Very proud to see the effort made by the Saints fans last Saturday. Huge respect to those on the bus and minibus.  I only live 20 miles away from Wrexham and at the end of the game a Wrexham fan came up to me, gave me a Wrexham badge and said our support was superb and wished me a safe journey home!!
I've just watched the S4C highlights of the game and Tollitt dived for the penalty so should have been given a yellow-sadly the ref was duped.

I've not posted on here for a while but just want to thank the people that have sent messages texts tweets etc for there support and even the guys that have posted on here. I have to say it was an honour to be asked by SMFC to take over the job. Both myself and Colin feel that way. The buzz you actually get at walking in the main entrance with a club tie on on a matchday is something you can't explain.
Saturday was our first game without phil who I have to thank. Obviously for the past 20 years but also for showing us how things run on a matchday for the previous 2 home games.
Looking forward we obviously want to enhance the matchday experience for supporters. And by next season hope to have a few new things in place.
On the volume issues that's something we will obviously look to address going forward. Although at half time on saturday there were cheerleaders doing a routine on the pitch. So for the girls to hear it had to be at that level.
Colin and myself are just 2 life long buddies kinda living out a childhood dream. But we both very much appreciate the feed back. Which I have to say was on the whole extremely positive as I mentioned before. Also speaking to people we've have had nothing but positive things said. We understand that we will never be able to please everyone. But hopefully we will for the majority of fans enhance the day.

Think one of the big things since Ross has brought in his own players in January  is the amount of goals we've scored and the number of different scorers. Since we beat Dundee at the end of January which felt like a bit of turning point, we have scored 34 goals in 16 games so averaging more than 2 a game and had 12 different scorers..
    Mallan   - 5
    Morgan - 5
    Sutton  - 4
    Loy - 4
    Stelios - 3
    Davis    - 3
    Smith    - 2
    McGinn - 2
    Mckenzie - 2
    Magennis - 2
    Clarkson - 1
    Baird - 1

ETA - For comparison.. before that Dundee game we had played 21 in the league and scored 19 goals!

Here's my piece and I hope just like my young nephew other youngsters were inspired by Saturdays atmosphere.
My nephew (12) is brought up by a Rangers supporting father, has an older brother (14yr old blue nose) and the latter has never even considered supporting St Mirren (fair enough). The youngest though has been following Saints since around the age of 7/8 years old as he wanted to be different and because his uncle supported them and seen the passion i carried following my team. He has a season ticket for Saints, though doesn't get to as many games as he would like due to living in Edinburgh. Unfortunately his old man has been taking both him and his brother to Ibrox though and has probably been there more than St Mirren Park this season not through choice. He has became distanced with the club, probably as far back as Ian Murray era.
I took him to the game on Saturday and I have never seen such a transformation in his mood. He was absolutely buzzing prior to kick-off and when we entered the ground to our seats, his jaw nearly hit the ground when he seen the atmosphere and surroundings he had just entered. The flag displays, drum (this has to get the green light for home games) and 90+ minutes of singing had him on cloud 9. After full-time i have never seen him so happy at the end of a defeat. He immediately asked me to take him to the Ayr game if he could get through for it.
My point is, the atmosphere created at the away games for the last couple of months has been outstanding and something i would like to see brought to home games. The drum is a major part of this and if that kind of noise can inspire youngsters to a better match experience, then I think its a no brainer. I thought it would be easier to sway these things with the SMISA takeover.

First Match today that I have experienced The Drum .
When I arrived, my seat was across the Aisle from it and I feared the worst.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
    IT WAS ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT
The Dude in charge of the sticks was fecking brilliant and keeping  those beats going for 2 hours was amazing.
WELL DONE THAT BUDDIE AND CONGRATULATIONS TO THE REST OF THE SINGERS ALSO.
in fact, the 5000 Saints fans were brilliant. 10/10.
THE DRUM MUST BE ALLOWED INTO ST MIRREN PARK

    Update
    - More than 600 flags have been attached to their sticks.
    - The "design" is being worked on, no hints given but it's looking good already (imo)
    - Motherwell have been sound as f*ck, and granted us early access, we'll be up at the crack of dawn to place the flags on seats, if you find one on your seat, you simply wave it as the teams come out.
    - Due to the amount spent and the good quality of the flags, we request that anyone who doesn't want to take their flag home as a keepsake, places it in one of the bags that will be near the exits at full time. We plan to donate plenty of them to the panda club to add a bit of colour to home games.
    - Our singing section has fully sold out, could have sold it out twice. Cooper stand should be pretty lively on the day!
    Come on ye Saints

Having a gazebo and a table full of Cup Final t-shirts, flags, badges and scarves inside the Saints sections of the ground would be better than nothing.
There will be Saints fans who don't normally get to games on Saturday so lots of scope for selling merchandise before the game.
Overseas clubs are far more savvy with this type of thing.

Since  AWP still does the Motherwell merchandise we should have got him on board and everyone collects it on Saturday in Motherwell at the ground before the game.

Surely some kind fellow Saints fan could pop down the club shop for you and get the flag & scarf and meet you on Saturday.
I would do it no problem but unfortunately going on Holiday on Wednesday and missing the cup final.

A massive thanks to everyone who turned up (despite the heavy rain) today in Erskine and supported the St Mirren Fans Squad against M**ton Fans..
Plenty of money was raised in aid of Cancer Research and we even managed to hammer the "mighty" Ton 4-0.
Cheers to Hugh McMillan (photos below) & Allan Picken for taking photos of today's game and a huge thank you to the volunteers (Zoe, Amy, Kiara etc) who went around selling programmes and raffle tickets for the charity.

Very frustrated by the ticketing situation as well. No choice of stands via online so emailed straight away after buying to ask for the O'Donnell stand and typically got two for the Cooper stand in the post today.
Used to get a better service when Audrey was there.

Brought up in Foxbar/Millarston flats, been in Jersey since the late 80's, never realised until the 2013 final how many buddies there were over here, day before the game Easyjet flight to Glasgow was literally full of buddies, even the captain commented "Good morning ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Easyjets special St Mirren charter to Glasgow"

All up for Ultra culture, the home nations have been left behind by mainland Europe in this respect.
Just state which part of the ground it will be displayed and the rest can buy tickets for the sidelines.
    Will be donating

Oaksoft, I don't even want to get into this. We'll let you know where we'll be doing it as soon as the location is confirmed.

As for not helping the team? We've heard from our own players that they love having a lively Saints support behind them. This is a great opportunity to bring our fans together, united behind the team. Just hope everyone will get involved, it only works if everyone participates

It apparently wasn't a lesser deal for the club, the JD deal, as opposed to what was on offer from rivals. We, as fans, simply have to accept this as being fact. However, personally, I wonder that if JD were so stonkIngly good over everyone else, why were tons of other Scottish clubs not falling over themselves to ditch their Puma, Nike and Adidas deals to grab a slice of the JD action. Anyway... I still believe that despite the boon of bespoke design, it was a poor deal for St Mirren fans. Having to go to three JD stores, nothing available on matchdays when our core support was gathered in one place, poor stock levels, poor launch dates, dreadful availability at Christmas, quality control issues, and a piss-poor St Mirren presence, certainly in Braehead and Silverburn - where Saints tops were shoved behind the ubiquitous Barcelona, Man Utd and 'Old Firm' tops.
My belief is that a want-away BoD, with a shambolic merchandising situation after AWP, saw the opportunity to have zero responsibility, allowed JD to take care of the whole shooting match, and washed their hands of another troublesome issue. The fact it was a poor deal for fans is something I don't think would have saw them lose any sleep.

They're a green and white Gretna!!! When Harris goes, so will they.
Their chairman is very astute and because of Oswestry's location gets funding from both English and Welsh FA's as well as £600k per annum from UEFA by qualifying as Champions and getting through the first qualifying round each year. Their ground is an Astroturf attached to a bowling alley so you can see that with so little overheads, they're able to tick over quite nicely with that sort of income. Sadly they busted an old established club called Oswestry Town in order to get into this position and the locals won't touch them with a barge pole so their gates are still in the sub 200's despite all the success and outlay over the years.
I saw them lose at Carmarthen last week but they weren't firing on all cylinders. I'm hoping the cup win will inspire Saints but they'll be no walkovers.

Good news winning at East Fife and The New Saints got beat for the first time all season at part-timers Carmarthen today. A near-post header from a corner on the stroke of half time doing the job in a 0-1 defeat.
Fingers crossed for us stringing a two match winning run together at last!!!

That's my weekend in Paisley sorted then
TNS are largely despised in the WPL, not just for being based over the border but for having an ego-centric owner who runs the club on the back of UEFA money.
They contribute nothing to the league in terms of fan-base but they do have a good team that has bonded over the years.
That win yesterday showed how they can mix it on grass which surprised me a little because they were the plastic pioneers in the Welsh league.
Here's to an "Auld" Saints win!!!
