Statement on SkyView website... I think they're getting into it...
SkyView Capital note with pleasure the five goals that delivered a successful achieveable outcome for our partners in soccer, St Mirren FC. Using growth-organic growth deliverable cross balls into the box, quality results were achieved in a focus-based strategic manner, resulting in a highly desireable group structured gubbing for the Rovers from Raith. However, with the negative relegation outcome as yet unresolved, the board of SkyView Capital would ask that this week, all members of the management team must attend group meetings while wearing a Saint Mirren bonnet with fcuk the Morton on it.

In old Easter Road one game it was pouring down, at half time Hibs transferred Saints fans into the main stand. Have been in plenty grounds with no cover but never experienced that kind of hospitality anywhere else. From that day I liked Hibs. Congratulations on winning the league.

In the position we were in half way through the season? I think that it completely justified bonus for players coming in.

Can we afford not to offer most of the above named players contracts which might persuade them to stay at St Mirren for next season at least?
Yes if they maintain current performance levels they are certs to go on to better things elsewhere - i.e. earn more money than they ever could in Paisley.
However, Gordon Scott and the other directors must be aware that we now have the makings of a squad which would be favourites to win the Championship outright next season.
England is full of young Scottish players whose careers have faltered because they did not move at the right time in their development.
A successful St Mirren team should be filling the present stadium every week - we are now about to breech the 5,000+ figure based on current performances and if we were striving for promotion next season instead of trying to avoid relegation we should be generating enough income to fund attractive wages for the management (including Alan McManus) and the players.
I was criticised by some a few months ago for mentioning Sir Alec and Jack Ross in the same sentence (although I was not at that time making a direct comparison). However, as mentioned by others, there is now a level of optimism surrounding the club which has not been seen since the Ferguson era.
This time let's not miss this golden opportunity to take things forward to a new level!

helping the club when in need is important for me for reasons well pointed out by above posts. Sponsoring the St Mirren Warriors would be special here a club with special needs getting out there involved in sport . However also feel we should be looking long term by building an egg nest when the fans eventualy take over there has to be funds available for short falls and maintenance.
Never will I get to the stage of packing in the buyout even if I don't agree where some of the funds are going. Being a St Mirren supporter helping to buy the club for the fans should be above everything else. Not happy where funds are going fine use your membership to voice your opinion but  please see the bigger picture the club belonging to the fans will be a remarkable achievement done by Saints fans for Saints fans.

To be fair a lot of kids DO get in for free every week. The club have been giving out free kids season tickets for the family stand for years now.
I only pay £15 per season for my son to sit in the West with me and have done now for years. Next year he'll be 13 so I'll have to buy him a ST but there's no doubt he has the Saints bug good and proper now and it's all been down to the virtually free season ticket he's had up until now.

"if I want to sponsor a local youth team, a charity runner or a cat's home I'd take that decision myself and use other money for that purpose.
    let's concentrate on St Mirren."
It's easy to look down the wrong end of the telescope and think of the funds created by SMISA being purely for the club, but I think sponsoring local youth teams is a great idea. The lads playing will get to know that they get to play their football while having a link with the local senior team and, as was suggested, the odd visit to training from one or two players or coaching staff should help generate interest in SMFC, leading to attendance at games, maybe even identification of talent for development through age-groups and into the U-20s at the club.

We have just received the not inconsiderable accolade of being named by Brendan Rodgers as the best team his high-flying Celtic have played domestically this season. Quite an astonishing statement in all circumstances.
As such, and despite the fact that we have much work to do to salvage a dire season, I believe that Jack Ross has shown enough to suggest that he has what is required to ultimately propel our club in the right direction.
It is time to get full square behind our young management team and accept that we require stability, with a  committed and ambitious management team at the helm. I think we have that, and if we back them, we will be heading back to where we belong sooner rather than later!

I was getting a bit unsure of wether JR was going to turn it round but no doubts now. Starting to do a brilliant job, I think we'll stay up without play offs now given the attitude and performance of the whole squad over the last 2 league games. We were immense on Sat and tonight was another step up

St Mirren shouldn't be in this place. We spent ten years as a top flight club. We reached two national cup finals, winning one. We sold our ground and cleared our debt. We were told a shiny new stadium and dedicated training facilities, allied to clearing the debt would see us able to attract better players. We were chosen as the home of the Scotland U2s. Celtic chose our stadium to hire. We had players like Teale and Thompson. We never entered administration like so many. We weren't a fcuking basket case like Dunfermline. We have a strong core support.
No fcuking way should we be in this position, no way.

I seriously think the more sensible forum users should carry out an intervention on some of the people on here.
Last week, JR was the messiah for realising the team wasn't good enough and making wholesale changes, which nearly everyone agreed had improved the quality.
Now, after one away draw where admittedly we didn't play great, he's a naughty boy again.
I can only hope some people aren't as fickle in real life as they are on here, cos they'd be a nightmare to live with.

A bit of pressure isn't always a bad thing. We can't reasonably expect an immediate turnaround in our fortunes, but Ross has signaled his intent to keep us in this division with his far-reaching business this window, so will be judged on that. I think that's fair enough, but don't think there is anything to be achieved by adopting the position that his job is on the line. There is a distinction to be made between pressure and stress.
Now is the time to acknowledge what the club is trying to do, and to get behind the management team, their new players, and, indeed, the board. Worst case scenario? I suggest we leave the inquest until after the baw is entirely deflated.

No excuses? Because 8 new players that have never played together before don't get any time at all to come together as a team?
I think that's a bit too much pressure on them.  I have faith we'll stay up but if we don't then I would still be retaining Ross.
