This won’t happen, the veto is a red herring. This is why it was eye rolling stuff when questioned at the last meeting. It’s extremely unlikely that the interests of the Kibble & other directors will diverge to the point where they veto recommendations. Even if they did, they can’t force through who they want as they have no additional approval power over SMISA regarding board decisions, it would be impossible with 51% shares.

The veto is a protection mechanism & that sort of thing is standard regarding voting rights on a BOD with two or more significant controlling parties. The very worst case scenario would mean deadlock negotiations, not Kibble getting some way that was detrimental to St Mirren.

As usual, something that’s relatively straightforward & fair has been entirely blown out of proportion by some on here. All power still sits with SMISA members (not the Kibbke), if they don’t say yes it’s curtains to any would be applicant.

A detrimental Kibble veto is probably on par regarding possible risk with an earthquake taking down the stadium. 🤣

SMISA members overwhelmingly backed this approach. Every St Mirren fan had the opportunity to be a member & to vote on this choice. You might not like it but democracy is king & it’s hardly a bad approach for any St Mirren fan with trust in the people running the club.
To think a more informed choice can be made from a ‘short resume’ than an in-depth interview process by people in-trusted to run the club is strange to say the least.

Hibs fan here thought your team were excellent today and deserved at least a point your fans also gave good support.
Good luck for the rest of the season 👍

I heard that these clubs tried to contact us but, despite e-mailing and phoning. couldn't get an answer.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.
This week it was announced 5 clubs...Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen, Dundee and Dundee United have commissioned Deloitte to conduct a review of the league with a view to unlocking new revenue.
I am not sure how these 5 clubs came together, whether one club got the ball rolling and invited the rest of the top flight clubs to join them.
Do you feel that we should have joined the five clubs if we were invited to do so and what do you think would be a perfect scenario solution to get a better share of income?
Could it also be the end of Doncaster if it's found that he has not been performing at the best possible solution for all clubs rather than two.
Whatever the outcome, I personally still wish for a 16 team league with a split at 30 games and include the championship top 2 teams as part of a bottom half split (I think the Belgian league works like this). Whether that would help generate more income with more viewing figures I'm not sure.

Even their set up for promotion to the super league isn't as straight forward as you would think. Winning the championship doesn't guarantee promotion to super league but winning the grand final does.
There has to be some change to league set up to make it more competitive more so with the fact the last team outwith the OF to win the premier was Aberdeen with fergie in charge.
Another couple of points are when sevco had to start again, why
    1) were they allowed a huge playing full-time squad to compete in a part time league, not exactly a level playing field.
2)were they allowed to get back into the league set up immediately, down here if a team goes tits up they have to start again way down and name changed to say AFC Wimbledon

I'd say teams were coerced to letting it happen.

Totally agree, SMISA should invite kibble. I'm not interested in a blame game - i've worked a lot with kibble over the years and they have done some very good work with young people - but in my experience their business is paramount, and the justifiable concerns is they are making decisions based on kibbles best interests rather than the clubs, despite attempts to claim otherwise. Concerns are made worse by the lack of transparency over how their involvement works, and the constant "great bunch of lads" patter from the club.

I read on Twitter another meeting has been arranged for 4 weeks time. I know it was a smisa meeting with smisa members, though with the negativity shared amongst some of the support towards Kibble, surely they should be invited along or they should at least ask to attend the next one, along with Tony so they are digesting what the feedback is in person and explaining how they can improve things their side. The general manager role to me sounds a bit alarming if its not been given to someone with the relevant experience.
Tony has also had a lot of flak and he has a right to defend from his perspective.

Calls for a McGrath contact extension, can't see it happening. Would love to be proved wrong, though there is no loyalty in football.  He was ready to leave at the beginning of this week.
He could have a very good pick of clubs on a pre-contract come January, without a transfer value becoming a stumbling block.
One thing I will say is, his international call up whilst playing for us, is a great selling point for our club, when trying to pick up any future transfer targets.

It would of suited us all better if that McGrath deal with hibs had went through lastnight, McGrath has been wanting to leave for a while but he has been saying all the right things in the press about being happy here etc, he was In Middlesbrough just about to sign when the owner pulled the plug on his deal, McGrath’s agent has then been on the blower straight away to the likes of Aberdeen and hibs trying to get a deal done which never happened.
Scott Allan and Drey Wright wanted to come and it was all agreed along with 300k, Scott Allan would of been class for us but Drey Wright would of been very meh but we would of had money there to dip into the free agent market.
Now we are going to lose McGrath for nothing as he wanted to go and there is zero chance of him signing a new deal.
Say what you want but that deal lastnight would of been perfect for us in my opinion.

Exactly. Spent a lot, if not all of the budget early doors and was possibly hoping that if McGrath moved on this window, it would open up funds to add 2 or 3 more including the new boy.

Why would you be fuming if you were Goody?
He was given a budget and he has known for months about what was needed yet he has used the budget on some amount of shite and he has clearly miss managed.
    Poor management.

I know the media were reporting he was a replacement, though he can play a few different positions from playmaker, to sitting deep. Could possibly be the player that replaces the void left by JDH. Wouldn't surprise me if he starts alongside Power and Erhahon drops to the bench when back from suspension.

From what I believe, we were also in for Nisbet when Hibs got him and were put off on his valuation.

I think a question that remains to be answered is, will it only be the batch that the club currently have onsale that will have the overprint, with future bulk orders to the manufacturers, produced minus sky view? I really don't know how this sort of things works.
It's the best looking strip we have had in years as well which adds to the disappointment, as I am reluctant to buy until the above is clarified.
