  1. Why would our Mr Lennon try like a bear? I can understand why any football manager would make a professional approach to the club representatives and then the player. I can understand why the manager would then verbally "sell the club" in a passionate manner in order to persuade the young target to agree to the loan deal. I can even understand why a manager would go as far as to make provisional arrangements for the players housing whilst he is on loan in an effort to persuade the young lad. All of that I totally understand. I cannot understand however why the manager would roar loudly, start catching salmon with his hands and defecate in the woods.
  2. Eh? May I remind you young man/woman that Mr Daniel Lennon previously swooped to sign a former Rangers striker. Care to tell everyone how that worked out? Wee Vauxhall was a player that I loved to hate but if he were to join us at the 8000 seat stadia of dream's then I for one would say "ach well, widnae hae'd been my choice but welcome and do well ya' wee bugger". He did get involved with an Inverclyde residing single mother last time he visited Scotland so a return to our shores may not be as far fetched as some would believe. If I were to meet wee Vauxhall in a public house I would also say "I was in Benidorm a few years back and I met a guy called Mick from Newcastle. He owns a pub and has been there for years. Do you know him?".
  3. I fail to see why a team like Newcastle United football club would prefer to loan a player out to a championship side (presumably an English championship side and NOT a Scottish championship side) ahead of a Scottish top league outfit such as the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co. I cite the following reason's 1) Newcastle United have previously utilised the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co as a team where young Newcastle (pronounced NooooCassselll) player's can be exposed to top flight football and thus gain invaluable experience and confidence, thus improving the prospects of the player within the game of football, thus improving the value to the Newcastle team. 2) Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd company also play in black and white stripes so that at least requires no adjustment for the young loanee. 3) The Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co are the best team in the world and it would be criminal to deny any youngster the coveted chance to play on the hallowed turf of Paisley.
  4. In my day they were known as goalkeep's. We also had left halves, inside forward's and a centre forward was a striker. We also had big wooden rattle's, tackity boots and woodbines. I miss my prime, I really do.
  5. I do wish forum user's would put more effort into posting. Whilst it is an entirely fair point you make you have stopped short of properly examining each player and who they were signed by. Wouldn't have taken you long. I shall start Craig Samson - Goalkeep - signed by our Mr Lennon Paul Dummet - Left back - Loan signing brought in by our Mr Lennon James Goodwin - Centre half - signed by our Mr Lennon Marc McAusland - Centre half - re-signed by our Mr Lennon David Van Zanten - Right back - re-signed by Mr McPherson I shall let you continue in the manner that you should have started
  6. Not miles ahead Shull. By my calculation we have scored 19 and conceded 12 thus putting the meaningless pre-season goal average at a positive of 7 goals. It is so entirely meaningless I really do not know why I am wasting my borrowed time even posting about it but I just cannot help myself when it comes to discussing all things St Mirren. Anyway I hope it stays dry today as I have plans!
  7. Well done St Johnstone. well done indeed. If the small Saints can do it then why can the big Saints and league cup winners not? A fair question indeed.

  8. Please drive it sensibly. Over the years I have lost a number of friends/associates/colleagues and random's to motorcycle accidents and I arrived at the conclusion some years ago that it is indeed a stupid way to travel, a stupid way to travel indeed. I also remember horses as an acceptable form of transport and not just a rich fandan's form of transport. Horse riding is less dangerous than motorcycling though even though I did have a friend who was reprimanded for having his horse "rampage furiously in New Street Paisley". Stay safe my forum friend and please do not propel yourself through my horseless carriage window. Stay safe indeed my reckless forum friend, stay safe indeed.
  9. Nice to know that you young fellows are getting on, nice to know indeed. I bet none of you could have caught my heels 60 years ago but that is not your fault as you are all fat and unhealthy now where I was constantly hungry yet muscle bound, muscle bound indeed. Youngsters are also much uglier today. It is as if evolution has went in reverse as with the advent of make-up women can improve there look where as in my day munter's simply did not get humped (except in Ayrshire). Going back a bit we would all assert that any Spartan woman would do for the weekend and then we encounter modern day toothless gingers. My point exactly. Glad you are all enjoying your sporting endeavour boys. In my day naughty showers were quite illegal, quite illegal indeed but in any case please do not allow such buggery to affect our beloved forum.
  10. Yes I think I do my Partick Thistle supporting forum friend. I think I do indeed. From reading your eloquent post it would appear to me that you have been afforded some information to the effect that a new American grill style eaterie has opened up and is trading near to Gilmour street train station in the town of Paisley. You also assert that you do "not know where it is or what it is called". I cannot help you in any way with the name of this fabled establishment but from the earlier part of your post I can confirm that the eaterie is likely to be in the vicinity of Gilmour street train station. If someone could provide the name of the establishment, a more accurate address and perhaps a well written review of the victuals on offer then we, the forum using community would be better informed as to whether we wish to visit this establishment.
  11. I would hope that we will have at least two trialists running out on Wednesday.....

  12. Ah my good, good, good, good, good, no bad friend Bulto. It feels like such a long time since we communicated directly. I miss our little grammar schoolings and I often (very often) leave a miscreant apostrophe for you to notice. Like Bulto bait if you will! I am compelled to voice my disappointment however that such an accomplished wordsmith and finger wagger would waste his natural talent for all things grammatical by resorting to the overly used term "knickerwetter" that has come to plague the conversationally afflicted amongst our forum using number. In future I would hope, neigh expect that you will use your gift of grammatically correct written word to furnish us all with more content and therefor further enrich this fine little forum of ours. Fine little forum indeed.
  13. I do hope this proves to be true. I have some questions 1) What position is the first one? 2) What position is the second one? 3) What position is the third one? 4) Is the first one any good? 5) Is the second one any good? 6) Is the third one any good? 7) What age is the first one? 8) What age is the second one? 9) What age is the third one? 10) Is the first one Paul Dummett? 11) Is the second one Paul Dummett? 12) Is the third one Paul Dummett? 13) Is the first one Connor Newton? 14) Is the second one Connor Newton? 15) is the third one Connor Newton? 16) What is the name of the first one? 17) What is the name of the second one? 18) What is the name of the third one? I look forward to learning the answers to these simple yet important questions.
  14. The line that I have taken the time to highlight via the wonders of computing technology sums up my feelings perfectly. Prior to the game today I ventured into the hospitality suite for a pre-match pint of ale. During this pint of ale drinking session I entered into conversation with another season ticket holder about the state of the current squad. I found myself making the following statement "You know fellow fan, normally at this fixture we (supporters of the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co) are excited to see our new players in action, to get a first look at them, to memorise the faces and assess the skill of the new players. It is after all the most exciting part of pre-season. This year we have one outfield player and a goalkeep. Are you aware of any reason why?". Something is wrong. Even if Daniel Lennon brings in 5 more players they will still have missed much of pre-season and as such the team cohesion will not be as it should. Something is indeed wrong! I have enjoyed hi-lighting so I decided to do it some more.
  15. What about signing the Morton number 1? He looked way better than ours did, way better indeed!
  16. He appears to have all the attributes that you mention and he was far from the greatest concern today. In fairness to the young lad he was up against a certain Douglas Imrie who clearly had a point to prove. He didn't have a very good game but does look like a young man who could grow into the team sooner rather than later. The goalkeeper had a howler as did a few others (including our manager, his tactics did not work and he was powerless to change anything for the better) but the youngster Kelly was not on the "howler" list. It may yet be a little early for him but he is not far away.
  17. I mostly agree with you but I find your assessment of Harkins to be quite incorrect, quite incorrect indeed. Mr Harkins showed some real flashes of skill and for me was the main positive from today's performance. Gary Teale was very good and young John McGinn did fairly well. I don't think Paul McGowan was anything better than average today although young Jordan Naismith equipped himself rather well. I really fear for our fortunes however if we do not change our defence in someway and I have real concerns over that young goalkeep that our Mr Lennon has brought in. In all I am somewhat deflated by our performance and I fear for our fortunes if improvement is not found. Undoubtedly the less conversationally able amongst us will accuse anyone of attempting to address our rather obvious shortcoming's of being a "knickerwetter" but anyone with the smallest amount of interest in the fortunes of our club will be alarmed (and rightly so) at the desperately poor performance that I just witnessed from our team, desperately poor indeed. Just to add, I did think of our fellow forum user "Shull" during the game when I commented to the fellow fan to my right hand side when I said "not more of this tippy tappy pish that results in nothing". Anyway I would have preferred to have missed that game today such was the height of our poor performance.
  18. Newspapers used to provide some wonderful coverage, wonderful coverage indeed. Not in a journalistic sense of course but in the fish supper sense. Yesterdays (the previous days newspaper not the 18/7/13) newspaper would be used to wrap ones fish supper and afterward your hands would be greasy and covered in black ink. If you were lucky sometimes you would get a page 3 model exposing her pert breats around your fish supper! Does anyone know of a fish supper shop that still wraps its fishy, chippy wares in such a manner?
  19. Do you hang about street corners FS? If so then I may well be frightened of you as being an old timer I am naturally afraid of the tracksuited corner hanger abouter. I do not mean to be but it is like an instinctive reaction that one attains along with a bus pass. Purchasing the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co team playing kit would have been a far better purchase as you will now frighten us pensioners. If I do happen upon you at a footballing match then may I request that you do not steal my wallet/season ticket/watch or false teeth.

  21. I have the distinct feeling that this poster whom is known to us in the world of this very forum as "Lovestreet" is perhaps not the type of person I would readily furnish with my credit card details. In my day they were know as "fly by nights".
  22. I quite like the concept of pay as you go children. When you wish one to wash your car for example or perhaps when small hands are needed to repair dangerous machinery then such a scheme would be smashing. A jam boy for the gowf would be especially desirable with the current midge and cleg problem. Although a user guide would have to clearly state that you cannot abuse them in the Gary Glitter or anything Jimmy Saville like or Kevin Webster like. 25. It is creepy is it not? I have given this matter some thought and the following has become apparent to me His first name is Andrew and over the years I have known several guys called Andrew who follow St Mirren! His second name is Murray, I knew a fellow with the same second name and he supported St Mirren (he is dead now)! Andrew Murray is a male and I know lots of males who support St Mirren! Andrew Murray is Scottish and the majority of our fans are also Scottish! Andrew Murray is a tennis player and as a younger man I played tennis once and I support St Mirren! Andrew Murray won Wimbledon. Wimbledon is also the home of Wimbledon AFC who play football. St Mirren play football as well!
