Magic Monkey Posted July 14, 2018 Report Posted July 14, 2018 Wow. I'm impressed. Sounds like he was only vaguely satisfied with that. Setting high standards for sure. Anyone else starting to feel very optimistic?! Quote

Ethan Posted July 14, 2018 Report Posted July 14, 2018 The fact he wont settle for thst last night is good to see. He really wants to take us forward with better players than what we have even now. I thought Ross did an amazing job however Stubbs looks like he could be even better. Quote
oaksoft Posted July 14, 2018 Report Posted July 14, 2018 Its worth remembering that Stubbs presumably has more money than Jack had primarily due to compensation we got from Sunderland. We have a real opportunity here to do something special. It is refreshing to hear he is dissapointed to not get all 3 points. This could be a very special season indeed. Quote

A board that's willing to loosen the purse strings and back the manager is a new thing for us. At least it is in the last 20 years. Quote

Good to see that we look like investing some cash if the right type comes along though. Could be exciting times ahead. Quote
Stu Posted July 14, 2018 Report Posted July 14, 2018 That interview is a disgrace. No "top man" to Jimbo at the end Quote

Balmullo Bud Posted July 18, 2018 Report Posted July 18, 2018 Good interview. He’s honest and echoing what most have been saying on here about last night’s game. If anything, the game is going to be a massive kick up the arse to a lot of the players and I think Stubbs is going to be ruthless like his predecessor. If players don’t take their opportunities then their out. Very early days, but I wonder if he’s questioning some of his signings already. It sounds like he’s starting to understand how vital our captain is to making us tick too. Quote
magnus Posted July 18, 2018 Report Posted July 18, 2018 Agreed. He might also be realising that if he fails at Saints it could be very difficult to get another gig anytime soon. High stakes. Quote
Isle Of Bute Saint Posted July 18, 2018 Report Posted July 18, 2018 Not overly worried it was a bad blip that will be sorted. Quote
Al Bundy Posted July 21, 2018 Report Posted July 21, 2018 I would prefer to hear "We know we need to get better..." rather than "The players know..." as if it's nothing to do with him. That said he does come across as pretty frustrated in that interview. Quote
