No that should have been red as deliberately took him out.

Was it anymore a red card than the cynical challenge on McMullan in the first half?

On posting this it is the 64th comment,of what is a perfectly debatable subject.
But on General ST MIRREN Discussion board IMO is not the board to be discussing it.

if you were a doctor, teacher or police officer you wouldn't be allowed back into the same occupation after an offence like this, he can start working again, no issues with that but for me not as a footballer.

It's pretty simple, he's a convicted rapist, do I want him associated with my club, never. Do I want the good name and reputation of my club tarnished, no. Some of the posts on this thread really do concern me, may be its because I have a daughter and so think differently when I see stories like this, or may be its because I try and do what's right no matter what, I'd rather we got relegated and had a club with morals than sign him.

After all the euphoria of the victory against Dundee, and where I do appreciate the effort of Teale, we desperately need a new manager from out with the club.
Someone who can give us belief at home and instil discipline in the team to match the fighting spirit we have now found.
But it's results we need and I sincerely hope there is someone who can galvanise our club!

If you dare....Ask him if he can imagine how I felt sitting in the Engerlish end at Wemberlee when he missed THAT penalty...
Then ask him if he felt as bad as I did when Gazza scored that brilliant goal...

He took over ICT at the end of January when they were 2 points behind Falkirk and 8 points behind us.
In the end they were relegated Only because their goal difference was worse than ours.
They bounced straight back to the SPL and finished 7th the next season, 9 points ahead of 8th spot.
Butcher would be a sound appointment if interested.

St Mirren's record under Tommy Craig...
    lost 73% of league games,
won 1 point out of 24 at home,
0 clean sheets in 19 games,
Only team in senior British football without a clean sheet.
failed to score in 75% of home games,
in 50% of league games we register 2 or less shots on target.
Crowds down from 4k to 2k as a result.
We have a manager who blames our problems on our inability to score goals...
    HE signed three forwards.
But be fair, you say, he signed them to play alongside Thompson, who has been out injured... the same Thompson who played as a lone striker 3 times in a week when rushed back from injury too early resulting in him having to go off exhausted after 45 minutes today!
Look again at the stats... the ONLY team in senior British football without a clean sheet... yet our manager publicly blames the strikers he signed.
Our defence is awful and has been for years.
The midfield is too busy trying to cover for the defence to create chances for the forwards.
We could have Ronaldo and Ronaldinho up front and still not score! If you don't give the ball to the forwards effectively they can't do their job.
(I call witness no 1... K Boyd of the Rangers... who scored for fun at a struggling club that knew how to serve him... before going to play for long ball Ally who has hung him out to dry and made him look useless)!
Tommy Craig... you maybe a well respected coach.
You are probably a very lovely guy.
But PLEASE resign from my football team before the damage you have inflicted is irreparable. Go now. Please!

Time up. Should never have been appointed.
And whilst we are at it...
How long is Stewart Gilmour going to bask in the glory and safety of being "the man that saves Saints"?
    Just go Stewart.
Thanks, and all that... but you are now asphyxiating our club with your apathy and inactivity which has now permeated every level!!!
    Go. Please.

Being an exiled Buddie I can only base opinion on results, reports and forum comments.
I am curious but is there any mileage in that our upturn in form has coincided with Sean Kelly's return?
As memory serves when Naismith and Kelly were our full back combination last season we hit a bit of form...

I have to be honest in my opinion that there are a lot who feel it is to early for the "new" management team but, for me, they were part of the previous regime and, to that end, the manager especially has no time. I, like many, was not happy with the appointment and how it came about. This view has not changed and I don't believe things will improve to the extent that we will survive.
We've been on the slippery slope since our cup win with cost cutting at the forefront of this.
The evidence at this early stage speaks volumes:
0-1 v a what has proved to be a poor Motherwell side
0-2 and 0-1 v both promoted sides at home
0 points, 0 goals and I believe they will get harder to come by as season progresses.
I would dearly love to be proved wrong but I feel, even at this early stage, that a change is needed at management level in order to get the best out of a decent squad.
I don't consider myself to be a "knicker wetter" just realistic in my opinion.
But as I said I would love to be proved wrong.......

At this point I will reserve judgement on the season ahead.
What I do find significant, however, is the fact that the manager has acted swiftly on the trialists. In previous seasons we have had players on trial for weeks and ultimately came to nothing leaving us on the back foot and consequently making rash, panic signings.
Having watched the team the other night, albeit against much lower opposition, they looked confident, comfortable in possession and worked well as a team.
Ball, for all he is a big lad and obviously lacking in fitness, worked hard, used the ball well and took his goals with aplomb. For me he was worth a contract which he ultimately got. A good quick decision by the manager and his team. Same applied to Caldwell.
What also impressed me was the contribution of youngsters on show. Not one of them looked out of place and all of them were comfortable on the ball and with their distribution.
This can hopefully set us off on a much better foot than last season. I'm not expecting too much but what I believe we do have is a good balance within the squad with different options if required.
