Bad news. There's two vultures out there. PPL represent the composers. PRS represent the artists and once one of them gets their hooks into you the other will be pouncing for their share of your takings. PRS are usually more expensive. My Bill is £165 PPL and £245 PRS. A lot of the shops around our way clubbed together and paid local buskers to create CD's of their own work which they play to avoid PPL and PRS charges but if you want to play what you want they will shaft you.

I do agree to a certain extent but the argument everyone makes for anything football related be it business, psychological, personnel or even common sense wise is that Football is a special case. If you're a paid footballer you should have the mental state required for the job and some fans just like to boo so players should learn to live with it. its their job. Banning boo boys won't make them winning players only their determination to win can do that.

They are professional footballers yeah, though they are also human beings. Depends on your personality i suppose,  as id imagine you would need to be really thick skinned to zone out all of the abuse from the stands, though I think the younger players if anything would find it more difficult. An off day for a single player can have an effect on a whole teams play in my opinion. When guys like Mallan (for talking sake) are having an off game, that can impact us pretty heavily. I'm sure if your boss in work was shouting across the office at you that 'you are **** at your job, sort it oot' , it would eventually eat away at you and demoralise you. Not looking for an argument, just thinking of the psychological side of things.

Looks like DIV is ahead of the game. He making sure the new rules re football matches are reflected in the forum. The fans must be policed. SFA and Gov says so. The Sin Bin is just the start.
SPFL issue new guidelines on dealing with supporter misconduct
The Scottish Professional Football League has issued new regulations aimed at tackling supporter misconduct.
All 42 of its member clubs are expected to take strict disciplinary measures against fans who indulge in anti-social behaviour during matches.
The updated guidance, which comes into force immediately, states that home clubs are responsible for "good order and security".
Clubs are also urged to step up efforts to identify culprits.
Under the previous rules, clubs could argue that they had taken all practical steps to deter misbehaviour inside their stadiums.
Now they must been seen to actively pursue cases and take "appropriate" action against the perpetrators.
In June, following disorder at the Scottish Cup final, Justice Secretary Michael Matheson called for "a transparent and robust scheme" to prevent and deal with unacceptable conduct.
He went on to warn: "The Scottish government is prepared to act if Scottish football isn't."
On the rule changes, SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: "The SPFL and its member clubs are committed to preventing and to addressing unacceptable conduct where it arises, to ensure our stadiums are friendly, welcoming and safe environments where all supporters can enjoy Scottish football.
"This ongoing work includes this updated guidance for clubs which sets out the reasonably practicable measures that member clubs can take to address this issue and to identify and sanction those who engage in unacceptable conduct.
"It has been fully consulted on with all 42 clubs, the Scottish FA and the Scottish Government and, indeed, dialogue continues with the Government on a number of further measures which will be discussed early this year."

I agree with you 100% as will the vast majority of St.Mirren fans, but surely you can understand the frustration that is shown by St.Mirren fans most weeks.
On another subject not unrelated I think Jack Ross is the right manager for us, sadly some of the players he has at his disposal are only with the buddies for whatever money they can gleam from the club as their careers are all but over. It does no good whatsoever to name those players as at certain stages of the season we will have to utilize them.  Finally Gordon Scott and SMISA are doing a good job and I wish them well in their en devours.

As I'm going to install a vinyl based system into the cafe I looked up to see if a licence is needed. Turns out a PPL licence needs to be purchased around £200 a year. Ok the law is the law. So where does this money go ? Split between main stream artists and publisher's.  Ok how does PPL know what tracks are being played. They don't so not so famous musicians get nothing the same with publishers , you need to be main stream and famous to get money from PPL. Very strange set up. So why not just play and forget ? Bute is a very friendly place. However you have to have everything you should have covered. Businesses do everything they can to cause problems have seen it happen a lot in Rothesay with people I know. There is not a lot of money on the island that's the problem I think.

Surely there is a place for boo boys in Scottish football. There are two main reasons for going to a game which are to enjoy the game or enjoy the occasion.  Sure you expect to do both but your ability to enjoy and understand the nuances of the game depends on your knowledge of the rules tactics, skills, history, players and a host of other factors which affect the result.

Everyone has different levels of knowledge of these factors and generally those who have played the game at competitive levels have a better understanding of the intricacies of the game which allow them to enjoy certain aspects of the game more than less knowledgeable fans.

Your ability to enjoy the occasion is not hampered your knowledge of the game. For some people whilst not an ancillary to the occasion, the game is only part of the occasion. Meeting your mates for a beer before and after is as important as the match. The atmosphere on the terracing can be more exciting than the game. The feeling of being part of something can be more important than the thing itself. To them the team performance is not the main indicator of how good their day out was but simply adds or detracts from their enjoyment of the occasion.

Not as many people play the game now as when I was young and a sport that is struggling to improve attendances needs to attract fans. Look at Darts the PDC embraced the boo boys who were there for the occasion, gave them a place and ‘Stand up if you like darts’ means bigger attendances, bigger names and more prize money.

Now I’m not saying we should accommodate the likes of the Green Brigade but not everyone is a purist and Ideas of how to motivate players differ between supporters. There is a place for boo boys. Whilst a sin bin may work in here it might not work for fans on match days. If they are not offensive, on many occasions sadly the boo boys are more entertaining than the team performance.

A Scottish Premiership star caused Dicko to be 'moved on' by moderators after sparking an internet row. Dicko’s backside was then flicked into the Sin Bin.

Aberdeen midfielder Craig Storie was celebrating his forthcoming 21st birthday when trouble flared at the Black and White Army St Mirren Forum.

Moderators had to intervene to stop the Scotland Under-21 international being slandered on the forum by a particularly annoying poster.

Oaksoft, proudtobeabuddy and many others admitted Storie would probably have 'Kicked Dicko’s backside' over allegations he was a sex pest but moderators have stepped in and flicked Dicko’s backside into the sin bin.

The Scottish Daily Record reports witness Stuart Dickson claims the footballer was a sex pest and he was now proud to be in the sin bin.

A source said: “The Dicko was flagged by Div and the moderators. They cautioned Mr Dickson and moved him on to the sin bin.”

A troll said: “Dicko refutes what’s been alleged. Dicko said he was posting positive comments on the site and he believes he has been branded a pest which he shouldn’t have been but we know he is.

“The Moderator came up and asked, ‘What did you do to support St Mirren? and he told Dicko he was sin binned.

“The moderators replied. We have to stand by our forum rules which we can make up as we go along if we wish because it’s our forum”

Many Posters were happy to see the back of Mr Dickson but it appears the Sin Bin is now the most popular part of the forum. Far away Saint whydowebother and Shull obviously missed him. Returnof isma is god was patched.

Carluke-born Storie signed for the Dons in 2012. He made his first-team breakthrough last season and was voted the club’s young player of the season. He will hopefully help the Saints secure three points against Dunfermline on Saturday and display the passion and skill necessary to achieve the miracle of championship survival. COYS

Starting this Saturday! We need to get behind the team and take a big support up to Dunfermline. We are only 7 points behind Ayr, it's not finished yet.  We can either fight and stay up or go down fighting, i can't accept a meek surrender by the players and the fans. The numerous 'i told you so' threads are not helpful and it seems at times that some fans are never happier than when we are in a crisis. I'm going to go and support my team on Saturday and i expect the players to scrap for everything.  This is not about Jack Ross or the BOD etc.. this is about our team saving our place in the championship and while we're still in the fight we must back the team.

A lot of comparisons going here between Rae and Ross and the duds they had/have to work with. I haven’t seen any home games this season so I can’t claim to be an authority on overall form or team performances but I have been to the two games played on this side of the country namely Easter Road and noted one or two things. Alan McManus managed to knock Hibs out of the cup with these duds. They even fought back from 1-0 down and players like Clarkson and Hutton all played their socks off. Ok it wasn’t a league game and the pressure was off but the players showed they do have what it takes to beat the top teams in our league never mind the bottom ones. I returned to Easter Road to watch the team under Jack Ross but sadly there was only ever going to be one winner that day. Martin Boyle ran rings around us and we were never at the races. Rae went and Ross must be held accountable for lack of player motivation. Someone should ask Alan McManus how he got them up for the Cup game.
Overall I quite like cut of Jack Ross’s Gib. He talks a good game and seems to have improved performances so I hope his tactical awareness and man management skills will come good. The general thought is we can’t keep sacking managers but Top Cat has a point in that a manager without these core leadership skills is worse than useless. We are not dead yet though so whilst it is mathematically possible to survive, let’s get behind Ross and hopefully in the process his leadership skills will improve and he will get us out this mess.

Couldn't agree more Ally. How many managers in any type of job get to bring in 'their own team'? Very rare in my experience. For one reason or another he's not getting the best out of what we have, and if that isn't corrected soon we will be down.
