Rugby Park is just along the road from me so was at the game. It was played at a blistering pace throughout and ascendancy swung back and forth. It was 0-0 at half time although both teams missed half chances. Cuddihy scored around 10 minutes into the 2nd half taking advantage of slack defensive play from Killie. Pooler almost made it 2 a few minutes later but the keeper saved well at his near post. Killie then had the ball in the net from a corner but was chalked off for a foul on the keeper in the air (I think).
The game got stretched from this point but Saints could not add to their lead nor could Killie find an equaliser with the game finishing 1-0 Saints, a very good win and reasonably good display from the team as a whole, however I thought young Cammy McPherson was immense throughout Lewis McLear was a stand out in the 1st the first half, that's the first 3 points of the season long may that trend continue.

So Do I. What planet are some on. Obviously not a clue how, a "team " works. New management, new players, new systems. Our centre half signed Thursday, our front guy signed last week. Just look and moan..... Ok so far this season under Murray in all comps reads WLLWDLD. Eh hardly disastrous.
We watch Kenny McLean star at Dons, we lose McGinn, McGowan..... that's a decent midfield.
We bring in kids and players from Championship and what we expect top 4. Get real!!!
I was happy when we appointed Murray, he has shown good signings, he is very positive and he knows a hell of a lot more than the judges on here..

To be fair, this is exactly the kind of player we need.

The main problem with this new fangled medium called the internet and even more radical, a Forum that allows free expression, is that it allows anyone who thinks they have a right to express them selves openly and to criticise, whether they have the knowledge or not, is that they do it regardless.
Historically (and I mean probably only as far back as the 80's and early 90's) a medium like this never existed, so if you had any form of a grumble you wrote to the newspaper and they in turn would consider it, edit it and maybe print it if they had nothing better to fill the column inches.
Not now, you clatter the keyboard, you vent your spleen and you stand back to admire the negativity you create.
In the case of the Saints, well we've been here before and it is a transitional period, however probably none of you who write vindictive and negative sentences have ever managed, coached or played football at the standard you write about.
If for example you are a mechanic, does that make you an expert on aircraft design or jet propulsion. If you are a writer of detective novels, does that make you a Shakespearean prose writer? Of course not, so as a follower of football does that give you the ability (note I didn't say the right), to criticise or spout your views on tactics or systems to all and sundry?
Let the management team have a season. Let them make mistakes, let them have success. If you were there on Saturday you would see that Saints are a team low on confidence and low on free-flowing expression. That comes with confidence and winning a few games. Just get off their backs for a change!

I'm glad I was out last night and didn't trouble myself reading the tear-stained shite on here.
What a shower of greetin' faced arseholes our 'support' consists of. I'm no 'happy clapper', but thread after thread of doom laden slabbering is tedious in the extreme. We have no divine right to win, and sometimes supporting your club is about having to take a deep breath and seeing out the stormy waters.

BTW I didn't say I agreed with Drew's point of view. I was just pointing out that some CHOSE to misinterpret his OP, just for the sake of an argument. There is a difference.

I really find some posts incredibly naive ................... Goodwin was taken off by the manager for every good reason last night, otherwise the ref would have waved his red card at the next opportunity and believe me the next opportunity would have arrived pretty quickly.
I think they (Livi) were instructed last night to go out and really mix it. They succeeded and only late on did they have someone sent off.
If that is a sign of what Ian Murray believes is where we need to wise up, then he is bang on correct. You play the ref and you play the opposition and if they are being aggressive to the point of getting away with it Ian Murray has to find a leader on the park who will get his message across to the ref that football is the casualty if he lets that aggressive nature continue unchecked.
Murray was absolutely right to take Goodwin off, he needs him badly for the league and Jim would have missed at least the next two league games if he had been sent off. In my books that is positive management!

Irrespective of whether Goodwin's yellow was deserved or not he had given the referee three other decisions to make, the next one he was off........where was the guarantee that he'd have got to half-time. If he hadn't you'd be the very fella to being screaming that he should have made the substitution because of the likelihood of a sending off.

What I'm most concerned about is the fact that we're being bullied by other teams. That's Dumbarton, Morton, Livi and Annan to an extent whose players have been stronger than ours. That's worrying given the full time / part time differential. Our young guys particularly need to bulk up.

The reverse is actually true in his case. Webster could earn more elsewhere.
If he signs for Saints it will be because he has a great relationship with the manager, but also that he likes what he has experienced during his time training with the club.
Andy Webster won't be a six month signing. If he joins it's going to be with a longer term view to probably move into coaching IMO.

In fairness, the signings of Sutton and Adam, and also Dargo et al signalled clear intent and direction. Another cheeky wee multiple signing day would be nice, but with the growing influence of agents, the chances of such a thing occurring diminish exponentially.
Modern fitba is a bit shite, really.

Expect both players to sign, but don't expect either to feature in the game tomorrow night.

MacKay usually quite reliable, if I recall correctly. In saying that, we are way past the point of taking any comment on these deals with a pinch of salt.

From the three league games, as many have said, we missed a penalty, a deflected goal, conceded a penalty and had a dodgy red card against us. This team has the makings of being a top team. Promotion might be a step too far but I still feel it's going in the right direction. This is the problem with Scottish football - no one seems to have any patience! Give Ian Murray time to build the team.

Carswell is a defensive player. Most fans don't notice the work defensive players do.
Reilly is an attacking player.

You are a manager with a very limited budget, You already have a good right back in place around the same age, who has Premiership experience.
Nobody is going to tell me that this was a bad decision by Murray, IMHO he did exactly the right thing.
This was unfortunate for Rooney who if we had not had Naismith would have been signed, of that I have no doubt.
Circumstances have gone against us recently with Naismiths injury but hindsight is a wonderful thing and as the club and manager have already stated cover for positions will be mainly provided by u-20s coming through.
