If Ipswich Town offer Jack Ross the job he will take it in a heartbeat. I doubt he will get a better opportunity.  He'd be a fool not to.

If offered the Ipswich job and he’s happy to relocate then he’d be a complete basket case to turn it down. 
Solid club, finances are decent, huge fan base, underachieving and huge potential for improvement, owners with a track record of showing patience and a pretty nice corner of England to move to. 
Hang about here for a couple of season and he could be chasing jobs in the lower division like Lennon and MacPherson

Drew, I’m not sure I understand the logic here. On one hand Jack is a high flying manager riding the crest of a second tier league win and on the other if he doesn’t finish in the top 6 of our Premier Division his stock suddenly plummets?

So, by definition, leading Saints to the Championship is a greater achievement than keeping them in the Premiership with one of the smallest budgets? Both of which happening in a league nobody cares about?

Derby County and Villa made a combined  profit of over £20m in the transfer market.

And this is what we want to do and build through youth and pick up some bargains.
We bought Cresswell for not a lot and sold him for £4m, we bought Mings for £10k and sold him for £8m.
We got Garner and Waghorn from Rangers for a combined fee of about £500k and they have been fantastic, our GK is arguably the best in the league and cost peanuts from Notts County.
We really have some great young players coming through and whilst money helps we are the sort of club that likes to be self sufficient and it can work.
I might be an old fart but I believe a club can compete with good foundations and the right people.
Edit; And before Marcus tightened the purse strings we spent millions and millions on a pile of shite.

I’ve no idea if he has or hasn’t yet met with them but my friend in Ipswich is pretty positive he has been in direct contact, made a good impression and is being invited for a second interview. 
Remember, he doesn’t necessarily need to have been down south to have a first interview. This could easily have been done by Skype or similar. 
Like I said, I have no idea what’s happened so for or what is planned for next week and am only passing on information given to me from a friend in Ipswich who seems to have a bit of knowledge of the football club.

Maybe.
It isn't helpful from our perspective, though. That said, I have no issue with Jack pursuing this - it's his right and prerogative.
 

A bit of a blow, as you could see that he read the game very well and he did steady our defence somewhat when he came in. For that I am extremely grateful to him and wish him all the best.
However, and it's only my opinion, I thought he was a bit too easily bullied, particularly in the air, by more physical players, of the type we're going to have to cope with in every game in the top league.

Word is Jack has been invited back for a second interview next week so he is definitely high up the list of candidates. 
This was from someone I do business with in the Ipswich area who’s a huge Ipswich fan.

Rumour has it that JR has a second interview next week.
