If Slavia really wanted him he would be there now. 
Slavia generated 25m Euro from the Champions league last season. They played Barca, Inter Milan and Dortmund along the way. The season before they got to the Europa league quarter finals losing to Chelsea. In the past year they have sold two players for 15m and 11m (Soucek to West Ham and Kral to S Moscow. 
I don't think Salford can compete with that. 
ETA... Their owners Sinobo are the biggest property development firm in China. Absolutely loaded!!!! 

79/80 to 84/85 was without any doubt the best period in our club’s history.

For a club like ours it was a golden period and I feel privileged that those were my formative years as a St. Mirren fan.  The mid 70s gave me the bug and then that period just sealed the deal. 
I could have extended it out to 87 to capture the cup win, but as magical a day as that was, from 86 onwards, as a league team you just felt that the rot had started to set in a little and we were definitely no longer the consistent force we had been before. 

It seems a few BIG clubs share that view

What exactly is my theory? 
Liberec fans thought he was average while he was there. Fact! 
I also thought he was average while he was there.. Fact! 
St Mirren fans think he has been superb for St Mirren... Fact! 
I also think he has been superb for St Mirren... Fact! 
I think that based on the 5 or 6 years, I have known him as a player, I would average that out to be 'decent'..... MY OPINION. 
Just because the players you are playing with  go onto bigger and better things doesn't mean that makes YOU any better. John Mcginn kept Jon Robertson out of the team. What clubs are they at now? 
Why can't people just accept that when he was at Liberec he failed? 
Thankfully when he came to Saints he started to play great and hit a run of form. He has been nothing short of superb for us. 
I feel like I am being vilified here because I dared to say he was average before he joined. Not just my opinion, but also the opinion of the fans of the team he played for. Why can't some people just accept that? 
 

Absolutely,  I agree with everything you say about playing for us.  He was phenomenal. 
But, the times I saw him play in the 5 or 6 years previous was nothing special. 
So based on that, the year and a bit great form for us didn't tempt a BIG club to make an offer,as I predicted. 
I do agree with you though, he was superb for us.

I am not here to say 'I told you so', but I knew from the start that Vaclav would not get the BIG move that many on here thought he would. 
He did fantastically well in his time with us and fully deserves his (no doubt) bigger salary. 
As for a much bigger club coming in for him......... I said from the beginning that was never going to happen. 
Good luck though Vaclav, you deserve the financial security this move will likely bring. You certainly done us a turn.

It is all very well them punishing Aberdeen and Celtic by calling off their matches, but don't they realise that essentially St Mirren and Hamilton are being given the same punishment. 
It should be a 3-0 win for Saints and Accies.

Callum Waters was in my opinion the weakest player in our starting X1 most weeks last season. 
I would be gutted if we signed him to be honest.

Worst: A.Bone, Gardiner, Archibald, Charnley, Gow, Baillie, 

I know but also think that you get what I am saying. 

It's difficult to judge against other leagues. My guess is that our top two would adjust and do well in the top league in England. The next three Aberdeen, Hibs and Hearts could adjust and perform well in the Championship. The rest of us would, IMO, fight to fit into Div 1.

Scottish Prem is miles better than Eng League 2.

I agree with your first point, but I'm not sure League 2 is a higher level than our league. Probably a step down in wages though. 

That's a really odd post. He's not playing at Scottish Championship level now and hasn't been for years.
He's a league Two player. The question is whether he wants to take a step down to play for us.
