Absolutely agree 100 % it was never acceptable years ago to lose a friendly never mind a competitive match baffles me now that a club like ours can treat a competition with such contempt. I have absolutely loved the first quarter of the season but I think we are going to struggle in next quarter utd and falkirk seem to have got there act together and our fringe players are nowhere near the standard required if we lose a few to injury we are fecked.

    A confidence thing?

Stevie without confidence at Saints was a poor player and a frustrated one at that as he himself knew he was capable of better.

Stevie feeling the love and full of confidence is a thing of brilliance..

A precocious talent capable of making the impossible look ridiculously easy.

Remember Charlie Adam at Rangers v a different player with the same name at Blackpool with a manager who believed in him?

Lewis would do very well to consider the Jack Ross effect.

Stevie Mallan benefited from it so much... and seems to be suffering for the lack of it!

I think a lot of our problems are starting from the central mid area. I don't think mcginn or mcshane are tracking back and that's putting pressure on our defence. If u watch the dafc highlights 2.30 mins  in mcginn loses the ball then jogs back and the pars striker should have scored.

    Bottled it!
Believed their own hype and choked
Eckersley bottled it getting sent off, dunno about Buchanan was on the exit by then
No idea why Ross weakened the defence further benching Irvine. Maybe he believed the hype to?
Two defenders suspended, we will see if we have a real team next week...

Got completely bullied today, too many players pulling out of challenges and they were picking up most of the second balls. The gaps in our midfield was a real worry.
Stelios is great going forward, but was at fault for their first 2 from where I was sitting.
We were actually having a good spell when they got their second just before halftime. Their 3rd was hard to make out as it was at the other end, but looked like really poor defending. Thought Eckersley was the best of a poor bunch, before he got sent off.
If Reilly had finished his one on one early doors it may have been a different game, but well beaten today.
Back down to earth with a familiar St Mirren bump. Hopefully back to winning ways next week, but a lot for Jack to think about after that today.

To be fair, there wasn't a whole lot of scandalous questions as you'd expect when the team's doing well - off the top of my head:
JR said that Lewis Morgan compensation is based fully on the club who is arranging a PCA. In the worst case scenario, we'd hope that category 1 clubs would be approaching him which would increase the compensation significantly. In a best case scenario, Lewis (who is appreciative of the opportunity afforded to him by St. Mirren) and his agent will agree that the club deserve to be properly recompensed for his talents and will strike and agreement. James Fowler has identified the slow starts and early conceding of goals in games as an area where they'd like to focus on improvement but did point out that whilst an issue, it's a much less pressing issue than losing late goals. Players have facilities on hand to deal with several stress, pressure or general mental wellbeing issues and we have a professional gentleman - who is a supporter -  on hand who works with the club on a 'pick up the phone and he'll show at the drop of a hat' basis. Several of the players have benefited from this including several of the injured and young lads and Stephen McGinn who is feeling the added responsibilty of being club captain and throws himself fully into that role. Both Jack and James pressed at how important they believe that the mental wellbeing of players is - especially in the modern game where players are a lot more introverted. Jack went to Lennoxtown to pick Brendan Rodger's brain over pre-season and whilst he learnt a lot in terms of the mental aspect of dealing with players, was very happy that Celtic's methods were similar in several areas to things that Jack and James had already implemented at St. Mirren - which validated the decisions to do so somewhat. Everyone is fit for selection on Saturday apart from Kyle Magennis, Harry Davis and Gary McKenzie who is over his concussion but picked up an achillies strain  in a bounce game at Ralston last week. He's had a scan and there is no damage there, he's expected to be in contention for a place next week. Harry and Kyle are expected to be at full pace in the next fortnight and pushing for the first team afterwards. Kyle Magennis has dealt with his injury in a hugely professional manner. He approached the management and asked for advice on how to engage himself when injured, Jack Ross commented that he has since bulked up to the stage where he's noticeably square shouldered and is going to add a massive physical presence to his game upon return. Said the fans will be surprised at the changes in him. They are happy with the Ralston setup and whilst unwilling to name names (due to the unpredictability surrounding personal development at youth level) he said there is nothing to suggest the conveyor of talent will end any time soon and the club are now in a fortunate position where they are an attractive prospect for youth players due to the track record they have of giving youth a chance and the high turnover of players who get a move upwards. They have pinpointed 3 or 4 players not with the club who they feel could do us a very good turn in the future but due to time and finance constraints, have so far been unable to scout these players. They acknowledged that whilst the scouting at youth level is excellent, it's a struggle at senior level and would like a scout/scouts, although they accept that resources are finite and so must make do at present. Jack also commented that football at our level is still very much run on a level where a lot of scouting is done as goodwill gestures and an issue with this is pinpointing someone who'll do a favour whose opinion is trustworthy and in line with theirs.

The original Supporters Buses are sold out this week and the way we are playing, they will be full for most away matches.
    We need a new Bus.
What about the Club running a Bus or Buses , if need be , from the Stadium , based from the 1877 Club ?
Even for this Saturday, they could easily fill at least 2 Coaches.
Bookings and payment could be taken Online via the Official Website .
A few Buses could be provisionally booked and maybe bookings could cease late on Friday or Saturday mornings.
THE 1877 CLUB COULD ALSO BE OPEN FOR , MAYBE 2 HOURS BEFORE BUS LEAVES.
Also, maybe the other Supporters Clubs could join in the ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM.

This boy has worked his socks off since he broke into our first team. He looked a bit lightweight at the start but you could see he had talent. He came back after pre-season looked a lot stronger and has never looked back. His work rate and determination are what makes him stand out and I know he won't be here next year but he is a joy to watch and whenever wherever he goes I know nobody in the buddies faithful will grudge him that!

Doesn't get a lot of praise but I thought Eckersley had another great game yesterday - reads game well, strong in the tackle and his distribution was top drawer.  For first time in a long time though we have genuine pace in attack . Morgan was almost unplayable at times yesterday and Reilly must have covered some ground as he chased and harried everything.
Finally after some horrendous years we have a team worthy of our support - hopefully the fans will get behind this team in numbers and we can get some momentum going.

No, I don't think he enjoyed it. I would also guess that he thought he handled the match well. I imagine he went home tonight blissfully unaware that he'd taken yet another good quality Scottish game and through his general ineptitude and complete lack of a common sense approach, did his best to ruin it. I bet he went home, and in an 'Alan Partridge' fashion, quietly said to himself 'ahh, time for a wank I think'.

Pick on Collum? He isn't biased, he doesn't favour one team over another, he doesn't seem to have particular 'Old Firm' leanings either. He's just shit. Utter shit for both teams. A 4-2 thriller is turned into the Willie Collum show because he's a fcuking shite referee.
Does the cnut think that by making himself the centre of attention he might get MoTM and a bottle of champers?
    Useless inept chunt.

Thought we were poor for first 70 mins not working hard enough closing down or finding space . Last 20 we showed our quality going forward stepped it up and scored some great goals. It is a good sign that we played far from our best and still won,  if we can tighten up at back and keep all our forward players here and fit  we shoiuld be there or there abouts at the end of the season. Next week is massive hope we keep the feel good factor going.
