I agree with all of the above. We did it in 4.5 days (20+ miles for 4 days) and it was a bit of a slog during the day, as we felt we couldn't sit down for more than 5 mins as we had to get to our booked hotel by night-fall. It was still enjoyable, but I would say 6 or 7 days would be ideal.
Getting a company to carry your bags would be a must, also. We passed so many folk carrying tents and fully laden backpacks looking miserable. A wee day pack with some waterproofs, water and sandwiches is all you need to cart around with you.
Make sure you break in your walking boots before you go - and also carry some blister plasters with you. I had some compeed blister patches with me and they were great. It's personal preference, but I like to wear two pairs of socks when walking - normally a thick hiking sock and a thin sports sock, and that seems to keep the blisters mostly at bay.
    Hope you enjoy it!

I can certainly imagine awp dealing equally as successfully with a complaint like this one.

    A happy ending.

    I agree with this.
We are in a bad place right now on a bad run with a sitting duck manager who all and sundry know will be leaving the club in the summer. We are favourites for 11th and rightly so.
However, we have what it takes within the squad and within the football club to avoid the dreaded trap door.
As fans we must accept that Danny won't be leaving the club until the end of the season. We therefore must stop focussing our energies on him and start focussing our energies on getting behind the team and getting the belief back amongst fans.
We can stay up without making changes. It starts on Saturday, let's get right behind the team and roar them to what will be a massive 3 points.

I think Thommo does a great job for us and is an above average striker. Certainly good enough to play for any other club in this league with the possible exception of Sellik (at this stage in his career).
To compare him with Somner, McDougall and McAvennie is totally unfair, as they were all top class and playing in better St Mirren teams. Somner is by far the most prolific striker I've ever seen play for Saints. When paired with McDougal, they made a perfect alliance. Those were glory days.
Yardley is another story. A guy full of effort, but not able to match the effort with talent. Thommo is a far better striker.
As for the argument about our current squad - I look at it and see a top 6 spot looking a good bet. So why are we losing to Hearts Youth Academy and unable to beat a relatively ordinary Partick Thiste side?
I've been one of those defending DL all along. However, nice guy that he obviously is, he still isn't motivating these players, he certainly isn't playing them all in their best positions and he certainly isn't making the right substitutions at the critical points in matches. If any one of those faults should prove to be his downfall, it should be the 'hands-in-pockets - sitting on his arse looking blank' issue at times when the players need instruction and motivation. DL just doesn't deliver that I'm afraid, so maybe it's time we employed someone who can deliver on that.
As for who can we afford? I remember we brought in some relatively low-cost, relatively untried guy from East Stirling and he did a good enough job. Wish I could remember his name.
And lastly, on the ubiquitous point of DL having won us a cup, is it even remotely possible that we won that cup despite him being in charge? As I said, I've defended DL all along, so don't accuse me of being among that group who have a major agenda where Danny is concenred. I just think we can't keep relying on shite teams getting promoted so that we don't finish 12th. Even that safety net has now gone with the introduction of the play-off.

You think so? With The Rangers and Hearts in 'Fizzy Pop 1' next season? In that list of players, how many will stick with us? Wave goodbye to the loanees such as Newton, Campbell and Magennis. Kello would be poached, Thommo' will be 36 and looking to management or media work. A groin injury suffering Teale would likely retire. We couldn't keep McGinn... Could go on all day. Income down, the whole shooting match up the Swanee without much of a paddle.
Go down this season, with The Rangers, Hearts, and Fizzy Pop battle hardened outfits like Falkirk and Hamilton and I predict our club would be set back anywhere between five and seven seasons, until a new team emerges from the wreckage.
Relegation should worry all of us - this season more than most.

I was at Boghead that day for the 3-3 game. I was about 14 at the time and travelled to the game on my own as I couldn't persuade anyone to come with me! I remember feeling particularly smug at 3-0 thinking I could go back to Paisley and revel in the glory of being a 'real fan' - only for Bone to f*ck with the team and us to lose 3 goals in quick succession. Felt like a very bad defeat at the tiem, even if it was a draw.
Incidentally, was googling Eddie Gallagher to see what I could find and stumbled across this article about ex St Mirren players. http://wikipins.org/c/St._Mirren_F.C._players Interesting stuff - even if not fully up to date.

I remember a horrible game down at Boghead with Eddie and Barry up front.
Eddie had banged in a hat trick and big Baz had missed half a dozen sitters as we destroyed Dumbarton.
3-0 up with ten miuntes left.
    Final score - 3-3 !
    Only St Mirren.......

My son was very adept at getting any door in the house open at the age of 2 with the aid of his little plastic chair, didnt take him long to work that one out. Interesting to see all the super parents casting doubt on how well looked after the wee boy was. He could have left at 9;30 or 06:00, and if the dad is a suspect then why are the police combing parks, streets and fields? and again, why would he take only one child?. Best to see how this plays out before proferring chit-chat base judgements

Think he could be a good signing, having pace on each side and a natural left sided midfielder will give us more attacking options. Think we'll stick with the same formation, means dropping either Newton Mcgowan or Mclean when everyone is fit which isn't necessarily a bad thing as Newton and Mcgowan have been poor the last few weeks.

Stuart I'm not arguing or justifying myself over this.
Opposing ALL organised religion is NOT sectarian.
Now either accept this or talk to yourself.
If people want to believe fairy tales then that is their right but ALL religions try to impose their narrow minded beliefs on everyone else.
When an organisation spouts shite that everyone who doesn't buy into their way of thinking is somehow a lesser human being then that organisation is simply wrong and MUST be challenged because it's a blatant attempt to control people.
When an organisation tries to deny homosexuals, unmarried parents and children the same rights as everyone else, that organisation is simply wrong and MUST be challenged because it's another blatant attempt to control people.
It is irrelevant whether that organisation is religious or secular.
Opposing those organisations is the only right thing to do if you believe in equality, fairness, anti-discrimination and human rights.
This is NOT sectarianism and again I challenge you to either get yourself educated or talk to yourself because I have limited patience for idiots.
