Couldn't honestly say how many knew, the negotiating group had approval from the members to conclude a deal on their behalf is the only answer you will get on that i'd think. So anyone putting their hand up to state they were aware of the facility from the outset are probably stating they knew after it was agreed most likely not before. The "rainy day" facility was mentioned at the SGM to approve the deal. It's the finer points of the facility that matter now and those have not been set as yet (period of facility, repayment terms, security on the loan etc.,) the deal would not have been concluded without agreement for the facility and during discussions on here before the deal was made it was fairly obvious that people were of the opinion that a "rainy day fund" should be in place and the financial expert from supporters direct had stated it was advisable to have such a facility. I know this is not a conclusive answer to your question, but one of the reasons i left the negotiating group in it's earliest days was because i could not completely understand all the financial components of the deal and took a dislike to the fact that my clubs future was hanging in the balance and being treated as secondary to what people wanted out of the deal. I'm now feeling the same about this discussion, so if you don't mind i will leave it at that and advise you to contact SMiSA for any further information you need.

    a few points then:
    1. if 50k shareholder agreement is in place and legally binding - is the issue that the membership are reminded and made fully aware of this?
    2. any future proposed financial transaction over a certain value should be put to members in a vote?
    3. clarification on delegated authority and what would constitute emergency actions, taken in trust by the committee?

Pro-rata investment in accordance with share %. It's just business.
We are saving to buy out another shareholder.
This should be the purpose of SmisA, not diluting funds.
    Just a thought ;-)

That's part of it. I've got real problems putting it into words. It's just loads of wee changes in attitude, ethics, and in professionalism that together would, IMO, propel the club forward.

There is merit in arguing performances on the pitch drives support. Of course it does. The problem is sustainability. How can you ensure that the club consistently finish in the top five in Scotland, and how do you stop numbers from dwindling when raised expectations aren't met. There has to be changes off the park that ensures sustainability on the pitch. That's what I'm driving at.

Purpose - to play competitive professional football in the Scottish football league and cup competitions at the highest level attainable and to fulfil our community and business objectives.
Mission - St Mirren football club aim to be the highest ranked non city football club in Scotland.
(should aim as high as possible - Realistically - stating as a first step to be highest ranked non city club in Scotland before adjusting this to highest ranked outside of Glasgow, then highest ranked, if you see where I'm going)
Then there's those goals and objectives - no harm in setting these out to include cup wins, top 6 in top league, stability of employment, training, qualified coaches, community engagement with local boys clubs, international caps at U 21 and full level etc... lots and lots and lots of stuff to measure and improve - consistent home crowds of 4000, the 4500, then 5000...
Then setting out specific actions to make all of this happen - I'm sure someone is already on top of all of this though ;-)

Shareholder investment in club activity should be on an equal or pro rata basis.
If SMISA funds are to be invested in St Mirren then I'd be asking others to invest in the same way.
I'd save it up and use as cushion/ safety net or future portion of payment to buy out GS.

Someone suggested at the meeting tonight with fans groups (Supporters bus clubs,SMDSA, Saint Mirren Active, Fans Council, SMiSA and Taxi drivers - all represented) that there should be a separate thread for the buyout campaign. Obviously i agree with that suggestion, my hope is that this thread is used to promote the campaign to recruit the 1000 sign-ups that are needed, and that fellow fans pitch in with ideas and opinions which concern only the recruitment of 1000 fans.
With the running total now at 302 in less than a week, i am encouraged and feel we can get the 1000 sign-ups.
Everyone who backs the bid needs to be talking to people about it and directing them to the web page http://www.smisa.net/ to read the details of the bid and also the FAQ part where all frequently asked questions are and will be posted and of course where they can sign up to one of the packages or use the contact us link if they want to talk about alternative methods of payment. The minimum sign-up amount is £12 a month.
Although some fans have already signed up for one of the other 2 options, they can and will only be counted as one sign-up, the sellers and bankers want to see commitment from 1000 fans to convince them that it is a sustainable proposition.
Your thoughts and ideas on how we can achieve 1000 sign-ups are very welcome.

Decisions should always be based on impact on business performance and service to customers based on values and principles that are embedded in the organisation.
These values are driven by the shareholders, owners and directors.
I believe St Mirren should always be a Family and Community focused club with development of our club, employees and customer base founded on these values and principles.
With this in mind the decision is easy.
Keep the family stand as just that, for families, foster this locally and you build a community club.

That would be me my friend.
The other fan shouted back at me to "get tae f**k" When i shouted back to ask if he was happy with what was happening to our club, i again got the retort "get tae f**k !!" (god i love intelligent articulate discussion)
I had to point out to him that as i was halfway down the stairs i was indeed getting to f**k anyway !!
Obviously he had been enjoying the free bar in hospitality or was a simple minded individual who thinks that what we have been getting for the last two years has been acceptable.

In business, decisions are made on a commercial basis founded in values & principles of the business.
St Mirren Football Club have lost some of its values & principles with this deal.
    That's just stupid.
