2 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat in December is certainly an improvement that's hard to argue with, and todays performance was miles better than the gutless shite I witnessed at Cappielow in November - but time really does seem to be running out. Todays failure to close out Morton just compounds the issue.

I think we're actually in a slightly worse position now than we were prior to the QOTS game. At that point we were 9 points behind 9th with a game in hand against the most out of form team in the league. We also had a home game against Ayr on the horizon.
Today we are 6 points behind 9th and they have a game in hand. We also have 5 less games of the season to go than we did then, so 5 less games to catch the teams above us.

Quite remarkable levels of delusion on this site, and from some normally sensible posters too.

Must be something in the water ?

I do agree with your last sentence. It's only a daft game, but this is a site for discussing that daft game. We are going down with a whimper I'm afraid.

It is a CBS. Originally it was an IPS but legislation updated this type of company to CBS which is the articles SMISA now has.

It has no association with OSCR

I'm not the fool. Over the course of my time of being involved in kids football and playing all our matches on either grass or 3g I can only recall 3 times when matches were postponed because the pitch was snowbound or frost bound. And on two of those occasions USH would have has no effect.

USH is not needed in Scotland and if you look back I have steadfastly been against USH from day one.

Asking an opposition to travel in weather conditions when the police are advising people stay at home is more likely to cause real emergencies rather than solve them.

USH should have no place in our game

    You're right. I wouldn't give a f**k.
Put a dress on a pig, it's still a pig.

Postponing a football match by any stretch of imagination is not an emergency. You can bump your gums & think differently.

St Mirren's USH that has been broke for sometime is not an unexpected or dangerous situation.

All that would happen is the game gets played on a different date. Big deal! but you seem to think it would be armageddon. Are you Stewart Gilmour in disguise? [emoji16]

So we are all agreed then Old Trafford has the potential for a good trip out and Greenhill road has the potential to improve and make it a better day out

    An emergency would be

Oaksoft & Stuart Dickson agreeing on something & Shull choking on his coco pops.
I am not talking coughing & spluttering at the shock, i mean obstructed airway, becoming cyanosed & needing abdominal thrusts (formerly known as the heimlich manoeuvre) to avert a respiratory arrest & death.
    That fella, is an emergency.

Postponing a game of football is not an emergency.

Hmm, I take it "Repairman" is the same person who just phoned my son's mobile phone to make interesting threats? You know, just when you think football forums couldn't scrape much lower, here we go again...

I guess if he's got your son's mobile number then either you, or your son, know who he is............if he has truly threatened your son, report him and rightly let the appropriate authorities deal with any lowlife who would behave in such a manner

If it was just about "numbers" on the board then I too would be totally relaxed and willi g to just wait and support amendments to the constitution as required.

This particular statement also seems to have been given a resounding amen and that does indeed concern me.

    Total transparancy and total accountability.

The majority voting against my wishes doesn't concern me one bit... That is democracy.

The majority willing to accept abuse of the group in terms of finance or management does.

I am NOT for one second suggesting this is taking place... But how sweet would it be if another poster was unable to create a stooshie because we were watertight in every possible way?

That though is the attitude that facilitates gross mismanagement of finances of community groups. Unless you know who they are and how decisions are taken you can't possibly conclude that your money is being spent wisely. There's enough history of community groups misappropriating cash to suggest you should care.

Note: I am absolutely not accusing anyone involved in SMISA of mismanaging finances. Transparency/clarity is in everyone's interests.

The confusion surrounding the numbers on the SMiSA board is now clear. 8 are on the SMiSA board. 8+2 are on the SMiSA Popular People's Front board, and 8+2+1 are on the SMiSA People's Popular Front of Judea board. Gordon Scott has just issued his latest sermon from the mount - 'Blessed are the cheesemakers and those who travelled to Dundee on Christmas Eve'. Tony Fitzpatrick meanwhile, is clearly not the messiah and remains a very naughty boy.
    Sorted.

    Oh oh! Meltdown warning....again.

The man who has time to troll a football forum to tell me that everyone is ignoring me over and over and over again, now doesn't have time to be demeaning and destructive.

At the risk of upsetting a number of people, I would like to say that, whilst I don't always like what SD writes or the way in which he phrases things, I do defend his right to bring things up on the forum. No more of a right than any other but certainly no less. It probably shouldn't surprise us that the new set up is taking time to bed in. It is right however that members and potential members (like myself) are reassured that the correct governance is in place and seen to be both transparent and effective. As a non member, for now, I will let others comment on the detail but guys ...please try to listen to each other rather than seeing who can shout loudest or find the smartest put down. Not a bad resolution for 2017.

I'm fully with Stu D on this one - although like others my experience of Old Trafford isn't the sanitised version he portrays.
As a stadium its match day experience is a ten times better than Greenhill Rd - but having sat with "Man Utd fans" in the upper third tier with the players only slightly visible it's not what I want from my weekly football fix
it's also the place where a section of the hard core support do their utmost to terrorise and abuse the "regular visiting away fan" again this is just my experience on the number of times I've been
But Stu D is right and I think exposes the blinkers some of us as Saints fans have.
our Greenhill setup could be vastly improved - the match day experience is poor - the quality of football on the park is at times desperate - As customers we are short changed at almost every opportunity- I don't need to list all the faults as they have been discussed ten times or more before
A trip to many an away ground be it in England or Scotland will have better parking / warm and inviting social clubs for all fans - well stocked club shops - higher standard catering. And you don't need to be a Champions leagues outfit - come and visit me in Warrington and you can watch Warrington town who are currently in the 7th tier of the football pyramid and only 13 miles along the Ship canal from Old Trafford- where your  match day experience will allow you to watch similar quality of football to St Mirren - whilst enjoying tasty food from the snack bar - visiting the fan zone shed stocked with club apparel- whilst mixing freely with the visiting fans with a pint in your hand.
i agree with Stu - St Mirren could get it so much better!
