I was in the front row of the main stand at the B&Q cup final in 1994 and I was up to my ankles in water. That's not far off 30 years to get the facilities up to a decent standard.  As for extreme temperatures the two clubs who have failed to get a game on tomorrow are clearly at the madam!  It's not been that cold ffs?

I fell asleep watching Holland v Quatar and woke up to find I was watching Ecuador v Senegal - quite surreal as it took a few minutes to sink in.

Thats the problem with the UK.  In each of the three devolved Nations it is about a 50/50 split.  To my mind that is not the clear will of the people.  This ountry has a poor history of creating countries where the population is split 50/50, be it ethnic, religious or political.

My wife and I are both pensioners in receipt of the State Pension and Company Pensions. 
I would describe our situation as 'comfortable' and well able to cope with the ongoing situation. (no begging letters, please).
However, the government is giving us each a £250 winter heating allowance, £400 off our energy bills and a further £300 pensioner household heating allowance next April.
That's £1200 before the next energy bill discount and a 10% state pension increase next April.
I am sure there must be hundreds of thousands of pensioners in a similar situation to me. Would it not be better to target those who really are struggling with this huge amount of government cash. It's not even taxable.
I guess it's probably partly a bribe to us old folk to get us to vote Tory - they have wasted the money on me.

Question is .. are we better than last year ..  yes..   can we win at home...yes..  can we get wins against teams with bigger budgets .. yes... are there some total neg fuds on here....  ...   ...

Hepworths the Tailors.  At the time, the were the biggest clothing manufacturer in the UK.  They basically invented ready to wear mens clothing in the mid 1800's and eventually started to sell direct in their own stores.  They always advertised quality at reasonable prices.  They were certainly better than the competition and I bought a few suits from them around that time but I would dispute their use of the word "reasonable".  They also sold Hardy Amies stuff in the 70's.  They are now known as Next.

Eddie Butler, former Welsh Rugby Captain and legendary rugby commentator has died in his sleep while on a charity trek in Peru. He was only 65.  Very much in the mould of the late, great Bill McLaren whom he admired greatly as a commentator, he had a wonderful way with words and a voice that I could listen to all day long.  He was the best rugby commentator currently working on British TV and, and like Bill McLaren, will be very hard to replace.  RIP Eddie Butler.

Too muddy and wet from recent rains to dig.  Still a lot of spuds to come up .  Pink Fir Apples, our regular waxy, knobbly lovelies…. . Had some last night.

Not OCD… work/life related.  I write code, have done for scores of years.  In the days when access/time on computers was scant, you ensured any test runs you got were not compromised by typing/hole punching mistakes.  You get your eye in…

I heard the news late on Thursday, was too busy working with no radio on so was oblivious.
I see myself a fairly neutral with the royal family but I had the pleasure of meeting the queen many years back at a farming show thing where a mate took me along.
She was the nicest, sweetest person you could meet and knew about his animals, coos and spent 5 minutes discussing various aspects of farming.
I understand she's not for everyone but I dislike the smart arsed attempts to discredit and demean her at a time like this.
I work 7 days a week when Im busy but I will take most of next Monday off and  my mates will raise a dram and tell a few stories and may she rest in piece.
