67/68/69 mins - it's not important - the Black & White Army will come together & do it!

    Fair point!
Still feel 68 is appropriate as we commemorate the beginning & subsequently the sad end!

I think the 68th minute is a good idea.
Games without incident usually tend to have no additional time and the ref blows up at 45 on the button, also people nipping down to pie stalls, toilets etc.
68 minutes into a match, almost every bum will still be in their seat.

As Simon was 45 - that means he was almost definitely born in (68)
How about a minutes applause at minute 68 on sunday to remember one of the "Black & White Army" who never returned from a winning away match?
Thoughts? (Would be polite to let the teams & ref know of course!)

Puts my small moaning about my team being beaten at the weekend into perspective after reading this sad news on the Partick Thistle website.
Very sad news and thoughts go to Simon's friends and family and St Mirren fans for losing one of their own.
    Rip Simon

Totally stunned when I found out.
First met Simon around 20 years ago when we were both in our early 20s . He was manager of a pub I used to visit in Bearsden (55BC).
We had many a chat about Saints at the time (Sometimes till the doors were locked & the sun came up!!)
A few years later he was working at a place called TheLab just off Buchanan St in Glasgow & again always a warm welcome & always a chat about the Saints!
Frequently saw & met him at Love St and now SMP, where he never just said "hello" - always keen to offer a handshake, and a keen desire to ask how I was.
Saw him in passing outside Firhill on the way out on Saturday - never for a second did I..... - well - you can fill that bit in!
He was on crutches for a long time 3 or 4 years ago, but was still determined to make it to the games. Always said he wished it could be more often if it wasn't for his family caring duties.
Strikes home as he was NEVER a bloke who would invite or go looking for trouble. What happened (& I don't know what did!) could've been ANY of us!
    A good guy gone!

I first met Simon when Jane and I started going out, maybe 4 years ago. He welcomed me into the crowd with open arms and really made me feel part of the gang and in general, made me feel welcome in paisley.
One of my favourite times was after the Aberdeen cup game, we watched it on the Saturday lunchtime in Borgia. Me, Jane, Simon, herbie, Danny Carnon and Jane's pal Kay, what a laugh we had, Simon, Danny and herbie were in great form playing off each other, old jokes and stories from their youth. I really felt part of it, and probably that day had a big effect on my interest in St Mirren.
Danny headed up the road and the rest of us headed on to the wee howf, via that place that's now hamish's hoose. I really have no idea what time we left at, but it had been an all dayer to beat any. And we all laughed from start to finish.
From that day on he'd always say hi, talking in length about Thistle, St Mirren and music. He'd always come for a chat at half time if I was at a st mirren game.
Last Thursday he messages Jane asking what the plans were for the game and where I was suggesting for a drink. Star n Garter, it would be. He was in great form as usual, and in even better form after it. Me, Jane, herbie and a few jags fans were heading down to the Woody, so I went over and said Cheerios. A couple of the lads were having a laugh with me about the score, but Simon put them right, go easy, Big Dave's a good guy.
So many things have went through my head since hearing this on Sunday night, what if I'd said to them, mon down to the Woody with us. It would have changed the whole timeline of his night... But you can't think like that. He was having a great night, and I was proud the St Mirren boys were enjoying their night in a thistle pub, my pub. And off we went with a hug goodbye, I think I may have joked he hAd really effeminate soft hands, but I can't recall. I just rember that big smile of his as I walked out the door.
So often when you hear of a tragedy like this, words like, kind hearted, genuinely honest, good natured, lovable, always smiling, are used to describe the person... Well every one of them, and more could be used to describe Simon. He really was all of these things and more.
Although I only knew you for a few short years, I'm honoured to have. I'm going to miss you Simon.

I've refrained from making my intentions public till now but, as it's a decision that will live with us forever, I feel we can't NOT vote for independence.
Mark my words. A NO vote will be a red flag for the bulldog to bite us on the erse!
Forget the so called benefit we get from the Barnett formula. This is actually a myth anyway as we are positive contributors to the treasury.
Vote no and the UK Government will take it as a sign that Scotland can be treated like a backwater state worthy of no more than lipservice,. AND.... They would be right.
Too many are afraid of taking that final step as they would no longer be able to blame the big bad English for any perceived ills or failings.
The vote taken in the seventies should have been, indeed some suggest it was, a resounding YES. That mistake needs to be rectified.
Once that bullet has been bitten we can go forward and give that nanny state party that is the SNP the same bullet and have a proper government which most in Scotland can go forward with.

Love him or loathe him, Alex Salmond is without a doubt the most effective & charismatic leader of All the uk parties.
Cameron is an out of touch with reality smug f**kwit
Clegg is camerons bitch who hasnt had an original thought since his first shite.
Millipede is....... just f**kin hopeless !!
Tory wummin up here has no mandate, no personality & no hope
Scottish Labour bint is actually the office cleaner coz naebody else fancied the gig !!
& remember, its Independence your deciding on & NOT the SNP. There are many supporters of a free Scotland who are members of other parties .

Never really understand why people criticise initiatives like this.
If you don't think it will be good, or you don't think it's good value, then don't go. Simples !
