Don't get me wrong here, i mean old firm fans are paranoid delusional roasters.
But seriously, i fckin despair sometimes when i read the crack pots on here!
Let me get this right, you think that the board of a financially well run club, who are carrying little to no debt and who budget for SPL survival and to break even, have deliberatly withheld funds to ensure relegation to the first division on the basis of two games against the filthy scum from Govan?
and what, they briefed lennon and told him, listen danny, we don't want the team to win games, we want to go down... win games and you're out the door.
How many players have a contract for next season?
how much of a loss would the club make paying those wages on championship gate receipts and club sponsorship?
how often would hospitality be filled as a championship team?
Unless this is a complete wind up and i've been wooshed. if not, then the OP is a fckin moron.

I don't think he is beyond criticism at all WeeBud, i think he has made a lot of mistakes, nothing detrimental to the progress of the club as a whole, every manager makes mistakes.
However, to me, from the outside looking in there are problems at the club that shouldn't be placed at the managers door.
i'd be very uncomfortable with the fact that your board, whilst happy to post on here when they are begging for 10000hrs suddenly loose their login details when there is a massive split in the fanbase on the very aspect that keeps the club alive. ontop of that the fact that you have a boardroom who can't keep their trap shut and are happy to pass on information to posters to feed into the forum, information which could be portrayed in a negative light towards the manager.
do you think there is a conflict of interest having a father & son relationship between the pitch and baordroom, do you think this is having an effect on Danny's ability to do his job?
and regards to Lee Mair, maybe someone can go back and bump the thread from when it was announced he could leave? because the way i remember it, st mirren fans were not that fussed to see him go and were frustrated he was kicking about the club picking up a wage.
i have no idea why he was given a new contract, was there a trigger in the old one that gave him an extention? but the fact is, one of the highest paid players at your club is picking up a wage, he is pissing about on twitter all day apparently watching homes under the hammer and Homes Downunder. that to me doesn't come across as a player who gives a shit about you the fans, your club or his career.
again, i've been to maybe 16 st mirren games over the last 3 or 4 years including 2 cup finals, a cup semi and countless league games. i've watched more st mirren games on the tv than i care to remember. i have shared a supporters bus with you guys on a few occasions and sat in the Bull of a saturday night discussing both mine and your club in depth. wilst lennon is not blameless in all of this, there is something stinking inside your club, from the playing staff right up to the boardroom and from the outside in (not just in my eyes) it looks like someone's being made a scapegoat.
Its the last i'll say on the matter, i'll let you guys get on with it. if you all manage to get rid of him i hope you get the replacement you deserve, maybe if Shiels doesn't take it Gus will come back.
One last thought, maybe he's struggling in the transfer market cause words got around the players in Scotland that there is a large element of st mirren fans who are quite clearly not right in the head and find it totally acceptable to abuse players and staff for 90 minutes every week.

I dont pretend to know why the players are not giving it their best, if there are malcontents in their midst who are making it difficult for others to commit to DL's cause then the only advice I would give is for him to be ruthless and have those persons sit out training sessions and keep them out the dressing room when others are around. They will soon get the message.
Anyone prepared to sit out a contract should be told to do so at home whilst watching re-runs of columbo and murder she wrote. Keep them away from the guys who are wanted.
A couple of simple and brutal gestures should see any malcontents break cover or be persuaded to sod off and ruin someone else's club

So he's kept McGowan and Newton from last season, replaced Goncalves with Harkins and added Caprice as cover for Right back and right mid. seems like some bloody good business to me.
Incidentaly, you lennon haters need to get your story straight. You can't slate Lennon for signing Caprice the midfielder, when last night on twitter Lennon was getting slated for replacing Teale with Caprice the defender.

You want the manager to go cap in hand to the very player he told to leave as he wasn't part of his plans?
Do you think maybe any respect Lennon has, would be lost in that one moment?
It would be ironic if you're all calling for Mair to return and it turned out that it's Mair himself who was responsible for any unreset in the dressing room using his position as a senior head in the dressing room to undermine the manager at every turn, who told him to leave the club.

    He absolutely, undoubtedly is.
In 50 years time, when we're all either gone or so old we don't know what day of the week it is, people, including ourselves, won't give two hoots about one league win in 2013, they will however, forever know and be able to fondly recall the manager's name who led us to our first major trophy in 26 years.
Regardless of what transpires in the coming days and weeks, Danny Lennon is, and forever will be a St. Mirren legend. The fact that any St. Mirren fan is attempting to dispute that is both ridiculous and slightly cringeworthy that they are so blinded by their disregard for the man.
All the people who go on (some even MOANING, FFS) about the cup win saving his job, you're f**king right it did. He won a national trophy, if anything deserved (and perhaps still does) a stay of execution, it was that.
This season's mediocrity, in years to come will blend into next season, the season after that etc, just as most of the early 2000s did and the mid-late 90s before that. 2012/13 will stay with us forever though. That doesn't happen very often.
Sometimes, things come to an end, and I think Danny's time with us is coming to an end just now. Perhaps it's not a bad thing not to stay too long and tarnish a reputation, I don't know. What I do know is though, that I salute the guy, regardless of what happens in the near future. He'll always be a legend in my eyes.
He should be a legend in EVERY Bud's eyes. Every single one of us.

I actually feel gutted for Danny.
He's a decent human being, and whether he has run out of ideas/simply isn't up to the job, or hasn't received the backing of the BoD and/or some players, I don't think he deserves our scorn and contempt.
One of the abiding memories I will have of Danny is when he simply turned and looked at the crowd at Hampden when Newton scored the 3rd goal in the final. I genuinely believe that he was at least as happy to have delivered that win for us as for himself. There is a warmth and regard there that few managers we've had in recent memory have felt towards the supporters - probably since Tony Fitz. And all that despite not having a long-term affinity with the club.
I feel utterly deflated tonight, but I'm not blaming Danny Lennon. Of course he has to take his share of responsibility, but so do others, some of whom seem untouchable at times.
Whatever happens, I'll always hold the guy in high regard for delivering the best day of my Saints supporting life. He'll always be a hero for that.
    Its a bloody shame.
