and Thommo to score the winner.
  5. The PDE have been a disgrace over the years. They ran a competition nearly every pre-season where you could win a Old Firm season ticket. Don't buy the DR or the Sun anyway , both are horrendous. Hopefully the fans get behind JT and the rest of the team, they badly need the support. Everyone should have known by now not to trust these rags. I wonder if Saints will ban them from the ground?
  6. He didn't even do the interview with the DR. Shows how desperate they are for things to report on. Shite newspaper steals parts from an interview on a average player playing for a shite team and he "slags" the shite town said team plays in. No doubt he'll get some amount of abuse for this even though it should be the Renfrewshire council that should be taking the pelters for the way Paisley has deteriorated.
  7. Is Alan Gow really the kind of player you want in the midst of a relegation battle? Wylde has been taking pelters for not getting stuck in. This guy is going to get new levels of abuse if its the same old Alan Gow we have signed. Hope he proves me wrong but my expectations aren't exactly high with this one.
  8. I agree. Sky shouldn't show Chelsea games given their fans are cut from the same scumbag cloth as their "blue brothers".
  9. If it happens it happens. Will hurt a bit more this time round because it will have been self inflicted and preventable. Disappointing that the fans seem to have chucked it too but understandable. It does seem to take a relegation battle to get us going though.
  10. Can't agree. If fans think our recent financial cuts have been bad, multiply them by 100 if we were to get relegated. Would probably be forced to sell Naismith,Kelly maybe even Mallan. Cut off a lot of the community coaching staff, the youth academy costs a fortune to run. I know the first team isn't great but signings like Thompson, McGowan ect don't happen in the first division with a budget like ours. I think we could rot away for another 10-15 years again. That's why a lot of fans are worried the way it's going on the field and off it. Youngsters these days have bit easy watching Saints as an Prem team, winning a trophy. I don't think we would be far away from doing a repeat of the 90's and early 00's . It has maybe helped Falkirk develop youngsters and get ridiculous fees for them but how long have they been out of the top league for now? Maybe been unlucky that Hearts and Hibs have came down this season right enough.
  11. Aye UNICEF were the first ever sponsor on Barcas shirt but Barca paid them for the privilege, I'm sure.
  12. If I had to choose between her and Alexander, I'd still vote for her.
  13. If he has been the most consistent player on the pitch over the course of the season then yes. Didn't seen anyone else take responsibility when he was suspended. Might say more about how bad our team has been than how good Jim has been but I think you have to give him credit. Don't think he has been booked in 9-10 games now either. ( he will now get sent off v ICT guaranteed )
  14. We are hardly even trying . We aren't pressing the ball ect.
  15. Overall Goodwin has been the most consistent. Been a rock all season with a couple of iffy moments thrown in. Kenny was brilliant from December. Even though it was scintillating stuff from him i admit.
  16. Big Thommo said to one of my pals at the last home game it will be him and Arquin up front. Didn't think at the time, just assumed Kenny would be moved back into midfield. Think everyone within the club must have knew Kenny was leaving . As for Ball, he hasn't shown enough imo. Its tough for young players to come into this team especially up front with the service being poor but when he has had chances he hasn't had the composure. He can't win headers and can't hold the ball up, he doesn't have threatening movement either ( like Arquin ). Maybe worth the risk going by his pre-season form but it hasn't paid off.
  17. Gives the club a chance to try something out the box. A curry night or the pre match bar maybe.
  18. As long as we don't let the ICT midfield rough us up I think we have a chance. If they do come with a game plan to kick us off the park, I want to see Mallan, McGinn ect roll about and get as many booked/sent off as possible. The last league game was a disgrace.
  19. He has probably doubled his wages and should be playing in a European competition next season, not all bad. I hope he kicks on from here and gets an even bigger move ( maybe make us a bit more £££ ). I hope he is rotten against us though.
  20. Shambles. Gutted and wish him well but we need to move on sharpish. Hopefully we can see the money put back into the team and a couple of new faces come in.Either tonight or free agents.
  21. Nah there must be more to it than this. If Fleetwood offered 150k and that offer was basically laughed at, why would the board say it was nowhere near their valuation of the player when it wouldn't matter what their valuation of him is if he has a release clause of 275k? Things aren't adding up here. Could it be the release clause is a bit higher? Or there is no release clause and we were hoping to spark a bidding war? This story started a few hours ago and nothing has been confirmed yet, were we trying to bait Rotherham into making him a better offer than Aberdeen? Who knows, now that I've said that it will probably be confirmed in 5 minutes.
  22. I've said before opposition teams must love coming to our gaff. Cracking pitch to play on, great facilities and a home crowd that can turn on their young players. It's not hard to see why we have had better results away from home this season.
