What LPM fails to understand is the technique we used to win that match worked a treat. We were up against a stronger team, players rested or not. Goody set us up in a way they didn’t really threaten despite their possession & we created by far the better & more numerous chances.
His outlook refuses to allow him to be positive, very sad.

I seem to remember a certain team winning the English Prem with 38% possession.... goals dominate....end of

BTB letting his chronic hatred of Gus cloud his judgment. Not for the first, or the last time.

We’ve already built a strong squad and there’s still 3 weeks of the window left with at least one more coming in.

Great job from those behind the scenes [emoji1433]

So that's just incorrect. 'We have a plan but not the manpower to define and execute it" so the set in stone specifics of his role were not 'defined' when that story broke.
Things certainly did stall but a stall doesn't mean it'll fail does it? The bottom line that the boo boys ultimately need to accept is this window is looking like it has been a success even with the turmoil of a managerial change, exactly what GLS has been quoted as wanting (in some sense, again remember not defined). If it does pan out that way it'll be two for two transfer windows while Gus has been at that role, coincidence? You can hold onto your negative assumptions or you can embrace that we have a structure that now seemingly defined, is showing positive signs of success.
Let's not forget some key points here.
    - St Mirren Vs Aberdeen is very different from St Mirren vs EK or Albion Rovers. Three or four divisions of difference actually, the players at our club at that time should categorically be beaten those teams, the failure to do so is with them & I'm sure they'd be the first to put their hands up. It was NOT a recruitment failure.
    - Aberdeen did not show arrogance yesterday, it's well accepted that teams need to rotate squads when they have stacked fixtures.
    - You have zero evidence we could have signed these players/ equal or better players sooner. I'm not saying we categorically couldn't have but you're making a negative assumption. The GLS interview yesterday, the timing of the left back signing (after the English window closed) the commentary on some players being scouted (by Gus according to Goody interviews by the way) last season & how long we were linked to some of these names all suggest they were not willing/ available earlier in the window. As GLS says, better players have better options, why would they all rush?
    - OK stated at his Q&A the job of Gus is not just identifying players himself but putting together detailed reports on players identified by him or others, imagine that must be the same for Goody.
In summary, you can't provide any actual evidence to the determent of Gus job or our recruitment structure, all we have to go on is outputs. I would say the output signs so far are very promising like they were proven to be in the January window.

He’s tried to ‘bluff’ that we appear to have a very strong squad, most of which on two or three year contracts?
Whats your basis specifically for the DoF role not working this summer? Gus job is not only the identifying or players personally but the review of players the management team identify to determine if fit for purpose. Seems like it’s worked a blinder for the second window in a row to me

We missed a free header from five yards out, had three occasions in the second half where it was practically three on two, the overhead kick he probably had time to compose himself and turn. No mention of 'on another day we could have been out of sight' though?
Don't let a balanced view get in the way of your need to be negative about almost all things SMFC.
Good to see your point on the better quality players though, well done to Gus and the other recruitment involved staff for their hard work. Praise needing to go to GLS as well for his long-term vision getting these players in on longer deals.

That makes no sense. In three years you’re expecting players to not only join the academy but have progressed through the academy & feature in the first team squad?
We have several young players that have started playing/ on the cusp of breaking through in the last three/ four seasons. Not least of all Cammy, Kyle & Ethan. Of course they were there before DL left, that’s how youth progression works.
We wont know the success of AM recruitment of young players for a good few seasons yet. All we can ask is a continuation of 1 or 2 youth graduates a season making the grade.

The lad not managing to pick up a new club at any professional level is telling enough on his ability. Getting a Scotland Under 19 cap is completely irrelevant. If you don't think so go back and look at Scotland under 19 squads over the last 10-15 years and see how many players actually made it as professionals/ our level.
Muir was a former Rangers youth player, one of two teams who's youngsters generally get favoured, The cap potentially could just have been a hangover from that before we realised he wasn't going to make the grade.
Still I'm not sure what any of this has to do with Hladky.

Very impressed with him, very impressed with the other new signings, very impressed with last seasons players. Things look like they’re coming together. Evidence is growing that we have had a very successful summer of recruitment.
Well done to GLS, Gus, Goody, Lee & all else involved, keep up the good work.

There were considerable differences between the games, we could have been 3-0 up by half time with two very good and open chances. Dundee missed a penalty & our goal came from a keeper falling on his arse. If you genuinely don't see any noted difference between the two games & the level of Aberdeen vs last seasons Dundee it sums up your go to negative stance.
No one will expect us to 'beat everyone from Aberdeen down' he isn't suggesting that in the slightest.

Don’t think it’s been mentioned but Goody’s decision to give Magennis the armband rather than Paul McGinn is a master stroke. McGinns a leader regardless but giving Magennis the captaincy means he knows himself that his standards can’t slip and he needs to maintain the level that we know he’s capable of. Right wing, left wing and central mid yesterday. Outstanding performance from him yesterday. Expecting a big season from him now.

I have made no attempt to 'categorically' say what has happened, this is the point, you have. You're making a negative assertion that more and more looks like it'll be wrong.
It would be hypocritical if I argued we know this is going to be a successful season right now in the way you're arguing it's been a failure. Difference is after the last two games, the evidence is getting stronger that you're wrong but we'll see. Let's also remember you've just concluded you can't know your negative assumption, typical of a small number of our fans that go out their way to be a boo boy.
As for the League cup campaign, can you detail the players in the starting 11s that were not League 2 or above quality please? Upsets happen in football, we accept that but as a team we should have been more than comfortable we had enough to beat those squads. Again Aberdeen Vs St Mirren is very different to this situation given the difference in football levels. As is it different our most senior youth team vs part-time players from the lower league. Do you genuinely not think there's any difference in these levels?

Very good interview from GLS before the match today. Players were available earlier in the window that we could have signed & they may have done a job this season but better players have better options & sometimes that takes time.
They're looking (and achieving i’d Say) to sign more players for longer term gain than just one year contracts & short-term loans & that can be more time consuming at our level. That’s why it’s taken a good bit longer, to provide more assurance.
Bottom-line is people have prejudged this window & made absolutely ridiculous claims that recruitment is the reason we couldn’t beat L2 & Lowland league opponents in the league cup. It’s looking more & more likely that yet again GLS is playing an absolute blinder & Gus is earning his wage packet.
