38 league starts Carey got, 46 overall in two years. Plenty of opportunities. Great ability, nowhere near consistent enough. Just my opinion based on the facts that are out there.

Players will come.....This is the norm ....New team new hope......My opinion on Carey is he is a lost talent....Not one for our dressing room and someone who should take a good look at himself at a new club ....I wish him well.

Got to agree with Poz's comment above re season tickets. For the fans saying they won't renew at the moment because players are leaving, did you not hear Stewart Gilmour on TV saying we need at least 400 more through the gate to keep our best players /sign better players. Not renewing your season ticket is the complete opposite of what he asks. The attitude of our fans is baffling at times. Spoilt kids syndrome

Don't see what all the fuss is about, the squad that saw us finish 2nd bottom in the league has been deemed as not good enough and as a result most of the players responsible for this are being punted. If we still haven't added quality by the start of August by all means feel free to moisten ones pants.

Carey as a dead ball threat - 3 goals and 5 assists in 55 league games for Saints in the past two years. That's not enough to warrant keeping him for. I've said already I like him as a player, and have been waiting for him to really show what he can do, but he's never really done it. Never cemented a place in a team that finished 11th this season. I wish him well, and have no doubt I'll see more wonder goals from him, probably about once a season.

Danny's job is on the line next season, and if he feels the need to do a lot of business to improve the squad, then that's what will happen. The cup final squad are all legends because of what they achieved in the cup - that will never change. The fact is that too many of them never contributed enough over the course of the season. Our top contributors in terms of goals and assists were Thommo and Teale, who have been given new contracts. They've earned them, while others haven't. Simple as that.

Not surprised regards Parkin, Carey my instinct tells me we should have kept.
Hey ho, its Dannys job to make and re-shape the team. I hope he really blasts the market this summer, gets the targets he has identified (?) & creates a compelling team that can deliver against our expectations of a top 6 finish.

Personally I would have kept Carey and Imrie, especially with all the rumours about McGowan. Can't understand why Robertson is still with us, surely he should be off?

Lennon has been ruthless in the past and it's been beneficial. However, I'm worrying that he will be overly ruthless this time round. Not sure if he can capture the stature of players such as a thommo/Teale/Isma again, but we need to give him the opportunity to prove us wrong I guess!

A fair bit of needless knicker wetting going on. The fact of professional football life today when you don't command a transfer fee is the likelyhood you will move on when you're contract is up!,
Carey would probably imo sign a two year deal wanting more (or at least the same) than present. he hasn't earned it and he has had the opportunity to do so. So he moves on. perhaps he turned down a 1 year deal on a wage reflecting his worth over the piece?
There are literally hundreds of out of contract players, some really decent on both sides of the border looking for a club. It would be madness to tie up a wage on a player who hasn't performed when there are options.
I have a sneaking suspicion Carey's loss may be Imrie's gain??? And who's to know what good loan signings we may pick up? Who wouldn't in DL's shoes bite the hand off someone offering you Dummett, Newton and Goncalves knowing what you know now?
And none of us knew they existed on the planet this time last year!

Three are on loan, three are out of contract, two are still tied up for another year, Smudger said ages ago he was going to join the Polis, that leaves Adam and Parkin.

Carey isn't interested in playing for another SPL team, from the day he signed his 2 year deal with us his ambition was always to move down south.

Imrie has scored as many League goals (3) as McLean in less games played.
