shull
While on motoring mode, my Car is presently recovering from a Couple sitting inappropriately in it. Both man and woman must have been at least 20 stone each. The guy sat in front passenger seat. Unfortunately his wife sat directly behind him. Felt as if my car had 2 nearside tyre puncture.. I couldn't comment at the time (pre -tip)

I couldn't comment at the time (pre -tip) You do know that on many vehicles now , indicators are optional extras ? This is mainly on the Chelsea tractors / and kid-on 4 wheel drive vehicles though , I have noticed that other models are now affected , particularly on the M8 . . Just like manners , using indicators costs nothing. .
Bud the Baker
Just back from driving my daughter to her house, indicating seems to be a matter of personal preference down here in Ayr. oaksoft
Tailgating is the biggest issue. If you stop driving too close to people it doesn't matter if they indicate or not. Stop whining and stay back.

Stop whining and stay back. Not always. I lise count of the times I'm sitting at a roundabout and using the wee orange flashy light thing on the drivers side to show I'm turning right. I wait for a gap in the traffic... in EK that can be days at a roundabout during the school run.... only for some twat to turn left without indicating when I could have been out and helped the traffic flow had they given a wee hint as to their intentions. Patience my boy. Everyone rushes around like blue arsed flies as though a 5 minute delay will somehow see Scotland drop into the North Sea and float away. I doubt there is more than a few on here know the braking distance at 50 mph without looking it up.

oaksoft
No point in looking it up as it is well out of date. It's still using the same distances as back in the 50s/60s when cars brakes were shite. Everyone should know how effective the brakes are on the particular vehicle they are driving and drive accordingly (also taking into account their own abilities as well). No need for this minimum braking distance malarkey. That was just my way of pointing out that you missed out the word "minimum". The law would state otherwise as would the vast array of traffic accidents we see every day. The Highway Code is all we have and the law is related to it. Anyway what do you reckon the minimum braking distance is at 50 mph? I'm pretty sure it's not the 20-30 feet I'm regularly treated to. What about 70mph or 80mph? Do you reckon 50-60 feet is enough? These are the sorts of distances I routinely see on the roads every day. It's not the speed which is the problem as much as impatient counts who don't actually know what the minimum braking distances are for their car and in the meantime believe that they can ignore the Highway code in the meantime.
