It's a pity Police State Scotland doesn't extend to Ibrox & Parkhead, where it is needed more

oh FFS... how the hell has this been allowed to drag out and fester?
The person concerned is a relative of one of our up and coming players. That shouldn't make a difference of course, but common sense says GET IT SORTED and remove any possible distraction from the players path.
Having read all the comments to date, I am totally astonished that this wasn't dealt with in a matter of days, never mind dragging on for months.
Is there some kind of personal agenda on either side that has not been shared? If not, the club deserves a rocket up its arse for alienating loyal supporters and cutting off income streams!
Tony... GLS... get together with the lad and talk face to face... RESOLVE the issue one way or the other. Do it now! Stop hiding behind the police as an excuse and make your own decisions as mature businessmen!
This is now in the public domain and your actions in this matter will have a significant influence in how fans perceive your trustworthiness.

i'd use iconic photo's for this
for the players tunnel, the goal line clearance v Rangers where 4 or 5 St Mirren players are photographed from behind the goal all jumping together to clear a ball off the line.
Slogan would either be             One town One Team. This is St Mirren   or In it together.
For the other vomitories, I'd use the same slogan (to keep the message consistent) but use other iconic/memorable pictures too. A different phot in each vomitory
Thommo reeling away after scoring at Hampden, Cup winning teams with their cups etc etc. The supporters could be polled to choose their chosen photo's from a shortlist & as someone else suggested (think it was Div) have these sponsored by local businesses for a win/win on financing it.

he appears to have missed the point of admitting he was on the concourse and that action led to him being taken out by police. To my reckoning is an acknowledgement of wrongdoing on his part.
I (wrongly) thought it was only rangers & celtic that think their fans can behave however they like without consequence?

Clubs in England cast their nets far & wide with extensive scouting networks covering a few counties.
I manage Romford Borough Youth FC U13's in East London. On Sunday, after the U13's match, I was approached  by a Norwich City Scout asking permission to speak to 2 of my players parents. This was in East London. They were given a choice of 2 centres of excellence to attend. Monday Night in Chelmsford (Essex) or Tuesday night in Walthamstow (East London). They'll go for 6 weeks for trials and then I'll be told if they want to sign either or not.
I expect one of them to be definitely offered whatever it is they offer 12 year olds to sign for them. The other lad, had Arsenal sniffing round but nothing appears to have come of that but he has the determination and desire to become a footballer, I won't be expected if they take him too
Here's hoping they both do well and get signed, It will weaken my team though as they are the 2 best players but if that's the outcome, I'll be delighted.

I bought into the concept of getting a supporters bar founded and open. I have always wanted it to be first in first served and 1 out 1 in when full. The quicker that happens, the better for St Mirren FC and it's supporters.

It is so nice to see you falling in love with the club you have always supported once again Stuart.
    You are indeed correct.
The club can either cut costs to match income... ... or maximise income to meet aspirations.
Initially, Gilmour and co were absolutely correct in reigning in excess expenditure... but that went too far and became a mindset that would not allow any growth despite the base for a healthy business model being in place.
I believe GLS has the business acumen to take us a step forward, and look forward to your inevitable "I told you so's" as the club takes strides forward.
    Welcome home!

Kombibuddie got a reaction from BuddieinEK in Fans Council
I appreciate anyone and any group that gives up their own time to make a difference but only if it is unconditional. I cannot abide folk who step up and let you know they have stepped up but at the back of their mind is "what is in this for me?"
Fortunately/Unfortunately, I don't know anyone on the fans council other than I bumped into Jack Paterson twice about 10 years ago. My opinion on the fans council is based  what they have delivered and not delivered and the conduct of FC members on this forum.
To act as an intermediary between the Club and the Fans They've done some great stuff but for exiles like me, updated meetings minutes would be a valuable tool to keep informed of things. Nothing since February shouldn't be acceptable to the FC, the fans or The Club. There should be a timeframe after each meeting to upload the minutes so that The Fans are getting updated in a timely manner. To share knowledge and best practice and to improve relationships between the various stakeholders, in particular the relationship between the Fans and the Club. Information needs to be accurate, not what they think it is and if they are not prepared to go find out for sure, they shouldn't be on the fans council. To provide a good communication flow, between the Club and the Fans. It's not happening when someone posts that they know something and then tell forum members to speak to the club themselves and that he posted nonsense because he was bored. Their should be a code of conduct for Fans Council members. Especially if frequenting the various fans forums & they should refrain from petty name calling or goading other posters in rows and most above all, any reply they make to a question, should be accurate to the best of their knowledge and if they don't know, help get the snwer or say nought at all. To provide a platform for the Fans to ensure they are involved in appropriate decision making. what is appropriate decision making? 1877 Club entry criteria? Away fan seating allocation? To move fans to accommodate other clubs? To act as the prime movers in various fund raising initiatives for the mutual benefit of the Club, the Fans and the Community. They certainly succeed here. fund raising can be a thankless task but nonetheless, their fundraising is well publicised and i'd hope, well supported too. Now that the 1877 Club is open & running, i'd like to see it used for functions involving the fans & community. Quiz nights, race nights, comedy nights etc etc. They have helped to deliver the 1877 club and have worked closely with the Disabled Supporters Association regarding a covered disabled area in the stadium.
2 very huge positives and fantastic achievements
I personally feel that communication between the club and fans is as poor as ever (St.Mirren seem to be hopeless at PR). It's also worth noting that Council minutes have not been uploaded on to the Council website since February.
I think the FC should have an agreed timeframe for posting meetings minutes. It has a feel of an "old boys network" about it at the moment.

Personally, I'd like to see a collaboration of the great work both SMISA & the FC do and a good bit more working together for the club. To me, it looks that each other looks at the other through beady eyes and a wee bit of suspicion of they don't like us. An amalgamation wouldn't go amiss considering SMISA are the prime movers in the takeover and would definitely be in the interests of The Club if they started working together, as one and not two separate entities trying to do similar things. Join & be stronger or don't and compete against each other.
err, that's it, I think. Have a good day.

Kombibuddie got a reaction from BuddieinEK in What would you spend £8K on?
I see posters talk of a "platform" for disabled supporters & a debate of a metal structure or a concrete structure.
In a stadium that has never sold out, couldn't the back 2 rows of seats {row M & N I think )of a section in the main stand be removed and the front row (of the 2 rows) be built up to form a concrete platform for wheelchairs to be pushed onto. Seats could be re-sited for the person accompanying to sit alongside the wheelchair user. Access through the main stand using the lift in the stand to get up to that level.
as for the £8K SMISA has burning a hole in its pockets, save it. Better to build up a decent fund that can be utilised more meaningfully than spend every little pot of cash generated on small projects.
