If they agree to sign him on a bosman, the paperwork between the player and new club is already signed and agreed. You can't rip up the contract, but the new club need to wait until the current contract has ended before the player joins them. The exception is where we agree a fee from County for the player to be released early.

Nobody else made the connection yet that sending Gordon out on loan might have freed up enough funds to sack Rae. Oh the irony! Hughes would be a good appointment in my opinion but for the people touting Gus, his brand of football wasn't much more exciting the Rae's. I'd have Danny back before Gus any day of the week!

Apart from all of the more obvious games mentioned, one that sticks out for me was the 4-4 home draw with league favourites Falkirk in 2002. 3-0 down at half-time with Lee Miller and Mark Kerr running the show for Falkirk. Then the boys got the finger out 2nd half with Junior Mendes for me having his best game in a Saints shirt and Martin Cameron bagging a hat-trick. Lee Miller scored 3 that day too but was probably the only time that season the Northbank was bouncing. Great entertainment!

Since Alex Rae took charge we have had 48 points to play for. Out of that we have amassed 26, which given the diabolical mess he inherited, I think makes pretty good reading. For comparison purposes, Hibs have only collected 24 out of their last 48 available points.

Have to disagree with a lot of the previous posts about Agnew. I watched the game online on Saturday and thought that up until he conceded the ridiculous penalty he was one of our better players. We were also noticeably weaker when he was hooked shortly afterwards. Not saying he's a world beater but certainly isn't as bad as some have made out. To compare him to Thomson per the original poster is a bit unrealistic as "the sparrow" was playing at a much higher level most of his career. Also don't agree that Howieson looks any more physical than Agnew. Maybe he needs to be given a chance in that position however from what I've seen this season he looks just as lightweight. We need another Jim Goodwin that can do the running for the current Goodwin

His experience on the pitch tonight when we went down to 10 men was clear to say. He was very clever in winning us freekicks and gave everything for the cause. Fantastic performance

I believe you are only allowed 3 on loan at the one time (but can loan 5 players over the course of a season). Not sure if this is just from Scottish clubs or UK (i.e. whether or not Conlan being on Loan from Burnley and McMullan from Celtic means we already have 2 out of 3. Good that we got the boy on a permanent deal though.

We have the option of a further year extension for Cameron if he performs well but I take it you forgot to read that bit........nice attempt at a positive post though.
