Vast majority of Celtic players on £10-£12k a week with only the likes of Brown, Dembele, Sinclair and Edouard on over £20k a week. If as reported Celtic did offer John £23k a week then they must have been desperate to get him. As you say the business side blundered.

Stubbs might think the players should forget about last season but I be he didn't forget to mention winning the Scottish Cup at his interview.

Looking at their records makes you wonder why Stubbs did think the trialists were worth a go. FFS Nabi is 24 and has only ever played 25 games. We now appear to be scraping the barrel for players which is really concerning. Even if Celtic do decide to loan out Mikey Johnstone is there any guarantee we will get him?

As far as I'm concerned the Scottish top flight is the Scottish top flight. To say Kris Boyd's goals scored in the SPL don't count because the tournament had a different name is a ridiculous argument. By this rationale Celtic have only won the league 5 years in a row not 7.

Good as Doolan has been for Partick he's no McCoist, Larsson or John Robertson. He's not even at the same level as Tommy Coyne or Billy Dodds.

Marcus Bent is 40 and playing in the Southern Combination Football League. I suspect we won't be signing him.

He thinks McCoist would be a good choice. On this basis I wouldn't trust his judgement too much.

Can any of the people in favour of giving OF fans the South stand explain the £100k+ figure? If you believe the decision is justified by the significant extra income then presumably you believe it.

Last season, a lot was made about the benefits of selling additional West stand season tickets.

It was responded to and worked well.

Not one attempt has been made to build the support for the forthcoming season.

I'm sure someone on here will help me but I'm struggling with the supposed six figure sum we will get out of this. If we have three OF games that's 4500 tickets. £25 a ticket would be £112,500 but police costs will be significantly higher and reducing South stand season ticket prices will cut income. Potentially some fans won't renew tickets though guess this will be far fewer than the number that threaten not to.

Top six might give 4 home OF games but I would be concerned if we are basing our budget on a top six finish when Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hibs and Hearts are likely to take five out of six spots.

I felt we were the better team in the first with Morgan really in the mood. Can't believe Reilly missed with the lob and thought their keeper was lucky to stay on when he took out Reilly. I assume the centre half and covered round behind the goalkeeper and the referee possibly felt he could have prevented a goal but would have to see again.
 
We just didn't play in the second half after a bright first 5-10 minutes. Their penalty didn't look like a penalty and think referee eventually got it right.
 
One of my bug bears this season is the slightly disappointing crowds at St Mirren Park. Only 3,600 yesterday with a very poor 350 from Dunfermline. There were 5,700 at East End Park back in September. Falkirk and Dunfermline are regularly getting bigger crowd than us this season especially with Falkirk being so bad.
 
This could be a title winning season and would really hope to see over 4,000 in the home end for each game. I have a feeling we will only get really big crowds in the last 2 or 3 home games of the season. I have no real idea how they get the crowds up but possibly drop prices for Inverness game to say £5 for adults as a thank you to the support and get people back in through the door. There is a possibility we could be heading into January 6 or 7 points ahead of United if results go our way. This could be a memorable season you want to tap into the feel good factor and get St Mirren Park as full as possible.
 
Alternatively something like season ticket holders can bring a friend for a tenner or something with kids going free.

My son was at the panda club for the first time and absolutely loved it. Would recommend it to anyone with a youngster.
 
Top of the league without really playing to our best so what is not to like. This team will get better and we will strengthen in January so all positive stuff fellow buds.
 
My MOM was big Jack Baird. He was immense again. A real unsung hero within that side and has been our best defender by far this season. Keep up the good work Bairdy!
