matthew_irving reacted to div in B&W Army Helps Paisley Panda
Pleased to say that the website has agreed a deal with Paisley Panda to sponsor the sweets that are given out to young buddies around the stadium before the next two home games.
It's a small thing but I think it's good for the kids and I believe the club was planning to stop doing it.
The advertising on the site will pay for this and it's something we hope to continue throughout next season so actually you are all helping to make this happen.
Colin Bright deserves a lot of credit for the amount of effort he puts in towards improving the experience for the younger fans IMO!

*Important notice *
Due to the nature of the absolute pish we have filling the Jerseys of our Beloved St.Mirren F.C. these days , I thought it might be a good idea if we couple next weeks match with a trial match for the big team !! I find it hard to believe we could do any worse than the shower who call themselves professional players at our club .
Also , if any of the current squad want a game with us on a Monday or Wednesday ........ Naw , yer alright ! We only want guys who actually care about St.Mirren.

Could narrow it down by finding out who is injured at Ibrox

matthew_irving reacted to div in Alex Rae: sacked!
There you go, swift decisive action from the board. Can't argue with it. Imperative now that we take our time and get the next appointment spot on.

Undoubtably, but he's our manager and we need to give him some time.

matthew_irving reacted to div in GLS on radio
Spot on Drew.
A cursory look at the players we have brought in suggests that the budget was decent this season considering where are.
The management team have spent that budget and now it's up to them to deliver a winning team on the park.
The only way we will see any more new faces is if someone moves out the way and the only players likely to attract any attention at the moment are going to be Mallan and McAllister and at a push Naismith (anyone else hear Jim Goodwin say we knocked back a bid for him in the summer?!).
Developing and selling players going forward has to be the aim. Clubs like Falkirk and Hamilton are doing it really successfully and whilst we have produced decent players we haven't got the maximum value out of them. Hopefully that will change.
I don't expect nor want Gordon to be using his own money to prop up the club, as that would mean we were living outside our means. We won't have that luxury in ten years time when we hopefully own the club ourselves so I don't really see why we would want it to happen now.
That said, the club needs to speculate to accumulate to some degree. It looks like everything has been stripped down to the bare bones and it might take some investment from somewhere to create new facilities that are going to generate revenue outside of football. I think if Gordon could see a clear opportunity to invest to make money then he might be tempted to loan the club some capital. Maybe.

For a battle hard midfielder he once was. You'd think he'd at least be able to recruit and get the central midfield department correct. For me, that's his worst area so far this season. Borderline disgraceful.

matthew_irving got a reaction from faraway saint in Tom Walsh
Best part of all these signings ( sutton excluded ) is they are all under the radar. I can't remember one person mentioning Walsh's name COYS

matthew_irving reacted to Stuart Dickson in Tom Walsh
Yep good signing. I remember him playing in quite a few matches for Rangers a couple of seasons ago when Stuart McCall turned around Rangers performances to get them to the play offs. I think I'm right in saying he came on as a sub in both play off matches with Motherwell.

Doesn't matter what he achieves from here on in, he has to live with the crippling knowledge that his career peaked on Christmas Eve, 2011.

According to my twitter timeline he's signing for Ayr, Dunfermline, Raith Rovers and Dundee Utd.
He isn't though. He's coming back to the buddies.

This isn't in the rumour mill as my info is that the deal is done.
I've heard nothing to the contrary to say that information was wrong.
As such I'm leaving the topic here and refusing to move it to the rumour mill. And if you don't like that, bite me :-)

matthew_irving reacted to Drew in John Sutton Returns
I would hazard a guess that, on reflection, Div might wish he had posted this in the Rumour Mill.

I've posted it here and not the rumour mill for a reason.
Sutton will be playing for us next season, just take a chill pill and trust your old da.

Quote from OS 'Due to the unprecedented demand for ticket requests from Rangers Football Club'
Quote from Tony 'Rangers haven’t asked for these tickets'
Maybe the BOD and the CEO should at least stick to the same story?

matthew_irving reacted to Ronnie in Rangers To Be Given South Stand
Am I not correct in saying Rangers fans said previously that any future games involving trips to Paisley and Dingwall would be boycotted by them due to Gilmour and Mcgregor going public with their vote to deny Rangers to remain in SPL after their liquidation.

matthew_irving reacted to magnus in Rangers To Be Given South Stand
I agree and as Drew says this is probably the perfect opportunity to show this Board that enough is enough. This embarrassing money grasping behaviour is unacceptable to the fan base.

matthew_irving reacted to WeeBud in The Blue Laughing Stock Fc 2012 V St Mirren 27/2/16
Certainly not accurate enough but it was never a suicide pass, it was a pass to the full back to hit it long up the touchline which would be a good option in that situation

It falls to Renfrewshire's finest to blow the Championship title race back open. Until now Alex Rae has cunningly had us playing one way in real match situations while secretly working hard behind the scenes in training on an attack, attack, attack total football masterplan. I predict that going into the game Rangers will think if they don't give away any free kicks around the box they will thwart our hopes of a goal via Stevie Mallan and they have been lulled into a false sense of security by a series of games where we have set up to be difficult to beat and closing our narrow 1-0 wins.
Tomorrow will see us move up to the next level.
Rangers 9, St Mirren 11 and a shellshocked Warburton to appeal to David King to install a narrow artificial pitch so the home fans never have to watch a diddy team stick 11 past them at home.
