You are, of course, welcome to try and visit any kind of physical harm on me that you feel the need to.  I'll have my popcorn ready should you ever have the balls to make a threat in the real world
I see you cling miserably to your last word fixation still.  Don't ever change!

There is no chance that either would be able to receive a fair trial, I hope that it could happen, but try finding a jury that would not already have an opinion on this case

My point has always been that both defenders received a fair trial with a judge declaring the evidence against them as compelling.  I just don't see the problem other people have with that.  The motives for determinedly arguing that this case was not properly examined are preposterous with people suggesting the "what ifs" as evidence that the judgement can't be relied on.  Does no-one believe that a very expensive legal team didn't consider these points and a whole lot more?  or the reason that the defence team didn't raise these is because they simply wouldn't cut it?
Something that is obvious to me through this is that people are putting themselves in the place of the defenders' legal team  when they suggest alternate realities that "could" have occurred while not accepting the evidence that was offered which showed the things that almost certainly happened.  Trying to find doubt in this case, which was found to be compelling is really just defending them and laying the groundwork for a continuation of women being at risk because of attitudes.
And I don't accept for one minute that Goodwillie has had a life of misery, he could have followed Robertson's lead and just slipped back into the landscape, having to drive a van instead of playing football is not a life of misery.  And don't forget the good sums of money he continued to make playing football up until last year and the salary he continues to draw from Raith.  He took the decision to carry on and even got an easy ride for years at Clyde   I said at the time, I knew John Taylor who was on the board there and with his integrity and advice network I actually trusted that they had completely risk-assessed Goodwillie.  The campaign by Val McDiarmid & co made me think again.  And finally, the only thing i discussed on this thread was in the context of the trial, the problem I have is with other people's refusal to accept the ruling when it seems pretty clear it was balanced and sound.

I thought the energy and urgency of the front players improved with the addition of the subs, especially jamieson and Grieve.  The goal was taken well considering that Olusanya was like a coo wi' a gun up to that point
Positioning and movement were our problems, the midfield didn't cover themselves in glory and just passed into space for the first hour and that wasn't helped by the fact that none of the forwards were working hard enough to shake their markers or link up with each other.
Grieve did well, but it's a worry that it took him to make our front line look organised or capable.
There is no excuse for us not winning the physical battle early on, they competed man-to-man with us right up until around 50 minutes.  After that it was the subs and fitness that saved us

    What are you getting at
if a criminal court clears him then I would fully accept that
I now defer to the great legal minds of black and white army who reached a different verdict to the judge by not reviewing the evidence or the written judgement

I don't get to many games so I'll be delighted to go to this one tonight, hoping for a win and maybe a big win at that.  We need the goal difference unless Montrose lose a game or a penalty shoot-out

But your ultimate recourse would have been via a court that you would say is not a court of law, open & shut case or not.  Anyway the idea of an open and shut case is made on previous case law where judges that you don't recognise have ruled   now you are implying that the civil judgement is not a safe one because it was not made in your idea of a court of law, so hand back the money, eh? You are clearly not entitled to it.

Unless some fecker hangs you in the meanwhile.
It's a strange point you seem to be making, Goodwillie & Robertson served no time in jail and their opportunity to show how they have changed must involve contrition & remorse.  They don't seem to have embraced either so the comparison doesn't work.  And as for "forever branded", that is no worse than what they would experience after a criminal conviction.  We are all the products of what we have done and if part of a person's make up is the fact that they committed a serious crime then that is what they are.
What I would say is that the status of private prosections is not clear and the option seems to be there as a second attempt when the burden of proof threshold for a criminal case is not met.  Private prosecutions should be discontinued or be given a special legal status whereby the crown has to look at the proceedings and decide if they need to review the original decision not to prosecute.

On the term "Mickey" or "Mick"
"Technically speaking it’s not a racial slur. For something to be a racial slur, it would be a pejorative used to degrade a racial group. Irish people are an ethnic group. The race is White/European/Caucasian. So with that out of the way let’s look at why it is indeed an ethnicity-based slur to insult and degrade people of Irish descent. The cultural and historic ties between the Scots and the Irish are deep rooted; everything from the language, people, customs, food are connected. The word Scot (and therefore Scotland) originate from a prominent tribe of Gaels who lived in the Irish provinces of Ulster and Connaught, the Scothii. The Scothii migrated to modern Scotland, then called Pictland, where they then interbred with those who already inhabited it, the Picts, descendents of Norse and Anglo settlers in the area. They formed their own kingdom for a while called Dalriada, which included large parts of their ancestral homeland on the island of Ireland. They eventually spread throughout Pictland, and both Dalriada and Pictland united to form the Kingdom of Scotland. Therefore, Scots are essentially displaced Irishmen"
So with all that in mind, unless it can be proven that those who delivered the insults were of a different race or ethnicity to McGeady or most of our good selves, then this was a personal insult issued to and from people of the same or similar racial and ethnic background.  That doesn't make it OK, it just means that it is unpleasant, personal, intended to be hurtful and in this context not racist.   I am still on good terms and happy to meet, however rarely it happens these days,  with a guy who used to refer to me and some of our group of mutual friends as "mickey rebel bastards".  It was funny and I'd still laugh today despite being mostly of Irish descent.
St Mirren fans should be careful not to jump wholeheartedly on anything the record prints, in this case they described McGeady and his Celtic team-mates as "old-firm" as they tried to stoke the fires of faux-outrage and spread the debate.  One person shouts one word and the record has a headline about "racist" st mirren fans and 15 years later we are still wielding their rod on our own backs.  What a laugh!  We are starting to resemble the German guy in Harry Enfield who perpetually apologised for the war.
And Needham's comments about wishing the drowning of scores of Rangers fans are every bit as bad as that one guy's insult a decade and a half ago, even if he didn't mean it.  It was abusive without being racist and we don't all need to cream our jeans (genes?) about it just to prove how un-racist we are.
As I said, it undermines any anti-racist stance to declare things that are really not racist to be racist abuse.

I like the fact that he is hopeful, let's hope it is based at least partially on facts.  A good LC run or at least a good draw in the next round, with maybe a fee of some sorts for Carson, will help us find the right striker in good time.

The legacy facilities are a massive boon
look at the ahoy and the emirates
and adding stands to an existing venue with the intention of later using them elsewhere is sound
ine of the big football tourneys did that as well as London 2012

The Scottish Government seems interested after the aussies pulled out,  it could be a multi-city effort with Glasgow as the hub with the facilities already in place for swimming, indoor velo andplaces like the Emorates and the Hydro.
I don't know about the main stadium though, Hampden might laready be geting a makeover for the world cup joint bid and they have been listed for the Europa League and other finals in 26-27
I feel sorry for Australia. they often compare themselves to the Spice Girls at time like these, everybody tries their best but Victoria always let the rest down
