turrabuddie reacted to Mr Zo in Speculation Thread
Liam smith on loan would be a very good for for him and saints. Can't imagine he would want to head to Ayr in the championship instead of trying to play at a higher level and test himself further.
I am sure someone will ask tonight at q&a. He might not be someone on Stubbs radar but think he would be a valuable addition to the squad.
I just have this feeling that should John McGinn move on to Celtic for £2.5 million or so in the next few weeks then you will see a number of players of a pretty decent standard arriving at St Mirren.
I am not saying we are going to spend a large chunk of fee received but just think there will be some cash added to player pot for this season.

I would struggle to get my head round Smith going on loan to Ayr.
From a season at the club that skooshed the Championship, to a move to a club newly promoted to that league? How does that aid his development?
He would be a good fit for us, and, I suspect, we would be a good fit for him.

We don't have many wingers in the squad. Flynn perhaps, who isn't quick. We need a natural wide player. Humphrey and Mikey Johnston are both exactly that.

They have different strengths. Liam is great going forward but definitely suspect at the back and was responsible for a number of goals we lost last season. Paul is not as aggressive going forward can deliver a good cross. He is a much better defender with superior positional awareness (experience)
I believe they could challenge each other for that slot - both would have a decent shot of startong depending on who the opposition is. -

Liam Smith was outstanding last Season.
Our back four including him, entirely responsible for the many clean sheets.
Doubt we can afford two quality right backs though.
Paul McGinn is a great talent and wont let us down.

Not true Paul McGinn is coming on too his game you are being overly harsh. However as back up Liam would be a good option but don't think that's what he is looking for. Ayr are a club on the up that will be good for Liam.

Not sure I'd agree, he's good but probably on a par with Paul McGinn.

Surely we've got to go for him if he's available. He's considerably better than what we've got.

See Liam Smith is being linked with a loan move to Ayr Utd.
I'd be rather gutted to see a championship side taking on a right back who is both firmly within our price range and definitely good enough to improve our squad.

Winning a league or a cup is pretty rare in most players'careers and is an honour. I'm happy for the players to enjoy the achievement while they can and let's face it those guys did well.

Oh what a miserable individual that is behind that online personality, miserable indeed.
Winning the championship was indeed an achievement and some of the more light hearted Buddies amongst us will rightly wish to celebrate in an appropriate manner. To think where we were almost headed to starting a new season back at the top table of Scottish football is really quite remarkable, remarkable indeed. If the youngsters wish to mark the occasion then bloody guid luck to them. One imagines that almost every supporter of our club will raise at least a smile when that hard fought for flag is unfurled. I can only state how utterly sorry I feel for people who are so devoid of joy in life that they would wish to demean the achievement of winning the right to unfurl that flag. Some people really do revel in sucking joy from wherever it can be found. Well go suck your joy from elsewhere and leave our joy alone you joy sucking ghoul.

Brown would walk into any Scottish team without a doubt. He is one of those that opposition fans hate but secretly would love to have in their team . -

We are a family and child friendly club and I want to see us stay that way. And I am confident that's the way the Chairman and Bod view things too.
I cannot think of any scenario where that would be put at risk.
