Anything less than £500,000 and a sell on fee (which it will be), then we may aswell shut the academy - what is the point in producing million pound players and getting a development fee every time?

Not to be blunt but I think we will need more than 1 player to buck this trend.

He is 34 next month, last season he also had Flynn in there with him (who we all know works tirelessly and is great on the ball), make of that what you will...

The way we play I think the wingers are pretty essential (i'd imagine Goodwin agrees, when was the last time we had 4 pacey wingers on the books at once?).
If we are absorbing pressure, going direct and not really utilising a fullback overlap we need as a bare minimum:
A - striker on the park suited to playing the battering ram and holding the ball for 90 minutes
B - Options down the flanks to release pressure

De ja vu of last year. 2 extra subs per game and we still don't use them to freshen things up.

Jim needs to get a handle on the substitutions, Kettlewell had made good changes before the sending off, we can only expect tired endings to games if the opposition make their full 5 changes and we only choose to make them when forced to. Doesn't appear Jim has confidence in many on the bench.

Can't see that happening. Some players are guaranteed a jersey and some are definitely not.
I can't remember very often in the Jim era coming away from a game and thinking we played really well, if we win it's usually stuffy and totally unimaginative.
To be sitting 5th just shows the lack of quality in the league, I suppose you can only beat what is infront of you though.

    Attention.
Good luck Vaclav - and thank you for your service. Most would agree you are the best goalkeeper to wear the stripes (or bright pink) in the modern era.
I hope no players or agents read this forum...

Salford are a club on an upward projectory having been promoted 4 times in the last six years. Plenty of cash swirling about as well in having Adam Rooney play for them in the National League and earning a lot more than Aberdeen were paying him. Slavia Prague and Legia Warsaw both allegedly wanted Vaclav however I am sure Salford can pay him more.
Vaclav was an excellent keeper for us and I am surprised at those that are dismissing him. Best of luck Vaclav, you were great for us.

Ok? I'm not sure what the point of that whole paragraph was. Who was talking about Stubbs? There were worse players under Stubbs... so Junior isn't that bad then, is he? Who said anything about time?
On our budget, especially at this time (and given we haven't so far brought in another forward) Junior is obviously what we can afford for that level of player. He does a job at stretching a game late on, if nothing else.
I can't tell you if you were criticising him initially or not but if you don't want to criticise Kyle, then don't? He was a big factor in us surviving under Kearney. Him and Dreyer were the sole bits of proper quality we had. It's his first pre-season injury free in many years by his own admission and he is only 21, I doubt a loan player of that age from another club would receive as much criticism (not necessarily from yourself by the way) as our own do.

For all he lacks, in the grand scheme of things we've had worse squad players than Junior (providing we get another forward in).

RE: McAllister - there always has to be 1 homegrown scapegoat, doesn't there? There will be games Durmus is quiet and Kyle wins us... wingers don't play consistently, it's a tale as old as time.
