Woke up this morning, got the feeling that the boys are heading into training with a real can-do attitude, 100% behind the boss, Daniel Lennon, and will be working their nuts off on surefire tactics to beat Aberdeen. After some light training and rest over the weekend, we will turn out on Monday, in front of many millions worldwide on TV, and a capacity crowd at Greenhill, and dispose of the Dandy Dons 3, maybe 4 nil. We will then proceed to teach Hearts who is boss, with an impressive 2-0 win at Tynecastle, then go on a run the likes of which has never been seen. We will be in 4th place come Christmas, with Dan the Man winning 3 manager of the months, and Lee Mair and the keeper (one of them) winning player of the month alternately. Following an unlucky last minute penalty defeat in the final of the Scottish Cup to Kilmarnock, with Craig Samson netting the winner in a 10-9 shootout classic, we will go on to finish in 2nd place in the league. Greenhill Road will be rechristened the Paisley Emirates thanks to the £10m a season sponsorship deal and we will be touted for the title in 2014/15.
So no more negativity, the season starts today.

Just trying to re-dress the balance of 99% of my other posts which are all way too negative for such an up beat fans forum as this. Still waiting for King Kenny's response to his outrageous claim.
BTW I'm in Mearns, so it's opium not crack

The worry for me, having seen us 4 times this season is that I don't really know if we are working hard. I maybe misjudging what I see on the pitch but they're not all busting a gut, as they should be. And as for training, well I certainly have no idea but based on reading between the lines, the effort levels may have dropped there too. I certainly hope our luck turns around - although in my 30 odd years of following the team we have never been the luckiest.

Excellent post! Our "identity" is certainly not a tight, well drilled, attacking force. Lennon appears to think we're Barca or Dortmund because he "sees it in training".

It's got to be McKnight's at Ayr. For lots of reasons. It was a VERY late goal, from memory were we not about 5 or 6 minutes over time? Also, after such a long glorious season, it meant promotion after such a terrible period of underachieving in our history. Also, the size of the Saints support that day. 3000 Buds at an away match in the 1st Division? AND it was a typical, old-fashioned goalmouth scramble followed by a hoof into the top corner. Cue mayhem on the terraces and a mini pitch invasion! f**k...I wish I could re-live it!!!

3k is 3k but if anything the club should be paying us back. It just stinks mate...we are in a bad way and really need to move on. The time to reflect on the cup win is in a few years time not later in the same year, in the midst of our worst league start for years and shortly after going out of the cup to lower league opponents

Wouldnt say it was mealy mouthed or hypocritical. Pretty concise and honest to me. Kendo seems to be balanced in his view - Danny Lennon is looking ill, as if he could afford to lose weight, he must be weighing in at about 6 stone. Also he is too decent a character to take all the abuse that many, including me in this post according to ID's logic, are dishing out. And if he is feeling it, it will feed down to the team - and it is clear they are playing with near zero confidence at the moment. It seems to me to be a vicious circle - of course we can keep waiting for the next win, but given this is looking less than likely currently, the more we lose the more we are likely to lose - it becomes (has become) a habit. I just don't know...the sad truth is that as I trudged home on Saturday, I wasn't even angry anymore, just resigned to failure, and that can't be good.

They don't but in fairness the panel on superscoreboard on Clyde 1 have been talking about potential successors for Dan the manager man and with the inevitable now looming inevitably large such such discussions are inevitable.
My favourite would be Kenny Shiels. Whilst many will disagree with me he did out perform Dan the manger man in the league at every opportunity and the press conferences would again be interesting.
    I vote for Kenny
Craig Levein was spoken about on superscoreboard and apparently he is the name being banded about from a thing called twitter.

St Mirren manager Danny Lennon: "There was a lot of attention on Pat Fenlon's credentials at the beginning of the season.
"But Pat's been strong, he's put one or two results together for them to climb up the table and that's great management.
"I certainly believe that I'm the man to take this club forward or I wouldn't be here.
"If the time comes that they decide to move Danny Lennon on, then what I would ask is, what do they expect from their new manager?"

A :- A win Danny or at least a shot on Goal
Nice man or not, Cup win or not I’ve had enough, Do the decent thing and go now Danny

As I have just posted in the match thread, this isn't about Lennon now.
The only people who can take the action required to turn this situation around are the Directors of the club. Lennon is now an irrelevance in many respects as he clearly cannot do a damn thing to sort out this sorry shambles.
Emergency Board meeting on Monday, and Danny's services to be dispensed with. That won't sort things out, but it would be the necessary start.
A shame, but no place for sentiment now.
    Get it sorted Gilmour!

Tromso. Brings back happy memories. 1-0 at Love Street, from memory a header by the comb-overed Kenny McDowall at the home end. Back when we were the holders of not 1, but 2 cups.
Unfortunately my European memories end there being (quite a bit) under 40.
Anyone got any good tales (made up or true, what the hell) from those glory days?

I meant to post this last week but it slipped my mind (in my defence I am old).
Having been the assistant to Craig Levien in the Scotland set-up during the current WC qualifying stage I think it would be fair to expect Peter Houston to have some interest in how his country's national team are performing in the tournament. Maybe not interested enough to make the trip to Macedonia, but surely he could be expected to watch the match live on tv.
I went along to my local on the Friday night to watch the match and, sure enough, Mr Houston was there too.
While the match was being shown on the 3 tvs in the bar, he was in the lounge enjoying the karaoke night.
Maybe he is in the huff.

Erm, I think you'll find some of us were critical of the manager's summer dealing before the season started - somner9 in contrast started a thread elsewhere labelling Butcher's somner (sic) signings as "cheap cuts" but who looks most likely to have the last laugh?
Going back however us knickerwetters were assured that it was all right as we till the end of August before the transfer window closed. So what did we get - one player Newton who is up to speed and two youngsters signed in the final week who may or may not come good but at present we are the poorest team in the league, only saved from bottom spot by Hearts point deduction and already look doomed to another season of catch-up football.

You spew a load of opinions, and your even your second last sentence starts with ' IMHO ', then in your final sentence you ask to us at least look at the facts. Em...?
Okay, let's look at the facts. Unlike you, i won't post a single opinion:
We have won 1 league game in the last 15 (fifteen). That game we won was a dead rubber match - the last game of last season.
We have failed to win a single home game in all competitions in our last 10 matches. This run will stretch back more than 7 months by the time we next play in Paisley
We have had our worst start (1 point from 5 league matches) to a league campaign season since 1991/92. That was the year we were relegated.
We have had 3 league wins this calendar year, and it's nearly October.
Since your hand picking individual results, i think i will too. Here's some of our worst in 2013: St Mirren 1-4 Ross County - Dundee 2-1 St Mirren - St Mirren 1-2 Dundee - Hearts 3-0 St Mirren - ICT 3-0 St Mirren - Ross County 3-0 St Mirren - Queen of the South 2-1 St Mirren - St Mirren 1-2 Partick Thistle.
I could go on, but i'm sure you get the picture.

WTS seems to be guilty of looking for progress, that's all. Is it good to be in the SP(F)L? Financially, probably. Are we in danger of relegation to Division 2? Obviously not. But is it wrong to have high hopes? And I dont mean win the league, I mean top 6. Are we all just accepting now that ICT/Ross County etc are bigger teams than us? If that is the general consensus on here then I am worried.
