In an ideal world we would have a team of full-time media professionals producing regular content for the website as well as the programme, TV, radio and whatever else is needed. I long ago gave up hoping there would be such a thing so what we have is one person responsible for running the website and programme and relying on volunteers for the rest.
Getting students involved works for both sides - it gets the club something they don't have to pay for and it gives journalism students some much needed experience. That's why I initially got involved and it's been the same for plenty of other folk along the years. As long as there's still someone employed by the club to oversee it and makes sure nothing untoward goes online (I hope I'm not causing him as many headaches as I used to) I don't see the problem. It's either that or nothing as there's no money to pay for staff.
Likewise, the club either isn't able or isn't willing to stump up the cash for the equipment necessary for radio or TV stuff so the link-up with UWS is a great idea. The radio stuff I've heard is good - although could do with more of it going on SoundCloud - and I've no idea what the TV is like. Obviously there will be issues because the folk involved are new and inexperienced but it's providing a service that hasn't been there before. I'm guessing as long as the folk abroad can see the pictures they won't be too fussed about the commentary as they'll be getting to see a game there weren't otherwise able to enjoy/endure.
I agree it's a bit odd there isn't radio commentary. Maybe that's in the pipeline or maybe they fear that will lose potential customers to the TV.
    Best of luck to them

Exactly..........not a moan or a bleat, a simple observation and expression of taste. Some like , some don't.
Fwiw, football in Scotland and the attending culture has changed and been subject to stringent control and change , imo to the game's detriment.
The customer experience at St Mirren park is now a bi product to an extent ( depends on your point of view of course ) of the crowd controlling zealots.
fwiw I bet there's a decent old atmosphere at Crappielow on Friday........................therein lies a tale ( of the bank )

Love Street had better facilities for disabled supporters. Given it is a modern stadium, the current grounds falls woefully short in that regard.

I think it is a generational thing. If you grew up at Love Street then the new place is definitely not home and probably never will be, despite being better in terms of access and functionality.
The same as those who attended before seating was installed hanker after those days of swapping ends and standing for the whole game.
However my 8 year-old son who was never at Love street loves the new ground and will call it home as its all he's ever known.

Possibly because the last thing we needed at the time was another inexperienced defender.
People are great at looking at the situation now rather than what it was at the time.
I think Rooney would have been an ok addition to the squad but given the fact that we were probably looking for experience in defence he wasn't the right choice at the time.
If we are that desperate for a right back who hasn't played at this level perhaps we should offer a fulltime contract now given that other clubs seem to be offering u20 deals if at all.
Its unfortunate but no manager can expect that a young regular starter would be out for the entire season.

He was getting forward well last night. May not have the final ball every time, but can we really say even Jason did. There's certainly been more positives than negatives, but we do need a right back in with games at a decent level under his belt.

You are a manager with a very limited budget, You already have a good right back in place around the same age, who has Premiership experience.
Nobody is going to tell me that this was a bad decision by Murray, IMHO he did exactly the right thing.
This was unfortunate for Rooney who if we had not had Naismith would have been signed, of that I have no doubt.
Circumstances have gone against us recently with Naismiths injury but hindsight is a wonderful thing and as the club and manager have already stated cover for positions will be mainly provided by u-20s coming through.

Cuddihy failed to prevent the cross ball that led to the penalty that wasn't last night. That said after that he played pretty well considering the opposition.

Murray is not the only one trying to complete the squad. Even Man Utd and Chelsea are actively trying to recruit players. We have to be patient to get the right players in.

Is Cuddihy a natural right back? He certainly was never mentioned on here as possible cover all through pre-season. I don't know if Rooney would have accepted a development deal. If you go on the guy who works with him though, he would have considered it and that's what I said.

Talking common sense doesn't go down too well with some of our readers. If only we had a big budget.

Langfield must start on Friday. No offence to Ridgers but aside from the two brilliant stops, Langfield was vocal, had good command of the box and was constantly reassuring the team in front of him.
Even at the penalty, he clearly shouted three times that there were two unmarked men hovering in front of him before Goodwin made the foul. He was constantly trying toake his defence more aware and we need exactly that. Ridgers is painfully quiet.

So according to some posters Cuddihy is not competent, based on what exactly, he gave away a soft penalty, well so did one of our most experienced players last night, so whats the difference.
These same posters would no doubt tell us that we don't have adeqaute or competent cover for any of our first team positions.
The reality is that the squad is thin especially defensively and we will rely on under-20s for cover, both covering right back and left back seem to have done OK so far.
We don't know if Rooney would have accepted an under-20s contract as he was never offered one allegedly.
To use part of your budget on a position where we seem reasonably covered if Naismith stays fit would seem like madness given the other areas that desperately need/needed attention. i.e. goalkeeping, central defence and attack.
