Investigating the impact of influenza on excess mortality in all ages in Italy during recent seasons (2013/14–2016/17 seasons)

In the winter seasons from 2013/14 to 2016/17, an estimated average of 5,290,000 ILI cases occurred in Italy, corresponding to an incidence of 9%.

More than 68,000 deaths attributable to flu epidemics were estimated in the study period.

Italy showed a higher influenza attributable excess mortality compared to other European countries. especially in the elderly.

Until Oaky produces another pointless graph I'm not believing anything.

Would that be this person?

The editor of that site is a Prof Kevin McDonald

Who is a Director of

The American Freedom Party

Who were formally known as American Third Position Party

This is a typical racist story from their website

Noel Ignatiev — a Jew with more chutzpah than scholarship — finally died, and good riddance! Despite not having an undergraduate degree, he was welcomed as a “tenured professor” at Harvard, where this misanthrope misspent his days working to “abolish the white race.”

This ugly psychotic died at Banner-University Medical Center in Tucson on November 15th of an intestinal blockage, proving that he really WAS full of sh*t, just as we had always suspected.

As a Jewish communist, Ignatiev was biologically and psychologically incapable of telling the truth about race or any other subject, even if to do so might have saved his soul.

I've purposely not included any links so folk don't accidently click on them and see anymore examples of what I can only describe as rancid racism.

I can only surmise that the person moderating this site didn't know this information.

Here’s another graph that will melt oaksoft’s brain

Shows that pneumonia deaths in the US are exponentially DECREASING this year.

Maybe someone has decided to start reclassifying them as something else?

Who knows. Maybe oaksoft can explain....

What melted my brain was watching you provide links to white supremacist websites.

That and the fact that you argued on Pie and Bovril that social distancing was useless in the UK and then two posts later said it was something we should copy from Sweden.

That was hilarious. Right up until the moderator booted your baws off the site.

Do you know he got more than 70 likes for doing that?

Yep I can explain. That is not the shape of an exponential reduction curve.

Glad to help.

Why are pneumonia deaths dropping off a cliff in the US?

No, no, no. First, you man up and accept that you were wrong to call that curve an exponential decay.

From the guy who had to ask me the formula to calculate a simple compound interest question.....

Man up and admit that you don’t know what you’re talking about oaksoft

Could the latest drop in that chart be put down to less folk getting the flu, because of the publics heightened awareness in the transmission of the virus?

So Covid 19 doesn’t cause pneumonia?

How to shoot yourself in the foot with one easy post....

Oaksoft is the guy who recently told us all that dividends don’t matter

Even though I knew he didn’t understand compound interest and had to ask me for a formula for a simple problem, It was at that point that I really realised he was totally clueless

This, you lying fascist scumbag:

Thanks. What formula are you using for that calculation?

I haven't worked out a general formula when you include a further injection of cash each year in additiona to everything else.

I should also say that the returns should be well above 5% if you include both capital growth and dividend payments and re-invest all of those as well although obviously you'd need to sell the shares to benefit from the capital gains.

If you got £3m back from a £1m investment then that would equate to a 200% return

£1m * (1 + 200%) = £3m

or

£3m / £1m - 1 = 200%

This would equate to 11.6% per annum

(1 + 200%) ^ (1/10) - 1 = 11.6%

Assuming payments are annually in advance its:

payment * (1 + interest) * (((1 + interest)^term - 1) / interest)

So, where the payment is £200k per annum and the term is 20 years you would get

200,000 * (1 + 5%) *  ((1 + 5%) ^ 20 - 1) / 5% = £6,943,850

Alternatively, just stick into a cash flow in a spreadsheet! :P

OK Thanks.

Yes, I'm using a spreadsheet but I still need to give a formula. :P

The first quote is funny considering that you told us that dividends didn't matter. What a fool!

OK, I will answer that when you answer my question about you both supporting and criticising social distancing on the same page.
