I wanted to go to the moon, but I've heard there's not much of an atmosphere...

    ...I'll get my coat...

    Ignore Shull, cos' he's huffy,
If you go for a dive, we'll award it a five,
    Walking in a Duffy wonderland.

Loved Berlin. A must-do is to eat cake and have a coffee and buy chocolates at Fassbender & Rausch in Gendarmenmarkt..... https://www.rausch.de/en/schokoladenhaus/
Brandenburg Gate was smaller than I always thought from seeing on TV but was great. Very atmospheric.
The DDR museum was very good, as was the German History Museum.
Way, way too many places to mention them all. The food was great, the people were great. An absolute ton of stuff to see and do. Loved the place.

The pundits didn't handle it well, but there is an important point here, in that the IAAF protocols in this type of situation are clearly lacking. Very shoddy and amateur from them.

Whilst it is absolutely correct that a suspected case of norovirus is isolated, what they SHOULD have done does not take a rocket scientist to work out:

    1. Athlete presents himself to IAAF medical personnel, gives a single account of what has happened.

    2. IAAF medical staff should have immediately asked for Botswana medical personnel and athlete's direct team to attend and corroborate the version told and ascertain additional context.

    3. Decision made following second opinion of additional doctor in presence of original doctor and Botswana officials.

    4. Joint statement prepared, fully outlining the situation, and communicated to officials and media.

Again, this really is not rocket science, it's basic, simple, fair procedure.

Instead, what we got was an absolute IAAF clusterf*ck where it is crystal clear that the IAAF had a shoddy, uncorroborated account, and a lack of basic communication.

So again, ultimately probably the right decision, but the IAAF are clearly incompetent with what should be a simple situation and ARE the cause of the controversy that happened as a result.

They had loads of time to sort it out properly, the original visit to the medic was the previous day. I'd understand if it was a last minute thing and they had to make a split second diagnosis and decision. But it wasn't, and so it quickly became apparent that the IAAF procedure is not fit for purpose. I was quite surprised at how poorly they handled the incident from start to finish. Hopefully they learn and take their responsibilities a bit more seriously and professionally in the future.

They have to realise that this isn't a case of Joe Blogs being kept off of work then popping back in. This was one of the two best athletes in his field, at the peak of his career, at the world championships. This is something a top class athlete might only have the opportunity to be competitive at a handful of times, sometimes only once in their career. For this reason the IAAF have a real duty to have procedures that might result in an athlete's forced withdrawal absolutely watertight to ensure fairness for all concerned.

Irvine had a poor game playing left back a few weeks ago.

Other than one early slip he had a great game against Falkirk and was one of our best players!

Quick look through the posts, and a lot of people highlighting good performances from all over the pitch, but don't think I saw anyone mention Irvine, so I wanted to give him a mention. Personally I would have given him man of the match yesterday. He made 3 or 4 absolutely crucial interceptions, didn't let anyone past him, and was incredibly composed at the back when under pressure. He did the dirty work that complemented the more eye-catching play from McGinn, Reilly and others.

If you have a car and into food a trip to Inver restaurant is unmissable across the wee ferry and a 30min drive up the road it's in the middle of nowhere.  It's on a par with Tom Kitchen at a fraction of the cost. The female chef has already made her TV debute. My first trip there did not fancy the menu how wrong I was it blew me away  the flavour combinations were incredible. This restaurant will be in the top 5 in Scotland I kid you not. I will have my scarf on say hello if on the ferry. Edit - I'm opening what used to be Bleathers Bistro on the front. Should be open around 4 weeks from now. If ever down in the future pop in and say hello.
